v0.1
Initial release
So many promising animations, and then so much work for nothing. The game is so focused on animation grinding that it's no fun. You'd have to play every level multiple times for every single animation. I'll never fight that hard just to see such cheap animations.
Starting with the negative, as other reviewers have pointed out, there is excessive paywalling in this game. A huge number of CGs are inaccessible, most of the ones that are accessible do not have the animations of the Patreon version, and an entire character + weapon is paywalled (as well as apparently at least one level of an existing character). Considering the game uses AI art, which is effectively free for the developer to generate and use compared to genuine art, this paywall feels particularly unmerited. I suppose this is the unfortunate consequence of the intersection of AI making game development more widely accessible and everyone trying to monetise everything. Personally I would prefer to see a staggered release similar to what other developers use, where the public version is a version or two behind the patreon version but with no paywalled content. The game itself is a stripped down Vampire Survivors-like. You progress through the same three stages to gain XP for a chosen companion, for whom you then unlock CGs as they level up and you achieve things in game. Within a run you gain XP from killing monsters, then choose a passive stat upgrade each time you level up. The game becomes repetitive incredibly quickly because of the shockingly low amount of content for a 0.7 release. There are 4 weapons (+ 1 paywalled) of which you will ultimately have 3 within a single run. Usually it's the same three, in the same order, since the bow is obviously the best starting weapon and the sword / green thing are effectively equivalent and better than the fire staff. There are no synergies of any form. The only other elements are the passive, where the unlocks still seem bugged even on 0.7B - but since you can only select one passive at the start of a run you are probably just going to use the same one each time, and the companion. The companion gives you another passive, and as they level up through play they give you access to more CGs. I would have liked to see e.g. their passive abilities improve as they level up to give you some meta progression, but since the actual game is limited to these three repeated stages there really isn't much need for it. Once you unlock the weapons the game becomes trivially easy. That's a fault in the game design. What this means is that the runs end up identical after you unlock all the weapons, and it turns into a pure grind to unlock CGs. At this point it quickly gets very boring. Also, your companion will keep trying to talk to you, pausing the game until you click through the same text every time. Incredibly annoying - you can turn this dialogue off in settings, but if your players are actively turning off content, it means there's a problem. I gave it 2* because the (few) animated CGs you get are alright, and the base VS-like gameplay is a good idea for an H game which, with a lot of work, could become more intriguing, but there are better, similar games out there with stronger mechanics, more interesting gameplay, and no paywalls.
The gameplay feels clunky and frustrating. Movement is erratic, enemies phase through walls like ghosts at a seance and combat often devolves into a chaotic mess where your attacks are as effective as trying to swat flies with a feather duster. This makes conquering increasingly challenging waves more of a test of patience than skill. The companions you build relationships with are paper-thin archetypes with predictable personalities and motivations. Building a meaningful connection feels less like a romantic journey and more like ticking boxes on a checklist. The game feels rushed. It's clear developers prioritized quantity over quality, leaving you with a barrage of generic images.
I really enjoyed the gameplay, and it works as a game even if you take away the H content. Of course, the unlockable scenes and characters makes the grind much more interesting! Many of the unlockable gallery photos are too similar to each other, and it would be better to have less gallery items but have each scene as animated instead
Overall just trash really. Its a top down Vampire survivor clone with poor movement you get stuck on stairs and edges, enemies phase through walls your attacks cannot pass through, most of the content appears to be pay walled behind a patreon subscription I only was able to see some still AI generated nudes
The conception is good. Fight hordes of enemies and farm juicy scenes. Not the first game like this. The AI CG animations are good but they are generated with AI so the quality is just like those. If you like it you'll like it. The gameplay is enjoyeable for some time but it would be better if you get some better hints for the scenes to unlock. If you know how to play then the game becomes very easy. At the end after the last boss my PC started to lagging because of the enemy numbers. They coundn't kill me and just spawned infinitely. I don't know if you can reach the end other than die or exit to the menu. The main problem for me is the paywall if you want to see all the content. And I think it's a bit overpriced for those plus scenes and extras. But if you want to see them then support the development. Overall I think it's a good game. Could be better but good enough.
