With The Childhood Friend is a dating sim from Ama Team, built in Godot and presented with animated 3DCG scenes. You play a male protagonist whose difficult family situation leaves him starting over in a manga café. There he unexpectedly meets Miyu, a childhood friend he has not seen for years. When she learns of his circumstances, she invites him to stay in her apartment, creating a chance for the two to reconnect. The game uses point-and-click interaction, with romance and multiple endings.
The current build is v1.0.1 Beta, dated September 13, 2026, and development remains ongoing. It is available for Windows in English, plus 13 additional languages, and is uncensored. The latest changelog describes a bug in the release build where items failed to load because the engine's autoload system did not work, making progress impossible. The update corrects that problem, restoring item loading and allowing normal advancement.

With The Childhood Friend is a story about two childhood friends finding their way back to each other after years apart. After a difficult family situation leaves him with nowhere to go, the protagonist finds himself starting over from scratch, temporarily living at a manga café. Then, by chance, he runs into Miyu, the childhood friend he hasn't seen in years. When she learns about his situation, she offers him a room in her apartment, giving them an unexpected chance to reconnect.
