5/5 for me. TLDR: Fun, heartwarming game but very tiring. Pros: Extremely attractive character design, very interesting and appealing plot and world. The story is very positive and puts a lot of warm pleasure in my heart. Combat system is very interesting and varied, but somehow lacks balance, and battles can easily become one-sided. Cons: Censorship, and also no animations. There is not a lot of romance revolving around the characters, but there is ample backstory. The developers are antisocial. They insult players for being losers by trying to go through shortcuts while the whole game design is disastrous. Despite the being no restrictions in attempts, the game itself is nearly impossible to cheat, even to extremely skilled game crackers. I suggest using a trainer while standing on a vitality feather and afk. Some parts of the game (like the Lacia Isle Charlotte task) isn't exactly friendly and is very counterintuitive. Finding resources is a pain in the ass, as most good equipment either can be found hell knows where, or must be made out of resources found hell knows where. The info system of the game does a terrible job of leading you to find resources. This might not be a huge problem shall the game have mechanics that are interesting enough to lead to a replay.
Disappointing. Started the game with a sausage party, seriously way too many dudes for an "eroge" if this game can even be called that. To discover later that all the hentai is confined in extra galleries. The game is not terrible but as a RPG itself is nothing spectacular. The most generic old fashioned 2D turn based gameplay. This is not eushully's selling point. They are eroge developers. And they failed the most important part of the game. The hentai/romance part. Worst eushully game.
probably one of the worse titles that Eushully has put out... Combat started off fun but got very boring very quickly since the game requires a lot of grind. The story is very much to be desired. Half the time I wanted to skip the story just to get pass the boredom.
First and foremost if you try to play the game normally its a grinding nightmare but and this is the only good thing i can say about the game is that it has a baby mode that lets you cheat your way through. The main game is the MC running around investigating problems in the kingdom which he does but the entire investigation is like the rest of this game, pointless as he learns nothing that's not blatantly obvious right at the start of it and even after spending a huge amount of time "investigating" every town and talking with every person the MC Spoiler: Ending spoiler still has no clue what to do so he decides to simply ask the guy doing it directly The story contradicts it's self so often that it's a struggle to see any kind of actual story, Knights stealing supplies is bad/Knights need to do that while deployed so it's good, Sophia needs to learn to gather to save her village/we are taking Sophia with us so to hell with the village, Nobles are responsible for the problems in the country and we should stop them/MC helps nobles at every turn even to the point of getting commoners executed for treason, literally with everything in this game it says the good can be bad and the bad can be good which destroys any plot as nothing progresses. It also keeps pushing the idea that instead of getting the people who are paid to do a job to actually do it, all problems can be solved if the MC teaches everyone how to forage or simply do it himself so then the rich don't have to do anything. The side plot's are also incredibly uninteresting, the action mission are all the same, investigate area and/or subjugate something over and over again, where as the story ones are either simple pointless ones that accomplish nothing(neither side actually kills anyone) like mob wants to kill corrupt noble, named character shows up and tells them not to do that, rinse and repeat, or to the longer stupidly convoluted and unnecessary ones Spoiler: Side story spoiler a prince while pretending to be a simple bard(super obvious by the way) joins the MC's team who are investigating the nobility and while doing that dons a mask to rob a noble and after the noble tells the guards to arrest the masked man the prince shows up again wearing the mask and takes offense at the accusation of being labeled as the masked criminal then after fighting through them to the noble he confronts him saying the noble should be punished for the guards not checking that the masked prince was in fact the same masked man that robbed the noble even through he was wearing exactly the same clothes with the same mask and is the only masked person in the whole town, the whole plot is stupidly convoluted and unnecessary given at the end all he did was tell the noble to treat peasants better which as prince he was always in a position to do without any of that. The writing is stretched out to the point that it becomes gibberish, they take what should be simple straight forward conversations like: person has gone to the mine and has not come back so could you go and check on them, and stretch it into an insanely long boring conversation where no additional information is actually given. I had hoped there would be a lot of choices in the game but there are actually almost none and certainly none that really change the games direction, although they do change the games ending but in order to get certain endings you have to make very specific choices during the game in-between the missions which makes going back to make a different choice impossible so for each choice you basically have to play the game all the way through again. The MC is an utterly pointless character who while supportive to the other characters in what they want, he himself remains totally neutral to everything until the ending where depending on your choices he will make a sudden dramatic abrupt change in attitude and character. It's poorly made, they use the same character sprites for multiple characters, the open world aspect is completely pointless as you have to go everywhere and do all the missions up to the point of the ending choice. Its pitched as a commoner vs noble game but in reality there are only around five bad people in the whole game and all the endings i could find end with Spoiler: Ending spoiler the MC backing the same or a different noble to take over ruling the country There is no logic to the writing, its simply mindless dribble in order to force events that don't make any sense Spoiler: One ending spoiler when the MC meets the king he finds out he has lost his mind while trying to bring someone back from the dead(which the MC and gang conclude is impossible) and after confirming the kingdoms troubles are because of this ritual which the king himself states he will never stop trying until it works, the MC decides to help the king with the ritual because he says when its finished he will fix the kingdom, it doesn't take a genius to see the problems with that. Finally as for the so called adult content, well there is none at least as a part of the story but you do unlock some in the options menu by playing. Story 1/5 (absolute mess) Sex N/A (None in game) Characters 1/5 (boringly obvious) Art 2/5 (low quality and reused) Choices 1/5 (replay whole game for the little difference they make) Kinks N/A (None in game)
Wayblazer Dammerung, or "Hyakusen no Jou ni Kawatareshi Toki," the latest entry by Eushully. While it is ultimately different from their usual formula, it is still a good experience, nonetheless. Beware though, as this game features a LOT of grinding, so if you're not a fan of that, then why play games by Eushully in the first place? (Every game of theirs feature grinding) The story is relatively good, but due to the non-linear design of the game's progression, it'll suffer quite a bit (unless you really know how to connect piece by piece). The gameplay is like standard, old-fashioned turn-based JRPG-style, which is to say is not bad, but not quite great. The characters though are interesting (imo), and apart from a few exceptions, this game is still a good work by Eushully; just not at the level of their peak. All in all, if you have the time to spare, it's a good game to play. But only gauge that within the first hour or so, as each experience will vary greatly. I have bought this game on Steam, in hopes of getting another Eushully title/series to be released to the rest of the world (*cough* Ikusa Megami *cough* Fuukan no Grasesta, etc.), so if you also want to support the devs (and have the money to spare), then buy it while it's still on discount. Anyway, I'll go finish my Chaos route run now, toodles.
Not the best Eushelly game. Gameplay wise, the UI is horrendous and the fights are boring due to the lack of abilities especially early on. You'll end up putting a lot on auto and do something else on the side to occupy yourself for most of the game. The grind is also crippling. You'll have to go back to boring dungeons to keep harvesting ressources through minigames (they can be skipped in exchange for lesser gains) The story is good though. Simple but striving to avoid the common tropes in the genre. Art style is simple and clean, monsters are varied and don't feel like the usual stock images. The adult part is a bit of a let down. Not only are there only few scenes and not the best Eushully delivered, but they also arrive very late in the game (like many hours of gameplay for the first one...) Conclusion: play other games from the same dev, alchemy meister or labyrinth meister are more worthy of your time. This one is disappointing.
At long last, we have an official western/English release for a Eushully game! Sadly, it's unfortunately not one of their best. The open gameplay means it has a very slow start since various early scenes need to reiterate the core conflict ad nausium, and it takes a long time before the characters actually interact with one another at all rather than one character talking to the main two guys (since the game assumes you might not have the other party members yet). The subplots also can't really feed into one another effectively. Overall, it's kinda similar to the problems Octopath Traveler has, for much the same reasons. It's still very solid if you like a traditional JRPG, though, and it does pick up as it goes, but it's definitely a case where I bought it partly in hopes it will get them to localize their better stuff too. The open-scenario notion was a great concept, but it comes with drawbacks for this kind of game. Also, it needs to be noted that there isn't any sexual content in the main game. Technically there wasn't any in Japan either, but a later patch or Append did add some scenes to the game's gallery/Eushully-Chan Room. Those scenes didn't get localized with the rest of the game, but the core game itself is fully intact.
