About Murmur

Murmur is a text-based dating sim made by scoldpadda with an Others engine. It uses AI-generated character art that changes as the story unfolds. The premise is a local chatbot for talking with AI characters, and it can run locally or over a network. You play as the protagonist interacting with girls. At present there are two characters: one who lives with you and another you meet on a cruise ship. The first girl offers four starting personalities: good girl, tsundere, kuudere, and broken, plus a fully customizable persona. The game keeps context longer than online chats and uses an auto compact feature to maintain story consistency.

The current build is v0.3.0, released May 14, 2026, and development is ongoing. It supports Windows and Linux, with English, Spanish, and Russian language options, and is uncensored. This version adds Lyra and Rita as two new girls. It also reworks the relation system so bots react more accurately according to their bond with the user. A seed system introduces minor variability into bots that changes when /clear is used. Finally, Rita has a small game system that can appear inside the chat.
