About Rance 02
Rance 02 is an adult remake by AliceSoft, listed under the Others engine and using 2D CG artwork. It retells Rance II with a new script, fresh visuals, and adjusted gameplay. The story begins in Custom, where four girls trained by the mage Ragisis were meant to become the town’s protectors. Years later, they kill Ragisis, and a magical conflict buries the town underground under a barrier that traps everyone inside. As the Four Witches of Custom, they terrorize the settlement. You play Rance, accompanied by Sill, as they accept a guild mission to confront the witches and rescue the town, with fantasy, humor, and harem among its themes.
The final release came out on October 29, 2020, so development is complete. It runs on Windows and is available in English without censorship. Because it is a remake, the build presents the updated story and mechanics rather than the original game’s presentation. The finished version is the current build.
Developer's description
Ten years ago in the town of Custom, four young girls were appointed as disciples to an old mage named Ragisis. They were to be raised as mages and work as the town's guardians after their training was completed. However, after the ten years, the girls suddenly rebelled against Ragisis and killed him. During the intense magic battle, the entire town was buried underground and a barrier spell was placed on it, preventing anyone from leaving, including the mages who terrorized the town. The four mages were soon known as Four Witches of Custom. Having accepted a quest at the guild to help Custom, Rance sets out with Sill to defeat the four mages and save the town from their grasp. Now that Rance is on the job, Custom is saved! ...Or is it? This is a remake of the original Rance II with a completely rewritten script, new art and some gameplay changes.
