You play as a Tourist on a relaxing Vacation. You arrived at this remote fishing village for a quiet escape. Your goals were simple: the warmth of the sun, the bite of the salt air, and the patient rhythm of a fishing line in the water. But the sea here is different. The waves have a hypnotic pulse, a rhythm that feels less like nature and more like a command. You find yourself staring into the depths for hours, your mind drifting until you see her... Beautiful, ethereal, and exactly like the legends: The Mermaid. One glimpse was enough to leave you enchanted. Now, a strange compulsion drives you to find her again. But as you speak to the village folk, the "truth" begins to fracture. Some treat her as a divine protector; others speak of her with a fear that borders on hatred. A mystery to unfold. Between the conflicting whispers of the locals and the strange patterns in the deep, you must decide: is the water calling you to a miracle, or is it dragging you toward the dark?

Review v0.1 I wish this first version was longer because I don't feel like I have a solid grasp of the game yet, but I did enjoy this so far. Overview pretty much perfectly describes how the current version plays out. Getting some major Lovecraftian vibes in a Shadow over Innsmouth type of way. At first the buildup is nice. You arrive in town, meet some charismatic locals, get to meet a few of what I'm assuming are love interests, learn about the town, do some fishing, typical touristy stuff. MC feels like a normal dude in a way that works for the most part. You get some choices in how talk to some characters, such as being flirty, but I truly have no idea how much that impacts things. You start to get teased at the idea of local legends around town, strange rumors, mysterious mermaids, etc. Hooplah to most, but of course there's something deeper at play. The game starts to pick up speed once you get to the bar though, and I'm not sure how I feel about it yet. It really throws you into the deep end *wink wink* and all of a sudden a mysterious figure is doing magic, giving you some cryptic warnings and advice, and then you run into a mermaid who wants to pull you into the dark side. The game then ends on a cliffhanger of sorts that goes three possible ways. In my head I thought this was really going to keep moving slow and tease out these supernatural elements more, so it's hard to say if I like the way it subverted that expectation yet given it ends shortly after. Outside of that I think the renders look nice and the game has a good consistent vibe going, especially with the help of the music. I'm liking the character designs too, especially the girl who works at the bar. Technically two sex scenes you can get, animations were nice enough. Need to see more really, but it's an interesting start.
