Obscura is a 2D CG visual novel made with Ren'Py by Rotten Raccoons. It is set in a hidden marketplace beneath a mountain, where masked strangers trade, scheme, and pursue private goals. You play as one of the desperate people drawn there, guided by other visitors who may have their own ambitions. The story explores corruption and a dystopian fantasy setting, and it offers multiple endings.
Development is ongoing. The current release is v2.5.1 BugFix, dated February 24, 2026, for Windows, Mac, and Linux in English, with censorship. This update fixed an improperly coded bad ending so it can now be reached, slightly re-ordered the endings page, corrected a gallery CG that failed to unlock, resolved some incorrect dialogue in the smoke lounge, and fixed assorted typos and grammar.

Strangers with their own secrets and ambitions can show you ways through the market. They'll guide you to your goal, but don't trust them to have your best interests at heart.
