Light of My Life

Excellent story structure. Never a dull moment. You know you've got something special when you can hook me in and the "skip" button is completely forgotten. The goonette in me is constantly hot and buzzing from one scene to the next. It's shit like that makes wild girls like me scream "daddy" as fucking kink when I'm with my partner. I will be doing a thorough review after my 2nd playthrough, but for now, I give Light of my Life 5-Dripping-Wet-Daughter-Deltas and an A+ Dilfy-Dong.

Just found the Velan Reach and now this game recently, and am blown away by the writing quality. The unique character designs are also so refreshing, and I think I've enjoyed playing through LoML more than any other VN I've tried. Really enjoy the approach to story-telling, humor, and 4th wall breaks to explain mechanics, etc. Just very impressed overall.

One of the more overrated novels on this site. I don't mind the occasional slow burn novel, but this one barely moves at all. First 5-10 hours of this novel runs in circles introducing nothing new or exciting, scenes feel like they are being reused over and over again, every time moving the plot a quarter of an inch more. MC has absolutely no character, it's just generic faceless self insert MC, and the whole novel is riddled with illusion of choice. You can pick "say nothing" or "disagree" and most of the time the conversation will go on as if you said "yes" regardless. What is the point of trying to sell the illusion, it just becomes insulting once you realize it's fake. The whole included walkthrough could be written into a single page, but it's just as overwritten as the novel. I'm not gonna rag on the character models too much, you can kind of ignore them while playing since the lightning and set(?) design are very good. Of course there are some absolute goblins on display, but they're not a big part of the novel. Overall, can't recommend, it's the first novel I've read on this site that actually almost put me to sleep mid-day

I dled this one because of the rating. This game has a better organic build up with better dialogue and plot than most AVNs about the same topics. I was originally excited in the beginning but it slowly turned sour. It has a slow build up, like really really slow. Which then becomes its downside and the charms wear off and all the other stuff becomes super annoying. I'm half way through the first season, the dialogue and plot just becomes tedious with very little lewd scenes. There's not enough for me to stay engaged with the plot. You have to keep selecting single or 1 of 2 choices where 99% of them dont matter. At some point I'm like, wtf is the point. The point system is shallow, might as well make it a kenetic AVN. A part of me doesnt want to but I find myself skipping whole scenes of dialogue and dream sequences now because they are so boring. Some of the very little lewd scenes can be good but some other ones just aren't exciting or I'm burned out from the constant banter and lack of plot I can't even get hard for the ugly women scenes. Then youngest ward continues to be annoying and is suppose to be 18 but acts more naive than a 13 year old. The scenes and assets get tiresome as the plot barely moves but have to go through these scenes over and over and over and over. I went from 'this is great' as I played through the first couple of chapters to it feeling like a chore to press on and pay attention to the dialogue. EDIT: I've pressed on even more closer to chapter 6. I dont think I can finish, Almost the whole game there are whole scenes of mostly empty banter How many times does the MC have to repeat himself about how you'll be there for your wards and support them. Even during the lewd scenes there is SO MUCH DIALOGUE, no one talks that much while trying to give or receive oral. I can skip whole scenes and feel no less engaged with the story because so little substance takes place. The MC isn't even the MC, it seems the youngest ward seems more MC.

Light of My Life is a very long visual novel that has been carefully developed by Naughty Road for many years. The story is well known for its writing and unique choice of graphics, deserving both praise and criticism. It is a very emotional narrative centered on a father trying his best to fix his broken family after a tragedy. His two daughters are a mess, and he decides to shoulder the world’s burdens to help them escape their dreadful states of anger and anxiety. While the girls themselves try and fail multiple times to heal from their traumas, the relationship between the three slowly improves. The game is divided into many chapters, and each one contains an enormous amount of renders and thousands of dialogue lines telling a very long story. There are many repetitive scenes that do not seem to be used for progression, but instead to point out the daily life of this fragmented family. Sure, it is sweet, but after four or five times it loses its emotional weight and starts to become obnoxious. A slimmer approach to the mundane would be better for the story’s pacing. The models in Light of My Life are unique and a constant topic of discussion. In short, the models have strange faces. Something about the proportions of their noses, teeth, and nasolabial folds does not fit well with the design. If you cover those parts, their facial harmony improves significantly. Body-wise, they are all great and offer good variability. Even with clear care from the developer, this story is not amazing. The hindrances of pointless, repetitive dialogue spread throughout hours upon hours erode the player’s attention. Half of the choices feel meaningless, with only a couple of different lines being affected. And of course, there are the aforementioned problems with the models. Generously, it can be seen as above average, but it is far from a great experience.

I was highly, immensely sceptical but this game is an art, a milestone of a work. I did play it with no-incest settings as I am personally not into incest or NTR and I thought this game will disappoint me but to my surprise none of the games, which are far from taboo themes that I mentioned have even came close to this. Even other top rated games, except for Leap of Faith, holds nothing in front of this beauty. Absolutely exceptional VN.

I regret waiting so long to play this one, initially put off by the style. After finally giving it a shot, I was pulled in by the deep characters with personality, and the hot scenarios the story presents. Easily one of the GOATs. Check this game out at once.

This game is quite mediocre its all tease with nearly no lewds some of the characters are very ugly we talking how did that got included in the porn game ugly there is also a lot of lesbian scenes that protagonist should not be able to witness at all game also like to throw a branching warnings at the player whenever you trying to play/replay the game forcing you to dance around them before you can even start playing game is quite long, but seems aimless and unfinished

This game made feel certain way I just cannot explain, from story, characters, all the intimate scenes, everything just felt right. I also like that the dev used unique looking characters and not something we've seen million times. The only nitpick I have, that MC doesn't really matter much to the story. There is this illusion of a choice but honestly I did not mind in this case.

Fantastic story. I know some may criticize the main character models at first glance but they grow on you. It makes for a more realistic family setting and even has moments where ya put the dick down and think.

This is a classic. One of the best games on here. So well written and nicely illustrated it's a delight to play through. Loads of admiration for the creator. Hats off to you and I hope good luck is with you always

Very poor, barely any branching, near to no personal input (90% of the game is choosing between saying something or nothing at all neither changing the outcome), younger "ward" is the most annoying character I've seen (she's like a mix between a mother and a 5 year old kid but only picking their worst attributes), side character dialogue often feels dragged out and very skippable, appreciate the more unique look of the characters (personal preference but the younger "ward" is really unattractive imo), End of season 1 and especially the start of season 2 feel very dragged out with very little interesting happening, only enjoyment I got out of this game was making the younger "ward" as anxious as possible and picking the most "bad" decisions as possible (these got less frequent and almost non existent towards the end). 2 stars because that did give me some entertainment to keep on going, but it's not a game I would recommend. I would have enjoyed it a lot more if it was on option to choose only the older "ward".

Nice game with two major flaws: 1) Millions of irrelevant choices. Every two seconds, you're asked to select an unimportant dialogue option. This gets extremely annoying. It would be cool if some modder could turn this into a kinetic novel. No choice would be better than millions of choices. 2) One of the two primary LIs (daughters) is supremely trashy, with more facial piercing and tats than I care to count. This is in addition to tasteless makeup and a sometimes moody/bitchy personality. A third issue is, this game can be very repetitive. That's actually part of its charm, but it can be tedious after a while. So what works? Very high marks for originality: original art style, original characters, good writing, unusual ethnicity. Despite tedious issues above, the game carries an overall fresh quality.

Maybe the best game on this site. The characters are well developed and actually interact with each other in meaningful ways. The art style is unique and breaks fully away from reusing the same 10-20 premade character assets that infest so many VNs with a diverse cast. The sex scenes take their time and explore kinks at what feels like a more realistic pace. Also, really weird note, but I never expected to feel a bit... uplifted by the plot of an adult VN.

If people would rate the game as it is instead of what the game could be, "potentially", the rating system would be more reliable. The writing is not bad and the pace is good, but man, the character dialogue is just boring. Ever been on a date and the "small talk" drags on without any substance? Yeah. So much could be removed without losing any of the plot or what little there is to emotionally draw the player in. The characters are butt-ugly, almost intentionally. Yeah, I tried this one due to the high ratings and was sorely disappointed.

Brilliant. A bit too much on the text chunk really, I prefer less text. But well, in this case it's definitely worth your time. No surprise it has some of incest, but not only that, also the adventures at work are incredible. The characters are spicy and tasty. Fully recommendable

I'm writing this review after completing the available content twice in four days. It's been a while since I've enjoyed a game this much, and even less so in this genre. I truly thank you from the bottom of my heart. Thank you for this story, which has often moved me in more than one way. Thank you for your characters, both for their design and their personalities and how they develop, for the humor in some moments, for the overall experience, and for your wonderful work. I've enjoyed every moment, and the love with which it was developed is evident. As soon as I can contribute my bit to support it, I will gladly do so. look, its an awesome game, i like the long conversation through the intimate scenes, we want that, long intimate scenes, with lewd conversation, not like just a loop animation, even if it is , it doesnt feel like it, GREAT GAME, GREAT STORY, GOOD ANIMATION, BUT - i know, youre doing an awesome job, but we critics always come up with something, look man, respectfully, i dont know whats your problem TO MAKE THE ELDER step-DAUGHTER SO CLAPPED, and also some new girls from office, THEY ARE CLAPPED, RAGGEDY ASS CRACK BITCHES, that it, they look like they are CRACK WHORES, i like they GOTH , i can handle it, but she can be hot, and cute under goth, the little step-daughter is so cute, perfect, I HAVE JUST 1 REQUEST, OR DEMAND (RESPECTFULLY) - CHANGE THE ELDER ONE'S AVATAR, fuck other office girls, please just update the elder girl's avatar with something "NOT CLAPPED", i dont know much work that is, , I JUST CANT FATHOM IT, if you dont help me, i might learn Renpy and do it myself, PLEASE PLEASE, I BEG OF YOU

Surpassingly good game. I have to be honest, I did not like the aesthetic of the game at the start, but the game won me over. The story and dialogs are very well written. The game gets you to really care about the characters in it. It is definitely unique. I recommend it if you're interested on doing some reading. Easily on the top 20% of the game. High 5/5.
