PROS + The game has some detailed story/lore/plot going on. + Some small story contents like Cassian's story, Ayak & Heralt's love story, Matilda & her son's story, etc, were kinda emotional and likeable. + The whole MC learning new powers/techniques, etc, is kinda interesting, especially Sword Dao techniques he inherited from old man Cassian are quite good, since he learns them slowly along the way, sometimes even mid-fight. With this Contest between Sect disciplines was kinda interesting, and MC's match against Ashton was kinda good as well, it lacked giving us some control over that. + Personality of MC in Chapter 4 is quite likeable, he is focused, calm, affectionate, smart, resourceful, powerful as he can be with his current level, maybe even beyond that, determined, and overall a good MC to read. + While most girls' paths were handled poorly, or handled well until some point, and ended poorly in the end, Vannyr's path was handled quite well. Her path was well-written, progressed well, and natural, with how she came to the point where she started to crave for MC's love and affection, and reached a peak, and blossomed with them, making love. She didn't just have good romance development with the MC, but improved her own personality over the years she spent with the MC as well, and became a really loveable love interest, one of the best ones I have seen, I dare to say. + Some of the characters have quite good models, like Vannyr, for both face and body design. + Some of the skills/powers have animations, kinda immersive. + Sex scenes are animated, and Vannyr's sex scenes in Chapter 4 were quite good, good foreplay that is quite hot/sexy, emotions, and dialogues to support the sex scene, good physics, lightning, quality, and FPS values, etc. CONS - Especially the first chapter, chapter 2, and chapter 3 Story/Lore/Plot is kinda confusing, and boring at a lot of points thanks to the game throwing way too much info on you constantly, but it gets better with Chapter 4. - Most of the time, time-skips are not well made; they are just skipped with texts like ''2 weeks later, " "1 month later, " or ''6 years later'' with showing literally or almost nothing at all. Rare ones in Chapter 4 actually show some stuff happened, but even they didn't show almost nothing about what happened to the other main characters, and only showed MC's POV, so we saw years passed with no info from the MC's LIS, etc. And the amount of time spent is illogical as well, things takes too much time, it's already bad that MC of the story taken soo many years to cultivate, but how MC focused on himself, and not shown almost any scene he wondered about people he love like Yua, Liana, Elina, Astrid, Serena, etc, was illogical as well. Along with this, there is a whole gag about Vannyr being heavily injured, and she keeps losing 200 years of cultivation, and her cultivation is permanently damaged at almost every fight, which is ridiculous, 200 years? For real? 10, 20, or maybe 30 years of loss may be understandable; heck, even 50 years, maybe? But losing 200 years of cultivation multiple times? That's beyond stupid. - All Soul Weavers named as ''Soul Weaver none of them have shown with an actual name, even the most important ones like the guy who killed Vannyr's father, and sneak attacked her 200 years ago, etc, and it makes the whole thing confusing for no reason. - The game really likes to ruin its own good potential scenes for no reason. For despite how poorly done the whole Sect getting attacked/destroyed by the Soul Order the whole MC becoming master of the Celestial Sword, and Sword Goddess, and going after Thaler and Soul Order who attacked the Sect was cool, but to ruin this writers decide to let Thaler to be saved from the 3 Sword Attack limit MC given, and he had to use the 4th Sword Attack, despite his Inner Saunctum cracking, and even with this Thaler wasn't still dead, he escaped, and MC's Inner Sanctum got damaged soo much he had to fight/endure the souls coming after Celestial Sword users, while he is fighting with them in his mind, seeing Cassian, Layla, his mother, etc, outside he lost control fully (classic MC losing his control trope) and he kept attacking Yua, and Atto, yeah for some reason jelaous Atto come and attacked MC in this whole mess, then MC's Inner Sanctum keep getting worse, necklace tried to help, MC destroyed it, and Yua had to use Blood Sacrifice technique while trying to wake him up, then his Inner Sanctum got destroyed, and MC started to die while his body disintegrates into thin air, he would be dead if he wasn't saved by the Vannyr, but still his Inner Sanctum was in shambles, his cultivation method changed, his level dropped significantly, and even more problems around his powers created. And all they had to do here was not ruin things with ass pulls, and let MC beat Thaler without needing the 4th Sword Attack, and not create all this unnecessary stuff. Then later on we had the whole MC's fight against some sects, they were after the Orb, and he hold his back against them quite well, but at last part writers decided to ruin it again by making one of his attacks drop big boulder on where Vannyr meditating, he catched it to save her, and when he did he got attacked by poisones blade, and got beaten like loser, and even when he used Dark powers to beat them he still couldn't win, he killed some, but still was beaten into a sorry state he injured quite badly, and has to be saved by the Vannyr again. Then we have the whole Vannyr saying MC that she has to keep her virginity because to inherit the throne she needs approval from most of the twelwe royal houses, only way to get this is gain the blessing of the Mother Demon, and one of requirements is bodily purity, so she has to keep her virginity, and this makes literally zero sense, instead of doing something soo stupid they should simply make her to say she is not comfortable enough to have vaginal sex for now if they wanted to keep her as 600 years old virgin, not use this poor-writing execuse. - Especially at first 3 chapters lots of powerful people, even a whole Soul Order being after the MC, he is being in constant danger, things keep happening out of his control/choice, and we keep seing scenes where he has to be saved/guarded by others, etc, ruins the whole fluid story telling, one second you enjoying a contest, next second he gots kidnapped by someone powerful, one second you have having romantic moments with a girl, next second Soul Order invades the Sect to come after him, and he has to be saved by Aetherius, Elina, Astrid, Vannyr or someone like that, let alone how annoying this whole thing is, it makes things even worse that innocent people keep getting hurt or die just because of people coming after the MC, and he is being weak to protect himself, I mean come on, literally whole Sword Sect got destroyed by the Soul Order just to get MC, this is simply ridicilous. It wouldn't fix the whole poor-writing revolving around this, but at least in a story-telling like this MC shouldn't been this weak, and should have given way more OP powers (he is still extordinary, but it's not enough, not enough to keep himself safe, or people he love, literally one of love interests in the game died because of how weak he is) to balance the things out. And like dangers from outside are not enough we have the whole ''mole'' thing happened, or annoying characters from ''good people'' side that coming after MC like Ashton, or his brothers after MC beat him in contest fair ans square, this whole thing makes the whole story something unnatural and forced since all they are trying to do is create a bothersome enviorement for the MC from every possible side. And even after necklace got destroyed, and at last MC was laying low, training to get more powerful to protect himself and loved ones, after he breakthrough to Qi Mastery we got another thing, a Orb that a lot of people after it, so things gone back the way it is, he got attacked by multiple more powerful people than him, got beaten into a sorry state, and got saved by Vannyr, and lost the Orb. - Some of the non-dark path scenes are not in place. If you are on that path, you literally don't have the Chapter 4 non-dark path choice scenes, and this is simply unacceptable. Releasing an unfinished update with unfinished content is a no-no; they should cut some of the scenes from the end and instead finish that small part. - Some of the girls' paths were handled badly with unnecessary drama and poor writing. First oe is Zula, the game first teased that if her Soul Emblem will kept at some Cultivation Level MC can actually give her a new body, and revive her, but then writers just dumps this into trash, and makes her to give her all Qi to MC, and make her soul disappear (she fully dies) Second one is Serena, for no reason her story written on a way putting her into constant opression from her father (family leader) to become powerful, he is never satisfied, and even says he will marry her off if she won't become powerful enough in short time (which is especially stupid since she is already quite powerful for her age) and we have the whole she embracing her feelings with MC slowly, both of them accepting they are in love, but then while they are kissing getting interrupted by her friend and Golden Lotus member, she asked MC to get stronger, and train hard and hugged like last time when she was back, and next day she treating MC cold as ice, asking MC to forget things happened between them, she is full of regret about things happened, and asked him to keep his distance with her, leave her alone, etc, clearly this is not the end of this nonsense drama, and writers probably gonna make her fail to reach goals put by her father, and MC will have to fight against other people who wanna court her, etc, and that hug with saying ''train hard, get powerful'' was to ask MC to be ready for competition to marry her later on. Then we have Yua, MC's childhood friend, and ''soulmate'' as he says, which makes the whole plot about how MC and his ''soulmate'' lost touch for 5 years only because her parents moved into a different city seriousy stupid, not to talk about she actually liked him all that time, and regret not saying him that she liked him, and when she was about to say she liked him at Festival she got confessionblocked by Fireworks, and couldn't make her confession to the MC... Then we have Layla, her path was going quite good actually, very stable, but it only lasted until the moment writers decided MC to scumb into his meeting with his mother in Soul Realm, and she has to sacrifice herself for the MC, and in this magical word where spells, etc, exist nothing can be done to save her, sure makes soo much sense. And plus to this we learned she was actually just a part of the Sword Goddess (the mind of the Celestial Sword) created by her, Sword Goddess said such a waste she died, she spent thousands of years to craft that ''vessel'' and she was going to become her perfect host, then formed bond with the MC making him the final master of the Celestial Sword, and her, she somehow like Layla, and says experienced Layla's memories, and even some of her feelings, and feels some affection to the MC, but she is not sure that how these things works, or she is Layla or Layla is her, etc, she seems kinda jelaous over Vannyr as well. - Along with that, some of the characters have rough introductions for no reason. For example, Yua is kinda that cliche FMC that punches people for small stuff like someone saying she is short, she gets better later on, still, her first impression is bad. Then we have Liana, at first, in the instruction scenes, and scenes she acted in a cold way, and Yua even told they call her ''Ice Queen'' which is kinda fitting, later on she gets better, even becomes kinda cute. Then we have Dyna, who treats MC like a pervert and insults him constantly until he saves her life, then she gets better. Then we have the Vannyr. She was quite cold when they first met, and she forcefully binds MC to herself, and had the whole Royalty act. She gets better with time, and at the end of Chapter 4, she is almost a different person and very lovable, but still doesn't change. Her instruction was rough. - We have some really annoying and dislikeable characters as well, like Ashton, and his lackeys (Winston, etc), Ashton's brothers, almost any Soul Weaver members, and most Sect people. For no reason, Sect people seem to be portrayed as egoistic assholes. - We have the whole cliche MC's powers constantly causing problems trope, at first he can't access his powers at all because of it, then later he constantly have problems with chaos inside of him threatening his cultivation, then at some point things becomes even worse, his whole Inner Sanctum gets destroyed, and his cultivation method changes into Ghost Cultivation, risky one (because he can lose control again like he did against Yua and hurt her)and a dark one that a lot of cultivators will see MC as enemy, even Demons, so the more story progress his powers gets even more problematic to handle, we even have MC's anger, pain, hatreed, and resentment formeing into consciousness the moment he teached Qi Mastery in Chapter 4. - In most situations, your choices don't really matter, like when you first meet with Dyna & Layla, even if you choose not to spy on them, you still drop down from the roof, and are branded as a pervert, and are treated like shit by Dyna, which is seriously stupid. - Most fights give you no control at all. Having some choice-based optional QTE options would be great, will give small control over fights, and make them more enjoyable. - Most character designs can use some changes, especially their noses, and how small their nose tips are, and the lines they have at the bottom of their eyes looks kinda weird as well. And even tho after time-skips he started to look better, MC still looks like just a common dude, and not the Main Protagonist of the game. - Especially at first, the 3 chapters' visual quality and lightning are not really good, chapter 4 seems better, but the game still can use some visual quality improvements and better lightning. - The game fails with making the girls' paths reach their peak with sexual stuff happening, affection, confessions, romance development, tension, etc, are all there, but the sex is not there when it should happen. Vannyr's path is how other girls' paths should have been handled (minus the bullshit excuse for the virginity), but sadly, most of the girls paths were handled poorly, considering how Vannyr was handled at Chapter 4, maybe writers will handle other girls paths better in future updates tho, who knows. - Sometimes the game just goes into full silent mode with no music or any type of sound at all, really weird. - The font used for names looks awful; it's really hard to read some of the names. - There are some visual bugs like clothing textures going through the body textures, especially girls with skirts have a lot of them while sitting, or flickering lights in sex scene animations like Layla's first sex scene, etc. Or text going beyond the screen when it's too long. - Chapters ends with cliffhangers, which is annoying, it should end with clear ending, without stopping at very curicial point, for example Chapter 4 ends when MC get caught while he is infiltirating the Mystic Nether Sect, but before that point there were multiple parts the chapter could end, and it won't end with cliffhanger, and that would be way better than this. VERDICT While I kinda respect the amount of story/lore/plot the game has, and how good at least most of the Chapter 4 was it's still a fact that first 3 chapter written poor AF, and even certain parts of Chapter 4 still has some mistakes done in Chapter 3, so it fails to fully reedeem the game, considering everthing I talked objectivelly don't see this game deserving more than this rating, it's worth playing, but until the Chapter 4 you might wanna endure some poorly-written stuff, so keep in mind before starting.

Great game, mixes some Visual novel elements with some great action scenes. If you enjoy the Xianxia genre or want to explore a different worldview, then this game is perfect for you. It seamlessly blends the storytelling of mortals and cultivators, marking the beginning of their journey in a way that both veterans of the genre and newcomers will recognize, making it easy for them to get sucked into the story.

Great game. The theme is unique in the AVN scene, it feels fresh and different compared to others. Not to mention, the power system is one of the cleanest and most consistent I’ve seen. The world building is also very solid and adds a lot to the overall experience.

This is easily one of the more refreshing AVNs I’ve played. the xianxia setting already makes it different, but what surprised me more is how well it’s handled. the story is interesting, the characters are likeable, and it doesn’t feel as repetitive as most games in the genre. definitely worth checking out.

Cross Realms stands out by doing something most AVNs don’t even attempt a proper xianxia setting with meaningful world-building. the story has a strong sense of direction, and the way it builds its lore makes the experience feel immersive rather than surface-level. combined with solid character writing, it ends up being one of the more unique and engaging AVNs available right now.

Review for v0.4.1: What can I say, this AVN, in particular, stirred something in me, and that alone makes it far more memorable than many games I’ve played. It’s not that this is the peak AVN, nor would I call it my peak AVN, but it definitely sits among my favorites. I’d say the beginning isn’t what makes it stand out. It’s how the writer gradually develops the plot. You can really feel that refinement over time. It’s commendable to see how the story grows and eventually takes shape. I think this is my first proper exposure to cultivation type stories. I’ve usually ignored them, they seemed okay, but never really hooked me. But this game changed that. It kept me playing up to the latest update and genuinely made me appreciate the genre. The music, the characters, and the worldbuilding are some of the most memorable I’ve experienced across all the AVNs I’ve played. The handling of the harem and certain other elements has also been done really well in the recent updates. Now for some nitpicks. Things I personally would’ve preferred: The sense of time passing feels off. When it says two weeks, it often feels like two minutes or maybe a couple of days at best. Also, while the game leans into a more casual vibe, it could’ve been more immersive if we felt the weight of being in an unknown world, the fear of leaving Earth behind, the initial urgency to return, and then the gradual shift as those feelings fade and the character adapts to this new life. The power dynamics also don’t always feel consistent. Lower-level cultivators interacting casually with higher level ones feels a bit off at times. And I do feel the absence of strong male characters and not masters, but peers. Fellow male cultivators in the main circle, friendly rivals, or even competitors to the protagonist. The only one that stands out is his buddy. Even though I’d personally prefer a grittier world, it’s still incredibly immersive. And honestly, what surprised me most was how emotional it got. The scene with the mother and her son Lenard, followed by the fireworks moment. It genuinely hit me. Very few AVNs have managed to do that. Sure, there are others that are more immersive overall, but this one brought back some old memories and struck something deep. I’m not usually an emotional person, and I don’t tend to dwell on such feelings, but this one got to me. Thank you, dev. Best of luck!

I've been on a little sidequest for a few years now, to find an actually well-written xianxia story. Well, my quest continues, but I was still pleasantly surprised because some characters are actually likable. I mean, the worldbuilding is a mess, despite having clearly defined power levels, they mean less than nothing more often than not, characters withhold information from you that doesn't make sense for them to do, and there is a lot of what I call "grocery list writing" where the MC just reiterates his own plans for the future like the reader doesn't already know. But all in all, I had fun, I was pleasantly surprised, and I will come back for more.

When i finished the game (started 4.1) i thought to myself that this is the most 4 star game i have ever played. And while it could be interpreted as a mid review, i really love this game. One reason being that the developper really put so much work in it ! There are so many models, clothes, environments, lore, number of renders etc... the amount of time to do all of this must be insane (like the fights scenes who have more renders than lines of dialogue wth). So why is it 4 stars ? Because so many aspects of this game are just "good" : writing, renders, LI, scenes etc...So if i had to compare it to a game that i would rate 5 stars like Eternum, then it clearly isn't at the same level. Story : Story and lore are not like other typical VNs as it takes place in a Wuxia world, it progresses at a good pace and makes me want to know what happens next. MC : Is a generic shonen manga MC that only think of protecting people around him, but is still likeable. LI : They are beautiful, but maybe too similair in body/face shapes. H Scenes : There was an improvement in the last update but they are generally too short and too generic. Maybe spend less time on the fight scenes and more on the animations ? Also too much blue balling. What i think could really be better : - Some cliché narrative tropes... like the "character is about to tell you something or do something important but just as say it something happen so you are either blue ball of cliffhanged". And that is never a good narrative trick and it happens a bit too often for me. - Balance between story and H, there's a LOT of story between each scenes. Hope this game will not die and continue to improve !

This is just so peak, vanny is like one of the best LI's. Right from the world-building, the character design, the models, the dialogues everything is just objectively good. The dark path is also an interesting choice. The LI's are written nicely, very refreshing and just engaging to read the conversations. The combat is just chef's kiss though i would've preferred more RPG elements like i wish the player would've had more choices to make during the combat, but anyway this is also fine. The worst thing about this is when it ends, nah fr this is just high quality stuff that everyone should play.

Just finished playing cross realms for the first time and oh boy it was a treat. the idea of combining wuxia and visual novels is cool as heck and since i had experience in reading wuxia novels it was pretty easy to keep up with the story. first all of the fight scenes are honestly top tier and some are just fucking amazing my jaw just drops. second all of the girls are so beautiful and hot as hell but damn i would have had no problem if this story just ended with Vanny and MC living in the village peacefully together or if it was just the two of them cause Vanny is best girl. watching them bond together and spending 6 years getting closer to each other and just living that village life was nice. i really liked how shit hit the fan in chapter 3 and i was in disbelief watching what happened to Layla. i love all the funny scenes and dialogue that make me laugh watching the girls argue over MC and get jealous of one another was hilarious. I'll be honest the timeskip at the latest chapter took me by surprise but in wuxia 6 years isn't alot. When the next update hits ill be here no matter what and for some reason this reminds me of companion of darkness another good one on here but if i had to think of novels i would say childhood friend of the zenith but instead of isekai its reincarnation if anyones interasted. This one gets my stamp of approval and i can't wait for the MC to slowly become a QI god one day and most importantly reunite with all his girls.

v0.4 review man. this game is exhausting to play, which is something you don't hear often about VNs. but trying to follow the action and everything going on is....a bit dizzying, i'll be honest. For the most part, this game plays a lot like Stray Incubus, until a major plot point happens. The isekai element isn't super relevant, not even when its brought up directly. When it's not being a weird pseudo-harem AVN and making the female characters act almost completely out of character in order to have them be sexually interested and active with the MC, it's filled with a lot of Wuxia fight scenes, training montages, and cultivation jargon. And my god, there's so much wuxia/cultivation mumbo jumbo, it's actually a bit annoying. The girls suffer from a lot of the same problems that HS2 models suffer from--torpedo tits, glassy eyes, and very samey faces amongst the whole stable, almost. The only thing really differentiating most of them are hair color differences, and glasses for some of them. But then most of them have their hair turn white anyways so it's even more confusing. That said, they all have pretty big tits, some bigger than others, and none of them are 'ugly', per say, but they aren't really all that attractive either. Many of them are obnoxious and abusive--huge turnoffs for me. Outfits range from boring to kinda sexy, but are well designed otherwise. The visuals are a bit of a mixed bag. The environments are generally decent, not amazing, but didn't really interrupt my immersion at least. The fights are obviously stars of the show, with how much detail is put into them, and they play out a lot like a japanese shounen anime (imagine if DBZ was a wuxia anime made by japanese studios, and that's basically 99% of this game). However, while many of the visual effects for the game look tolerable, even decent, several of them broke my immersion, both in design, execution, and actual asset used and how its used. Some of them are just ugly, and some of them just don't fit. Which is kind of a shame. And I think that's where my biggest issue with this game comes in--the plot. There are instances where the writers are pantsing it, instances where they copy wholesale from other series like DBZ or Journey to the West or other animes and stories,. There are instances where characters act entirely out of character to justify a sex scene or for the MC to survive otherwise ironclad opposition. Instances where the entire plot moves out of position or alignment, or things are simply handwaved in order for Protag-kun to survive or start his cultivation journey again and again and again. There are entire clans of baddies who have literally nothing to do with the plot, characters, the shujinko, or anyone else, other than to serve as a foil for shujinko-kun to express his disdain upon their faces. The constant re-cultivation he has to endure, the constant forgetting of items he's acquired, only for the most recent item to come up, the fact that it takes him about a decade to be anywhere near useful to anyone else, and he's still a big pushover baby bitch, both to women he encounters and to others who aggress upon him....it's just all so cringe and cliche. This cringe is amplified by the fact that it has such an anime presentation. I mean, the guy basically has a hollow form that haunts him the entire game. No joke. The sex scenes are....short, few and far between, and aren't anything to write home about. I couldn't make it all the way through the game, but I only encountered 2 actual vaginal intercourse scenes, and one of em was with a sort of ghost/hallucination type deal, so does that really count? The choices don't really seem to matter much at all. It seemed like there was a point earlier on where different choices might have made a bigger difference, and likely gotten you more points with different girls, but at a certain point in the story, you lose contact with most of the other female characters, so it doesn't really matter? It doesn't make sense, really, for that to be a thing in the rest of the game, either way. Spoiler: The thing that made me stop playing... was when shujinko is in the fight with the three different cultivator clans above the Qi lake, and you have a choice to let your hollow ichigo out, or keep him hidden, but if you keep it hidden, it literally says "Path not yet developed". I kinda lost my shit at that point, and couldn't continue. Why offer the choice, if the choice didn't matter? The rough english is not super bad but it has taken me out of the immersion a few times, had to do a few double takes for checking how something was specifically phrased/ All in all, I would probably give this lower, but, it obviously took a lot of time to sequence and compose the actions scenes, and technically, though it is through the worst kind of narrative mechanisms, the story does actually work. Mostly. 2.5/5, or 5/10

Without spoiling anything Just go play The story is perfect The pacing gets better and better The sex scenes are hot , a perfect blend of tension, setup, statics and animations The biggest strength of this AVN, that sets it apart from others is the visuals The statics are absolutely gorgeous, every frame feels like a painting Dev has put some serious effort into world building and it shows, Every asset is unique and you won't find them in other AVNs, where a lot are reused Only cons: The initial chapters are a bit rough on the edges, but once the story and characters set up is complete, it just keeps getting better and better Dev is isn't a native English speaker and it shows , but it does not affect the story or the dialogues, just a few grammatical errors

I'm having a tough time rating this one. The graphics are good and the scenes are set up in a visually interesting way. The writing is fun and engaging. I want to rate it 4 stars because of this. But...the story is poor when you really look into it. The main problem I have with the story is that it almost exclusively relies on Isekai's, MacGuffins and Deus Ex Machinas (at least until the end of V0.4). Almost everything happens because the protagonist is spirited away, literally, into a new situation/world because of some plot device. Then some outside power arrives just in the nick of time – resolves the situation without explaining anything. This great outside power gives (or sometimes is) the new plot device – and the protagonist is spirited away again. For this continuous loop with no satisfactory resolution, I have to give it three stars. And the most frustrating thing? Every time the protagonist is Isekai'd into a new situation, the story hints at finally resolving some of those open questions. The story threatens to finally become good. Version 0.4 ends once again on this threat. I may just get suckered into playing V0.5 because of it.

If you're fan of Manhua (the chinese equivalent of Manga) and you've read one before you'll feel immediatly a sense of Deja vu while playing this visual novel and that's not surprising sice the developer is from China. The plot is something i've seen before: MC starts his cultivation journey from being a weakling and then becomes stronger and stronger as the story is progressing. The sexual content is limited if compared to the story meaning this is a plot focused Visual Novel: if you're here for a "quick fuck" then sorry, this game is not for you. In the end the content for v0.4 is a lot, the characters are interesting, the story captivating and i couldn't find mistakes or typos that are usually present in other games. I feel great potential on this one plus i'm also a Manhua reader so i'll give 5 stars.

Decent content, even if its only v0.4. Plot is still developing, and written adequately, just like a normal cultivation novel. Good thing is, there's actual plot progression and not just face slapping, so that's a +. Romance with my favorite LI Vannyr was great, so I have no doubt other LI will have nice romance arcs too. MC's powers are also adequate, not overpowered, but with good potential. Graphics are pretty good, compared to other games at least. Fight scenes are fun, and there seems to be an adequate amount of choices, though most of it boil down to choosing who to romance, and not about big plot-changing decisions. Adult scenes are great as well! Very tasty. I'm too lazy to write a more detailed review right now, so I'll leave it here. I just wanted to leave a 5 star review but I have to write something so... THIS SHIT IS PEAK BRO!

(written as of v0.4) At least play up to chapter 4 before deciding. Chapter 4 is where everything gets better. Overall, the story is worthwhile and unique. If you’re able to really suspend your disbelief, there's a lot to enjoy. The pacing and balance between action, introspection, and romance are just right, and I found myself fully absorbed in a whirlwind of emotions. For the first time, I felt like I had "crossed realms" into the story. Plot dynamics 7/10 The story starts off mostly directionless. The isekai premise and world-building are refreshing, but they don’t initially anchor the plot with motivation. There is no purpose to the MC; he just drifts along with wherever the plot device takes him. But this all changes in chapter 4. Only after a great loss does the MC finds his meaning to train harder in order to protect the ones he loves. This makes more sense than the MC entering his training arc from the get-go. Finally, the results are earned rather than spoon-fed. The MC becomes someone you could actually root for. Characters 8/10 Romance between MC and one specific character in chapter 4 is one-of-a-kind. After all, closeness breeds attachment. But it's not just closeness that matters here; it’s the shared routines and small moments of mutual care that naturally leads to love, rather than abrupt lust. Unlike the self-improvement arcs in many other stories, this one has romance and slice-of-life infused in it. Chapter 4 is not a slow-burn but it felt like one thanks to the time skips that let you fill in the gaps. However, this may not be everyone’s cup of tea, as you have to go through deep conversations before the sex scenes. Apart from that, the LIs don't get equal attention which could improve in the future. Flair 9/10 The "flair" consists of renders, music, sound effects, and everything in between that made the game feel alive. So many renders are wallpaper material. Set designs are out of this world (literally as well). The lighting is especially more dramatic and bolder in chapter 4, reflecting the change in the MC's purpose. The use of blur and bloom is well executed for later scenes so that it’s almost like seeing it through your own eyes instead of a pixel perfect camera capture. Also, light blood and gore are portrayed stylistically by using silhouettes which feels innovative. The BGM stands out from common stock music. However, there are some moments where the sound effects completely turn silent despite the action scene. All in all, this is a unique, sincere, and memorable AVN. Although the cultivation genre is a bit niche, I find myself liking it more than most other AVNs I've played. Oh, and when you do decide to play it, try to think of it as a world you're immersing yourself into instead of just an "Adult Visual Novel". Focusing on the story will let you enjoy it more, as there are not many lewd scenes as yet.

If there’s one thing that, in my opinion, separates a 5 star game from the rest of the pack, it’s when, after it’s updated, I feel compelled to replay it from the start for the story alone. Some games you revisit solely for the quality adult content, and others, like Cross Realm, it really is about the story. The adult content is fine, but the story is what keeps me coming back, and that’s quite a feat and deserving of a five star rating. That’s not to say the story isn’t without its flaws. There’s definitely an anime style to some of the writing, especially when discussing Qi (power) levels and the various things required to “level up”, but I love anime so I’m happy to let this slide. The simple fact is it makes me feel things. Drama, action, I’m yelping for joy, and I’m shrinking with dread… exactly what you want from a good story. I’m not sure what else to add really. The production values are all top notch, likely aided by the user-friendliness of Honey Select 2 models. A lot of effort is put into music, sound effects, and backgrounds for scenes that come and go in a split second. There are very few adult scenes so far but what exists are reasonably well done. Most importantly, the story is-well written and really sucks you in. You’ll be on the edge of your seat as the MC fights against several groups of high level opponents in order to buy time for his demon partner to recover and join the fray. If you only want sex scenes, you’ll want to wait until this has cooked for another year or two. If you want a strong story-heavy game that will leave you thirsting for me, you can do a lot worse than Cross Realms.
