The game's interesting without being stellar. Like the renders help but it just feels so middle of the road. There's not much there to really make it stand out from what is an incredibly pack genre. The girls are nice but all in all the story feels bland. You go to college, you meet girls. There's a Draco Malfoy type antagonist and it's all hush hush why he's a asshat. Like... cool but I don't know if I'm showing my age here but I just don't care about that drama. The game is obviously drawing you into that sub plot and it'll probably turn out the Draco lad is running a drug ring, or prostitution or whatever else and really.... I don't care. I just keep thinking if I was the MC I'd be like... na I can't be bothered with that and just avoid it all. And given it seems to be the main focus of the story I suspect I'm not going to enjoy the game going forward. There's an interesting introvert/extrovert game mechanic which you can tweak with your actions and it seems some girls are locked behind your choices which is quite refreshing but to go back to the whole Draco lad thing I get the impression being meek and just not wanting to be interested in that will rack you up introvert points which could impact your relationship with certain women, which seems limited. I haven't played far so perhaps it gets better, perhaps the angry student sub plot is a red herring but right now it's the only plot point there is beyond speaking to characters, so I'm assuming it's important.
This game is pretty much a straight clone of another well known game. Lite version. That's ok, there's lots of college games out there with similar themes, some done better than others, and I'm open to trying them out to see. So let's see. The MC is a bit of a doofus, and we're forced to have yet another lovable/annoying sidekick so be prepared for that. The good is that there's lots of branches and choices matter. The models are decent to look at and have their own personalities. The problem is that both the writing and the sex scenes are ruthlessly bland. You get bored reading the story, because it's absolutely devoid of inspiration, but it's not childish or stupid mostly, just boring. The dialogue is bland and so are the events. You find yourself skipping to get to the sex scenes, only to find that they're bland as well. Some games are strong on one and weak on the other, but in this case they're both weak. There's nothing inherently "bad" about the writing, grammar or structure wise. It's just one superficial conversation/situation after another without much real humor. The sex scenes are so vanilla and so lacking in any kind of emotional investment that even the lewd content lovers won't have anything to make wading through the story worthwhile. I stuck it out through the end of chapter 4, and that's it for me. Bailing on this one.
Nice light reading type of game. The setup isn't exactly ground breaking "guy in college" but i appreciate that it is actually set in college instead of some other games that are very obviously not. The characters look really good but also realistic somewhat, Cleo is fine af. The two flaws IMO are the animations feel pretty stuttery and most of all a lot of the dialogue is just not realistic at all for 20 something year olds. I'm not sure if English isn't the dev's native language or what but the characters stay stuff like "most likely" or some weird shit that maybe people would text but no one would say IRL. At some point every character started calling an electric guitar a "Rock Guitar" and i just lost it it was so unintentionally hilarious lol. Good chill game nonetheless though!
Really good, one of the best college type games I've played. Unique and attractive chracters that feel like actual persons. Only thing that could be improved is that some of the animations don't look very smooth and a little weird.
TL;DR: Campus Bonds starts off strong with a chill, enjoyable vibe, fun party scenes, and solid LiS interactions. The first two episodes offer freedom and good pacing, but Episode 3 shifts into forced drama (in my opinion) Fortunately, the ending gives some emotional context that might redeem it. this VN could end up being one of my favorites. ---- Contains some Spoilers bellow. Campus Bonds [v0.3.1] (Ep. 1–3) When good vibes turn into drama General impressions and tone The writing is simple – which honestly works. I'm not expecting The Da Vinci Code from a college setting visual novel. Some renders are on the older side in Ep1 for example, but still decent. The characters don't look like reused DAZ assets, and that touch of originality is appreciated. The first episode plays like a slow intro – basic setup, character introductions, nothing major. Reminds me of other slow-burn VNs, and I like that. Even with that, I’ve been enjoying it – it’s not deep or emotional like a certain "summer-themed" VN , but it’s pretty cool. Dialogue and language The English feels like it was written by someone who speaks it as a second language – it’s simple and occasionally feels “machine-translated.” For someone like me, who isn’t a native speaker either, it’s fine. But I can imagine native speakers might raise an eyebrow. Phrases like “check her out” or “don’t risk it” show up constantly – almost like it’s trying to be a voyeur sim xD Overuse of the player name ( “ Hi Bepix! Yes, Bepix! See you, Bepix! Thank you Bepix!” ) feels robotic / weird – even my grandma didn’t call me by name that much but that is just a my "observation" i guess. Choices and immersion Sometimes the game feels inconsistent – I declined a drink, but the MC still thanked them for it. Other times, you’re forced into weird things that doesn't make sense. But to be fair – the first two episodes gave me enough freedom to play how I wanted, and that’s cool. I went through all three without a guide, just on instinct, and that felt good. Music The music in party scenes is surprisingly solid – 2–3 tracks are legit bangers. But it gets repetitive quickly – about 5 tracks in total, and since there are multiple parties in Episode 1/2 , it starts to wear thin. Still, the soundtrack is a highlight. I genuinely love when the music hits, the lights are right, and characters interact naturally. That’s why I kept playing. Visuals and technical aspects Later scenes show clear improvement – better lighting, sharper renders, more detailed environments. The MC even looks better visually as the episodes go on, which I honestly didn’t expect. The first CG scene (with Sadie) has some minor technical flaws – clipping, choppy animation – but it didn’t ruin the experience. Some models (like the cotton candy) look... questionable. Missing opacity, radioactive foam vibes. My Favorite Girls Cleo – calm, soft-spoken, seems like a stable route with emotion and minimal drama. Early favorite. Sadie – charismatic, a bit dramatic but clear in her intentions (“friends with benefits” route for me – but honestly, there’s more under the surface - i HOPE xD). Francesca –idk. i just love her too. Scarlett – pure chaos in green hair. The type that pulls you in and pushes you away at the same time. She’ll wreck you and you’ll thank her for it. Bonus points for the characters not being generic archetypes seen in other VNs. Atmosphere and pacing Free roam during party scenes stood out – especially when the music hits and characters feel alive. Jon is a constant party guy – brings real “college energy.” Scenes with favorite LiS (Cleo, Sadie, etc.) show up fairly often – helps keep the connection going. MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD! Turning point in Ep. 3 – fake drama and MC’s spiral Up until Episode 3, I was fully on board. But that episode marked a shift. The MC – once a chill, relatable dude – suddenly starts acting impulsively, overreacting, making dumb decisions just for the sake of drama. Breaking into the library twice, storming out of a party, getting aggressive when it could’ve been resolved calmly. The issue isn’t the drama itself – it’s that I had no control over it. The game forces these reactions, and they don’t feel earned. It’s not organic storytelling – it’s conflict injected for tension. Even the so-called “big reveal” at the end of 3.episode – felt underwhelming. Unless that actually leads somewhere, it’s just a hollow twist. End of Ep. 3 – some justification appears That said – the end of the episode does provide some context. We learn that MC’s father left, claiming MC’s mother was never satisfied and essentially toxic. The MC reflects on how his mom was impulsive and “angry that his dad even breathed” – and that maybe he inherited that. So while I didn’t enjoy the way the drama was handled, this context makes some of it make sense . If the game builds on this and actually explores it, it could retroactively justify some of MC’s behavior. Summary Episodes 1–2: great start, smooth pacing, relaxed atmosphere, strong characters, music-driven moments, enjoyable freedom. Episode 3: excessive drama, MC becomes unstable, choices feel forced, tension feels fake. End of Episode 3: possible redemption if the emotional background is developed well. I just hope we can return to the simple things – the parties, the music, the character moments – because that’s what made me love this VN in the first place. Overall, I think this laid down a solid foundation. If the dev manages to balance the scales between "parties" and "drama" and continues in this direction, I could definitely see myself placing this VN in my Top 10 and eventually buying it on Steam or supporting it on Patreon. thanks for reading!
Campus Bonds has the potential to be a pretty good game. There are a couple of areas I feel it’s a bit lacking in, but there are others where it works quite well, and overall, at this early stage in its development (episode 2), I’m pretty happy with it. The graphics look good, and there’s a good variety of girls – I like that this variation also extends to their lewdability, where there are a couple you can get a scene or two with early on while others are clearly going to take more work. The sex scenes themselves are pretty good too, with decent animation and a variety of poses. In terms of the gameplay, there are a few free roams, which I think generally work well, but the first one lacked a bit of inventiveness. There’s a fighting minigame as well, but so far I fail to see the point in this, as it takes place outside of the game’s storyline and there seems to be no reward for completing it. The one thing that I think does let the game down a bit is the story itself. In many places it seems a bit basic, and while I can see this being a realistic portrayal of someone’s first few days at college, there needs to be a spark, a bit of direction, to keep people intrigued. That may well be coming in the next update or two though, with some of the hints given towards the end of episode two.
very Good looking girls, nice graphics, story plot should be more intense and engaging, overall nice game. harem or not doesn't matter, solo love routes should be good. more tags to spice up the story/plot.
still short but promising so far, need some font and background update because some of the text its kinda hard to read but its just minor. story wise still very early, its not fair to judge its an intro pretty much andI like it. Music was swell the girls are great have a lots of type lmao overall is great.
Great start dude! There's a lot of potential here. Gotta bunch of sexy af women with different personalities. Good looking protag that ain't a midget. Fun story with meaningful choices. No major issues with the game. Maybe some of the conversations can be improved. Protag saying golly was a bit weird. Don't think I've ever heard a guy seriously talk like an old Disney character. Anywaaaay! Keep it up! I'm looking forward to the next update.
The story is good hopefully it will evolve to a better story in the future. The character design are great with a good size of bust and ass unlike some games with over exxagerated breast and butt. The free roaming of the game is well place and the photos are place on the right where it is not easy to find but not so hard that you give up looking. My only major proble is that the animation in sex scene is not good especially the expression of the ladies during the intercourse. Thw kissing scene animation is not that bad but I hope that their eill be a part that the guy will pull the girl for a kiss not automatically the kissing scene
Positive points: It is better than I imagined, it is a well-crafted VN, it uses techniques from other more popular VNs (which doesn't seem bad), It has good renders, decent animations. Negative: Try to be very aggressive and extremely obvious, something that is not, We all know what popular VN we are talking about, which means that comparisons simply begin to arise automatically (in negative ways and with a significant degree of cringe) I give it 3 stars, not only because it uses the blueprint in a way that almost borders on the copy right of another very popular product, but also because the music is honestly horrible, you have to put less music with voices, and something that is more enjoyable to listen while you are reading the script and trying to enjoy your work. Last negative point, the characters, including especially the MC, look generic and lifeless, they look like mannequins, you need to work a little more on postures, expressions, and try to only use one style of assets on the characters, sometimes characters looks like a Genesis 9, and suddenly you see another that looks like a Genesis 3, and the truth is that it is very shocking. Conclusion: You have a good base, my recommendation is that you need to stop trying to imitate that visual novel which we all know what it is, put less shocking and unlikable music, Improve the design of your characters (try to make them all Genesis 8.1 or higher), they need to look less generic and not look so similar to each other, Improve expressions, make postures look more natural, and don't place so many love interests, less is always more, good luck.
There is inspiration and there is rip-off, this one unfortunately is the latter. It's a plagiarism of the most popular porn game and it offers nothing unique, there's zero effort put into the story, character creation or anything really. Renders are good and animations are decent and it's the only reason I'm not rating it lower. So far there's not much content either although that's to be expected since currently it's v. 0.1. For me it goes on ignore list though because almost nothing here is good and sandbox/free-roam gameplay is too annoying (it's not the worst I've seen but everything screams "I'm a rip off"). 4/10 game IMO..
Promising for a brand new release. Every character looks good, if not great and there is nice music throughout above the usual generic affair. There are a few noticeable spelling errors and the lewd scenes are decent but come a little fast for my tastes. These are both minor issues to me for how early in development this game is. I also want to give the story more time before forming an opinion but it seems like there's some effort being made to set up and tease things already which I like. Definitely keeping an eye on this and will update my review as updates release.
