v1.10a
Corrected path detection algoritm bug that led to some players not having their saves parsed properly.
Fixed continuity error after Day 2 where the judge referred to an evidence mistake as "yesterday" when it was in fact a week ago.
Fixed the script referring to a non-existent music file in Ch4, leading to gray screen.
Fixed Amanda using a contraction in her dream sequences.
Fixed an incorrect variable check where Lisa says she resigned from Polygene when speaking with AG Tom Reynolds.
Fixed several instances where MC's name was assumed to be "Alex" by the script.
Fixed several typos or grammatical issues identified by players and testers.
Updated little refugee girl's name from Gul to Alfire to maintain consistency with the closing credits.
v1.10
Here are the links to the final content release of Chasing Sunsets.
This episode builds off the future unlocked by your choices in the main game with consequences in both the short and longer term. Our largest update to the game by a significant margin, this episode acts as closure for the origin story and sets up the shot for what's coming next.
The most recent update is v1.10 which completes the Chasing Sunsets story, and ties up most of the loose ends, but leaving just enough to connect it to the next installment in the Polygene universe.
v1.10 also stomps some bugs that led some players to be unable to maximize points with some love interests in certain scenarios. Some of these are fixed trans parently, and the most egregious of which will require a new playthrough beginning at Ch9. That save should be present on page 99 of your saves in the 10th slot.
v1.01
Now onto the big reason for this patch:
For those of you who felt burned by the outcome of the casual path for the two main LI's, we know we dropped the ball.
While we feel the girls' dissatisfaction with the casual arrangement was adequately telegraphed, we also never provided an offramp for the player to right the ship. That both violates the spirit of our "no gotcha" statement at the beginning of the game, and it's objectively obvious that the result was unduly punitive.
I (Stoya) take ownership for that as the writer, and legitimately felt gut-punched the moment I realized that no escape hatch had been provided. I can only offer my word that it wasn't intentional or malicious, and began planning a fix for this the moment I realized the enormity of the miss.
As such, we are adding a scene to Chapter 9 near the beginning after the Lexi concert. This scene will provide two choices where the player can exercise agency before the girls start making decisions on his behalf.
To be clear, it will NOT add endings that were never planned for, nor does it violate the integrity of the story as planned. I also want to point out that this scene does not exist in a bubble just to change a variable. The fact that this scene occurred will be reflected in other conversations throughout the chapter.
If the player was on a committed path, the scene will offer no stat changes and they have no need to replay. There will just be be some banter and a little more visible bonding between primary characters.
TL;DR This only impacts saves that were on the casual path with Mallory and Jaye.
v1.0
As of today, Chasing Sunsets contains just shy of 16000 renders, 200K words of story and dialogue, nearly 150 pieces of music, and nearly 300 different sound effects.
Our game contains nearly 100 different characters with speaking roles, and has 204 achievements.
Chapter 9 explores a world that has grown smaller for our protagonists after returning from the island. Against the continued threats from the usual suspects, Mallory wants to return to the fun she and the main character had the first time they met: Outdoors with no labels on their relationship.
Needless to say, Mallory is well aware of Jaye's bungalow adventure with the main character, so she knows the bar has been set pretty high. Will she be up to the challenge?
Meanwhile, Jaye is wrestling with the specter of her medical school dreams evaporating, and all of this while the pressure is still on from their government and corporate enemies to nip the threat posed by Mallory's existence in the bud.
We will see some new faces as well as revisit a few from earlier chapters as events converge on a trajectory that, unsurprisingly, ends where it began.
There are changes beyond the content addition. You'll notice a new main menu with updates to dated animation, and improvements throughout the UI.
Additionally, Kent added his first animations to replace the slideshow lewd psuedo-animations scenes in the Prologue and Ch1.
Where do we go from here? Chasing Sunsets moved on from Early Access on purchase platforms today. While we will add one more content update, and modernize the oldest parts, our focus will begin moving toward our next project, Firebreak.
We hope you enjoy Chapter 9 as much as we enjoyed making it. We hope you laugh a little, maybe get a little bit of the feels, and, of course, enjoy our ladies doing what they do best.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us on this project. We couldn't do it without you, and we hope what we do next only raises the bar.

Fixed:
Fixed coding issue that resulted in poor animation performance during the hotel scene
Pathing issue Fixed: If MC rejected Mallory at end of Ch5, it does not end her path, but Ch7 failed to allow the player to continue a physical relationship with her.
Two variables were duplicated from Ch6. They are not story-critical for the most part, but a replay is worthwhile to avoid weird dialogue in Ch8 onwards.
Fixed erroneous reporting in the Chapter Summary about how the MC handled his chat with Jaye when he returned her phone.
Reverted an error in Chapter 2 where a variable was malformed. (Recording if the player hugged Jaye after she arrived on the yacht)
Made the trigger for the Erica phone chat in Ch7 more forgiving, and corrected dialogue to accurately reflect MC's behavior up to that point.
Lowered the love requirement with Mallory to ask Sophie to replicate Bandit from 34 to 31. This value is achievable without pursuing her romantically.
Corrected numerous spelling errors, typos, and flawed grammar.
Outstanding issues:
Some players have reported broken saves.

First Release
This was a really engaging and memorable AVN. It fast became one of my favourites in how the story kept me hooked. The soundtrack is also one of it's underrated gems, Blame It On The Heart is still one of my favourite AVN songs to this day. My only gripe is how the ending of the story was carried out, as all the side path endings felt rushed, while the whole conundrum of how to get the throuple path with Jaye and Mallory was complicated unnecessarily, otherwise, this novel was a lovely experience.
Story: 10/10 Renders: 8.5/10 Animation: 7.5/10 Sound: 6/10 Characters: 9/10 Amount of choices: 8/10 Amount of lewd content: 7.5/10 Lewd content variety: 5/10 I absolutely love the story and the characters. I can't wait for future content.
Good game, very story driven so don't expect a sex scene every few minutes. The renders are pretty good as well, animation is pretty basic when compared to others but i'm not complaining. Hope the creator makes a new game because i quite enjoyed this one.
Awesome game love it, the girls are just gorgeous! Excellent story, emotional, funny, reminds me of a life i wish i had.Only thing i wish it has was pregnancy would of made it more complete to me other than that cannot fault this game , i hope the developer does another great game like this
Overall good game. A lot to like here, especially Amanda! Though, choices aren't as impactful to the story other than a moderate change to the ending. The choices need to be more impactful to the endings but then production costs would have spiked so I get it..
Low GOONING potential. Story is intriguing but the dialogue gets longer as the game progresses. Especially court section took way too long. I just skipped through the last 2 parts or so. Also all the side characters (except from Annette) are more beautiful than the two main heroines. Jaye was mostly beautiful but Mallory's expression felt uncanny and her glass skin and weird skin tone was uncanny.
This truly is a top tier visual novel,If you are looking for an amazing story filled with drama, romance and light-hearted moments than this is the visual novel for you. I just honestly can't put it into words how much I have been moved by the story in this VN. Stoya and Kentyrr have made such an amazing VN here and deserve all the support.
TL;DR: Worth a playthrough, one of the best VN's I ever played, the scenes are great but the story is the best thing about this VN. Rating: 8/10 Fav Character: Mallory Spoiler: Full Review With Spoilers Honestly, I would have gave this game a 10/10 but the fact that you're forced to split the company with Jaye anyway greatly disappointed me. Other than that, there really no flaws besides continuously trying to force Jaye onto the MC, but she is the main LI so it's very understandable. The fact that the dev(s) let us compete with Jaye the entire "competition" and then force us to split the company anyway is just dumb to me but I can understand the reason for it. It should have been possible for the players like myself who disliked Jaye to win the company alone or at least give us an option to pick to split the company at not. Besides that, I loved everything about the game besides Jaye. At first I planned to give her a chance, but it was immediately over when she brought Christian onto the yacht just to be petty. She was petty and annoying the entire game, only character that might be worse than her is her bestfriend.
It's a masterpiece! A must-play! It's no wonder everyone suggests it amongst favorites AVNs. The humor, the sexy scenes, the options, the memorable LIs (and their polyamory ending! At last someone knows that there are times where you can't just choose one over the other, so they added a certain path to have both!) And the ending is a chef's kiss! It could have ended sooner, but then there would be things missing, and as you reach the finish line, you feel more and more content!
Magnificent writing and excellent visuals. Some of the text exchanges were comedic gold, especially around the end. One of the few games with truly rewarding outcomes, and the teasing of crossovers with Artemis and the future story(ies) is *chef's kiss*, whether or not we see them come to fruition.
Another great game with a good story and good ending, the MC goes away for a few years for a certain reason but comes back when he gets a call about some bad news and when he comes back he can chase after his first love or a few other girls/options. Story. 9/10 Sex. 8/10 Characters. 8.5/10 Renders. 8/10
Excellent AVN, probably in my top 5 all time Awesome LIs, likeable MC, and good renders. Production wise, this game is near perfect. In my opinion the story lacks sometimes, I wished there were a better antagonist, or villain. Also, when animated, the scenes are GREAT, but there's a lack of animation in the rest of the novel Loved the game, it's a 9/10 for me
This game is really sweet and gorgeous, featuring beautiful character designs and enjoyable ending variations. However, the dialogues are absolutely the worst, especially the bed talk between the main hero and his sister, which is pure cringe. It would honestly be miles better if they just used grunting noises instead of the awkward lines. While the visuals and story elements are appealing, the dialogues really take away from the overall enjoyment.
In my opinion this game only does two things right. 1. Good production, 2. it actually completed. Besides that I don't see much merit in this game, though the two things it does do right are missing in most games on this website. The authors really try to write a good story with this game but it doesn't do it for me personally. Both LIs feel lame and the protagonist is not relatable nor interesting. The game relies on giving characters sad or "tragic" backstories to make them interesting which feels a bit cheap. A lot of times it feels like the character's backstories are more important that what they have actually done in the game. The side girls give themselves to the protagonist too easily, I don't like it when you get rewarded for doing nothing. I don't think there is anything wrong with anyone who actually likes this game but it just doesn't do anything for me and feels a bit soulless. Still worth an install if you don't mind info dumps and endless exposition IMO.
Gave it a good try, wanted to get through the whole thing but had to quit in Chapter 2 when someone said "Well, that happened." It's admittedly a first attempt at a VN and there are many signs of this. Chasing Sunsets fumbles a lot and tries to do too much for a first attempt. It's not sexy and none of these people act like human beings. Characters are said to be close, but nothing about how they interact displays it effectively. Choices are claimed to reward emotional intelligence but it falls into the familiar pitfalls that many first try VNs do. If you want it to be more of a novel, that's fine; you can tell the reader what people are feeling and what they think. If you want to embrace the interactive elements, then experiences should be directed towards the player. I know because the game showed me (without much subtlety) that my sister is in love with the MC and vice versa. I, the player, make choices based off of that because I want the MC to bone her. The game doesn't let me, nor award me, because the characters aren't ready. But the player in the VN has all the information they need! You've combined the two fundamental aspects of visual novels in the worst way. Look, if you want to do this *Love* and *Trust* mechanic that's fine, but it's lost on the player how that actually impacts their experience. Do you want the player making decisions based on how they feel or which choice makes the most numbers pop up? I almost quit when the MC had an errand to run on the freezing cold mountain, and said to another character "I'll come inside after I'm done." and she was like "whoa haha that sounds dirty." This would not be an issue in a lot of these cheap little DAZ3D porn games but if you 're going to try more mature and serious themes you need to have the maturity to back it up. v1.10a
Chasing Sunsets v1.10a is a high-production visual novel with multiple paths, created by Stone Fox Studios and enriched with the beautiful details expected from an experienced developer in the genre. The story focuses primarily on family legacy and reconciliation. The protagonist returns to his family’s life, ready to face an ocean of emotional baggage and resolve his situation with his non-negotiable step-sister, all while dealing with adversaries and pursuing multiple romances across a lengthy ten chapter narrative. The main plot is strong, perhaps a bit too business focused, but still outstanding. Unfortunately, it loses a bit of its way after the mid-game, when the emotional rollercoaster begins to resemble a soap opera, propped by unnecessary events that could have been trimmed to improve pacing and the delivery of adult content. While the story remains solid, it is not without cracks, particularly due to its excessive length and how the ten chapters are stretched toward an ending that feels unmistakably rushed. The characters contribute positively, each having their own level of uniqueness and narrative responsibility. However, they strangely share the same comedic rhythm in their dialogue, regardless of context or purpose. This results in characters occasionally blending into a single comedic personality, heavily reliant on movie and internet references. When multiple characters repeat the same type of joke, it can pull the player out of the important moments. Visually, the girls are simply gorgeous, each with a wide range of expressions. Stone Fox Studios clearly understands how to create impressive models and utilize them during scenes, with help of a very detailed writing that guides the player through the visual experience. There are numerous well-built scenes featuring great performances by many models, and the gallery offers a welcome opportunity to revisit these moments. The game’s plot encourages the players either to pursue a clearly intended romance or to engage with every available option, both paths leading to an expected but satisfying conclusion. While Chasing Sunsets offers a generous amount of adult content, it remains firmly rooted in vanilla themes and romantic moments, limiting the more colorful elements often found in the genre. Overall, Chasing Sunsets is a very good visual novel crafted with evident care and passion. It falls just slightly short of being truly fantastic.
Games is realy great, only downside is i think its too long, i dont know, feels like writer trying to make it longer for no reason. also i pretty soon falled in love with sister, and seems like developer was not ready for that, because seemed to easy to be in love and decisions was not even hard dilemas or had some outcome twists. Also when i started to feel i am in so strong love relationship with my sister i started too feel like there is nothing more to be discover . in the last chapters started some wierd bs its just destroyed all vibe. overall game is good but she could end in less chapters would win more i think. Writing is briliant, decisions is lacking, sex scenes is good. still enjoyed my time in chasing sunsets.
Long story short. This is among the better games here. I might have been a steady fan until i was forced to play the ending and abandon the harem hope. But I replayed and found a few things to be annoying enough. You might enjoy this quite a ways in. But the ending could make you regret playing. I tend to regret playing non harem (ending) games that give me multiple good LIs. But you're not me so now context below. Should you choose a no reconciliation route. The two main characters will behave and think as if their roles in the separation are minor and the other is incorrigible. If you choose full reconciliation.... The mc found time to sneak and block his number before leaving after their bridge was burned a-la scorched earth tsundere? Or he went ahead and blocked it as soon as he decided to stand up for family? Spoiler: Gripes. Don't add up and some just don't work for me Or the lengthy enough period of thumps and bumbs the mc overhead were not from the attempted and successful rape? (It's attempted as story lore but the commotion seemed to go for a while before any indication of the FLs displeasure. They fought silently for a long time before she eventually used her voice? Then... The attempt rapist becomes an itachi?! Rape attempt was for insecurities and he's actually gay? Then later we saw him at the law firm sporting bruises and a black eye from another boyfriend beating him up for making a move on that guy's girl?? Later we learn he's gay, but is he keeping up the f facade and hurting himself to keep the facade up? Then turns out the deceased main characters' mother saved this guy and now he looks up to her but still deliberately irritated both mains until we start seeing his character in their favor?! So like Itachi's "hate me! But i would die for you!" Except less exaggerated? Then the FL who couldn't connect with anyone but her bestie gf had dates that went all the way but she made them work for it? I'm not "DAMNATION TO YOU SHE NEEDED TO BE A VIRGIN" as much as i wouldn't complain about it. The ML did the same. But in these dates, it's implied she had a date with another VN mc and his girl and more likely than not did them as a one tine thing? It seemed incredibly random and not consistent with her character. But it probably connects to another LI who is a "sex and love are not the same" believer. Hence a consistent enough worldview. I suppose the whole verse might be that way as there is a bit of implications that the deceased parents were folk who believed in monogamous commitment while we see them in flashbacks until a picture implies they were very open minded or swingers ... Go figure. Should you choose full reconciliation. It may seem like both moved on and grew so much from the separating incident that they now fall over themselves to get each other into bed? The game never had a harem for the end. Even though the FL connected to another vns main couple who currently gave the mc a minor harem. I'm not sure why this would be done except to give the player hope to have the cake and eat it too. Another thing that seems like the girls will support harem is when they support and encourage the mc behaving like he and a divorcee have been getting it on to counter the exhubs who humiliates her for a bit. But yeah. I'm one of the folk who says a porn fans should not give you multiple LIs only to make you choose one and part ways with the others. If we wanted that, we would just go to bars irl and work on hook-up culture until we and send SO get a settling down bug.
This is simply an ideal visual novel with great story and gorgeous renders. You even get a reasonable difference on your choices, so I replayed it twice and both times it was great. Don't miss it out!
Not perfect, prolonged, especially prologue but if you push through boredom in some episodes you'll get unforgettable impressions. Visual and graphics Not great but very decent. The main LIs have model looks, perfect tan, thx that some other characters looks more like ordinary people even with model bodies. Animation Limited, sometimes very simple. Sound Same as animations even more limited. Text, dialogues Difficult for non-native English speakers, a lot of movie and tv show references but it's a positive property. Characters feel alive, natural, sex talk included. Gameplay, replayability It's a simple vn, dating sim with mattered choices. You won't want to replay for other endings during your first walkthough. Very prolonged, using same methods to squeeze your tears, even twice "Luke i'm your father". But after viewing the entire story, you realize that it is a complete work of art with it's own disadvantages. I wanted to watch scenes with other girls and complete few achievements (there are nearly 200 of them). Conclusion It turned out that i summed up it in gameplay section. It has interesting, consistent and smooth story evoking a variety of emotions and a great work has been put in this project.
