I Wani Hug that Gator!
is a choice-driven narrative about teenagers struggling to find their way.
Here's the picture: You're Inco, a new human transfer student to St. Hammond High, where the curriculum is focused on the Arts. There you'll meet a number of colorful new friends such as the captivating baryonyx Olivia, along with other dinosaurs that are more vibrant than the canvases they paint on. As the only human in this Jurassic school, you'll have to consider your choices in order to thrive.

Wait, what do you mean we’re moving?!
Just great; just when Inco was getting ready to move on into his Senior year, his parents decide to uproot his life and move half-way across the country!
Guess it’s time to start all over. Sure, Inco didn’t have many friends (or any) back at his old school, and sure, he was so low on the social ladder that he had to get a deep-sea diving lesson…. Wait, why was he complaining about moving again?
I Wani Hug that Gator is a multi-ended, choices-matter visual novel about second chances and the power of accepting who you are. Shape how Inco makes the most of his final year, and how the relationships he makes along the way will develop. One relationship in particular has him feeling all fuzzy inside…
The Prehistoric Romance a Million-and-One Years in the making!
If there’s one good thing to come out of Inco’s sudden relocation, it’s Olivia. Bold and brash, Olivia seems particularly gifted in getting under Inco’s skin. No matter how Inco slices it, he and Olivia seem destined to go together like a particularly scaly sandwich. But the outcome of such a pairing is yet to be determined…
Wait, am I being graded on this?!
Make friends, reconcile enemies, and figure out how Inco could possibly repair his miserable excuse for a social life. But be warned: The choices you make expands the relationships with Inco’s classmates and determines which of the four unique endings you receive. Maybe Inco should’ve spent a little less time studying and a bit more time learning how to relate to people…

Alright, so, whenever I search under the monster girl tag, I sometimes see this game pop up somewhere. Honestly, when I had first downloaded it, I thought I would just end up getting a poorly written story (like most VNs), give it one star review, and move on with my life all in the matter of 15 minutes. Man, was I fucking wrong. This is a extremely well written story that has no business being as good as it is. The emotional scenes made me actually feel something . I get a feel for what each character wants and why they do what they do. The animations (the few that there are) are really well done. Hell, the soundtrack for this game is actual music, not some copy pasted song ripped from a DRM free website. And, a lot of the scenes in the game really spoke to me as a person. Now, there are a few minor issues that I had with the game. Mostly revolving around the minor characters as they felt a bit flat for me, but that's really nitpicky. So yes, I would say that this is deserving of 5 stars. I Wani Hug That Gator Too

One of the best furry VNs I have played. It is rare to see a wholesome, more straight furry VN, not that I mind the other stuff but this is rare and I really loved this. I wani hug that gator, but I think it is quite... disturbing that there is handholding in this.
LurkerTrash2025-12-14★★★★★
You don't fuck the gator, the gator fucks you, emotionally . As my username suggests, I don't really post but this game moved me enough to share my thoughts. Things I liked: Well-written characters with fleshed out emotions and goals. Story that doesn't treat you like a lobotomite meaning you actually have to have a shred of emotional intelligence to make choices (very low bar, but I've seen many VN's fail in this department). While going back to get other endings/dialogue, bad choices made me feel bad and not in some cheap "they all continued to live horrible lives and died horrible deaths womp womp ". Pacing was great, the hours blew by and the slower parts never felt dragged out. Character and background art was clean and thought out, nothing fancy or mindbreaking but had visual clarity with distinct silhouettes so even someone barely paying attention could remember different characters. Things that could have been improved: The cut scenes were refreshing and really good for a VN, but I felt like they were missing the final oomph needed to make them great. Art and animation was a bit rougher, especially compared to the regular sprites. Sound was present for only some people/objects making the missing sounds more blatant, like a conversation where you can only hear one side (just a metaphor, not an in-game example). In a handful of scenes, they did nerf character's frontal lobes to make them denser, not black hole forming dense but still too dense for no reason other than a quick joke or furthering the plot. The jokes were fine but at times I thought "really, we're going to trust Bitchface McGee to not be a bitch". While the memey aspects (MC's being named phonetic "incognito" and being an almost entirely faceless anonymous dude) and pop/nerd-culture references are handled well and aren't intrusive, it did detract from the serious tones a when you got engorssed into the story. TL;DR: Great game if you're not here to be horny, but instead to get emotionally invested in believable characters and intriguing story. If you like/tolerate VN's definately go hug the gator . If you hate VN's but you like story driven games or if you get emotionally invested in characters, go hug the gator . If they added gator sex, this would be 6/5 stars .

Snootgame walked so Wani could run. It’s rare to find indie VNs that can handle topics like disability and depression so well. This is basically Snootgame 2.0 with less focus on the 4chan culture and with way more polish. Not much in the way of lewd scenes, but a lot of cuddling and wholesomeness overall. The furry/scalie stuff is basically just a stand-in or abstraction of humans. It’s there to make the MC more of an outsider. I recommend it for anyone that just finished another VN and seeks to fill that gap left behind. It’s hard to convince people to try things they usually don’t like, but if just one person can get sucked into this story and connect with these characters the way I did, it will validate me making this review. I’ll probably keep this little game close to my heart in the future. I found it just when some difficult things were going on in my life.

Automatic 5 stars. There's no smut but things hit so close to home and the way they've laid the game out is incredible and they've managed to pack a TON of things into what's ultimately a fairly compact game. Highly recommend playing it through blind first time, absolute curveball, and I love and appreciate they did what the did. Immediately went on Steam and bought the game afterwards to show support.

Good story, shows how absurd and stupid emotions and outrages look and how all of the little things bottle up until they fill the cup. You need to read the atmosphere on some of the choices for the internal game´s point system that determines in the end what will be your ending, which is a tad complicated but I find it good, after all, you are reading the story right?

Played thinking I would bust a nut, burst into tears instead. 10/10 game, wouldn't change a thing about it. The story, visuals and characters, especially the titular gator, are amazingly well crafted and engaging. Definitely recommend trying it out for yourself, and consider supporting the creators. I wish us all a gator wife. EDIT: THE GAME IS ON SALE ON STEAM TILL 27.10, please consider supporting the creators by buying it.

I don't know what I can say that hasn't already been said in the other reviews here. Fucking phenomenal piece of work, even if the art/animations can be a bit rough at times. Possibly the best VN I've ever played, although Changeling Tale is a strong contender.
LS472024-10-11★★★★★
This is an incredible VN, easily one of the best on this website. The story of the budding of the romance with a crippled, depressed girl, and its development through a long series of trials testing the protagonists' relationship and their strength of character, with the MC Inco slowly trying to gain her trust and her friendship, and Olivia learning to abandon the hard shell she's been developing throughout years of neglect and bullying. The character interactions are impeccable. When you read their dialogues, the characters feel like actual people, and you can really relate to their struggles and feel how important the events affecting them are. You'll grunt in annoyance when you see Olivia's more cynical side bubble up to the surface from time to time; you'll be really sad when she breaks down and cries from all the trauma and self-loathing she suffered for years; and you'll be similing and very happy for her when something good finally comes to her. Her relationship with Inco is neither forced nor rushed; the writers took their time to establish them as characters first, then as friends, then as lovers, and it feels really satisfying to see Olivia breaking her shell open and showing the side of her and will make the reader fall for her too. The only part about the characters that I don't like is in relation to Inco and Mia, the main antagonist. Mia is a fine character, she doesn't really need a motivation as to why she's the main bully to Olivia, but she does kinda only serve as the service bully throughout the entire session, and that does feel kind of a little bit caricatural and odd given her importance to the good ending, and how much more detailed the rest of the cast is. As for Inco, the feeling I got was the writers wanted to do a blend between your typical faceless nobody protagonist and an actual character with layers and depth. This is difficult to pull off well, and I don't think they pulled it off perfectly well here. Although he really starts off as an empty canvas, it's nice to be able to influence his personality and make him become a totally different person in each ending, but his naive nature and his blandness at the start of the game was a bit grating to me. It doesn't help that he's got no face or hair, wears sunglasses at all times and is named Inco G. Nito... Like, the only way to make this more blatant would have been to give him just a colored outline like the nobody background characters, and it wouldn't have changed much. Also, he seems to have some sort of backstory with his neglectful and overworked parents, but this never goes anywhere. It is mentioned at times in the first half of the story, but is never relevant to the plot nor impactful on what ending you get. It's a missed opportunity in my opinion. Speaking of endings, I think it's kind of a shame to have us get all 4 endings to get the epilogue. First, it's never clear at any moment what choices in which branch will give you the points you need to reach either ending; I had to go through a guide on Steam to figure that one out, which is a big negative in my eyes. Secondly, I feel personally that the bad endings kinda "tarnish" the wholesomeness and the value of the good ending, if that makes sense. The first 2 endings are really emotionally rough, really showing the nasty side of what Olivia and Inco can truly become; and while they're important to get a full picture of the characters, I don't think they're essential for a satisfying conclusion, and they kinda deflate the value of the fourth ending when they keep nagging at your mind how wrong the events could have went instead. I don't know, maybe it's just me, but if you want to reach the epilogue, start with the 3rd (neither good nor bad, a bit sad but still statisfying in its own way), get the 1st, then the 2nd, and get the 4th (good) ending last. It will make the thing more palatable. There's not much to talk about besides that. I really appreciate the presentation, how colorful and alive the scenes look, and I really like how they went the extra mile to add proper cutscenes, although the animations are more on the rough side honestly, and are more distracting than effective at their job. The artists could have spared a few more panels for important moments, like the protags' first kiss and what not, but most of them are piled at the beginning of the story, which is wierd because it's the least interesting part of the VN. But overall, it's a fantastic experience. I wonder if this was partially inspired by stuff like Katawa Shoujo, because if you like that one, you'll probably like this one even more. The story kinda drags on at times, but it never feels like a waste of time. It's an incredible story from start to finish. It has a theme, it knows its subject matter very well, there's no wheel-spinning, the character conflicts are tastefully handled, the payoff to the main couple's months of struggles is very rewarding to read... It's just an excellent story.

Higher than average production value game, a game where the romance actually develops very sweetly, I like my romances cuddly and clingy, and I guess the game has pulled it off to a pretty decent extent, the banter an meme game is top tier, would have liked to see more cute moments from the MC and gator girl, I think the plot focuses too heavily on the challenges they have to face, depression etc, the wheelchair hand dance was so cute in ED 4. I actually like ending 3 more than 4 in a way, I hate being in an ideal world where romance develops perfectly, they also made her skinnier and hotter (IMO) in the Ending 4 epilogue, would have liked another balance on tail scene in the epilogue, now that she's skinnier.

I bought this game after playing Snoot Game earlier this year and wow, am I blown away with this dev team's ability to write really good character narratives. Wonderful storytelling and writing. Lots of choices and consequences, with 4 endings that hit you in the gut emotionally. Choices matter here, and you will know just how badly you screwed up with some. Olivia is a wonderfully written character. You really should hug that gator. In fact, I think pretty much this entire cast is fairly well defined. The art, visuals, and music are all top notch too. Highlights are definitely whenever animated scenes show up. High recommendation to play and buy to support the dev team.

Absolute masterpiece of a game, an emotional rollercoaster that will make you laugh, cry of sadness, wail in despair and tear up from happiness across 4 possible endings. The character sprites are so well drawn and have lots of different expressions. The music is fantastic and the few completely animated cutscenes across the game are beautiful. The two main characters, Inco and Olivia, are multi-layered individuals that change accordingly to your choices and become drastically different versions of themselves, either for the best or worse. The only thing this game is missing are bonus chapters, give them to us Cavemanon, and my life is yours!

emotional sad and also very heartwarming at the same time the music is good the story is pretty good the animations are sometimes goofy but theyre fine the backgrounds are sometimes real life images but blurred but they dont bother me too much also some characters dont really add much to the story or have a purpose which kinda bothers me a little because snoot game did it better but yeah aside from that i would definitely pay 15$ for this game.

IWANI is one of the best visual novels I have ever played along with Snoot Game and I am someone who gets bored of visual novels very easily if it dose not have any sort of gameplay element to it. Even though it is devoid of any sexual content I would still highly recommend it if your looking for a good story.
