About Barren Bargain
Barren Bargain is a Unity-made adult game by Winterchill, presented as animated 2D CG. You play a farmer in a world where a demonic rain has poisoned the land, ruined crops, and left hunger to drive people mad. Your surviving fields become leverage when powerful and desperate visitors arrive, forcing choices about who deserves help in a setting where morality is scarce. The loop combines management, RPG progression, and dating-sim interactions: grow crops, end the day to harvest, restore energy, sell surplus, talk to characters, decide weekly aid, and see the consequences.
The current build is v0.0.5, released on May 24, 2026 for Windows in English, with no censorship. Development is ongoing. The latest update continues the Sergeant and Mercenary storylines through +5 and -5 supply levels, adds new scenes and dialogues for both, and includes minigames at their camps. It also brings the wife back to assist, adds a gallery, unlocks good endings for the Sergeant and Mercenary stories, and includes bug fixes plus tutorial refinements.

The world is gripped by madness. A demonic rain poisons the land, crops wither and die, and hunger drives people insane. You are a farmer whose land has miraculously survived amidst the widespread desolation. One day, unexpected guests arrive at your home. The powerful and the desperate, they are ready to do anything for your harvest. Now your crops have become a weapon and a guarantee of survival in a world where morality is a luxury few can afford. Gameplay: Grow crops, harvest them by ending the day, restore your energy, sell surplus produce, interact with characters, choose who deserves your help (or intentionally refuse) at the week's end, and witness the outcome of your decisions.
