Monster Ops is a Ren'Py visual novel adventure and dating sim from Y Press Games, presented with 2D CG art. You play Lieutenant Tide, a plucky soldier drafted into a black-ops taskforce created to recapture monsters that escaped a secret experiment. Alongside veteran Wraith and human-loving monster Balasque, Tide tries to prove himself after past mistakes. The story blends combat, gay romance, and monster-themed conflict as dangerous missions and an unpredictable commander bring Tide and Wraith closer, opening romantic possibilities neither expected.
Current build is Episode 5, released November 5, 2024. Development is ongoing, with new one- to two-hour stand-alone episodes planned monthly in 2025; season premieres are free and later episodes paid. It runs on Windows, Linux, and Mac in English and is uncensored. The latest changelog entry on November 7, 2024 added Episode 5, following Episode 4 on October 25, Episode 3 on September 25, an Episode 1 update on September 2, Episode 2 on August 24, and the initial Episode 1 release on July 25.

Plucky Lieutenant Tide has been drafted into the Monster Ops: A military taskforce that hunts monsters who've escaped from a top-secret experiment. He joins the no-nonsense veteran soldier Wraith and the peaceful human-loving monster Balasque. Tide's past screw-ups make him a questionable choice for the high-stakes black ops, but he's determined to prove himself to Wraith. He can't help but look up to their badass leader. Wraith seems rough around the edges, but he warms up to Tide quickly. When the nature of their missions turn sexual, romantic possibilities open up for the two that neither had considered. With increasingly dangerous missions and an unpredictable commander, Wraith and Tide know they must count on each other to survive. Will their bond as battle-brothers evolve into something more? Spoiler An on-going visual novel series with new 1 to 2 hour stand-alone game episodes coming out monthly in 2025! Our season premieres will be free, and subsequent episodes paid.
