A New Life: Close Quarters is an animated dating sim with sandbox play and avoidable netorare, made by VelvetLedger Studios in HTML. You play a young man coming to a shared house for an exchange stay, expecting a fresh start away from his usual life. He soon shares the home with several women who have distinct personalities, routines, boundaries, and secrets. You move through the house and nearby city locations, complete small requests, strengthen bonds, unlock private moments, and notice casual events during daily travel. Conversations, quests, and actions advance time, and each day has limited actions before sleep.
The current build is v0.2.4, released August 13, 2026, and the project is still in development. It runs on Windows, is written in English, and is uncensored. The latest update adds a complete alternate storyline with separate characters and quests. Serena, Kira, Valentina (Amber), and Harper are four new women in that path, each with six quest parts. Marcus, Tyler, Ethan, and Derek are rival men shown in encounter images.
