I hate it when avn devs think they are creating a soap opera masterpiece. While the old adage "came for porn, stayed for plot" remains true for me, this sadly is not it. The biggest issue here are the characters and the mc takes the first place with flying colors. Not only is he a lazy asshole he is also a liar, lying to his gf about going out to meet his buddy when in reality he is going to meet his high school sweet heart. I don't mind asshole mc but give us the option to choose or atleast not make him so hateable And don't even get me started on the horrendously slow pacing

Well, I finally got to try this game, and it's sad to see how the developer of Haley Story ended up making such a bad one. The story is so simple and slow, the love interests have zero charisma and look ugly, and the renders... I don't understand how every game he releases gets worse.
Shoryuken 2025-10-25
I still can't believe this is from the same dev who made Haley's Story. This story is SLOW, even for a slow burn VN, MC has nothing special about, LIs have good models but they are boring AF. It's been like a year and half that this game started being released, there's basically no sex scenes, and that would be ok, if the story was good, but it's not, there's nothing interesting going on and i doubt that there will be any in the future.

Three two stars to this point. Really not a fan of this MC... That woman deserves her revenge, and he deserves to die . My thoughts are spoiler-tagged below to keep the post short in the reviews. Expand if you're interested. Spoiler: My thoughts on the story from about an hour in... The MC is a WFH remote tech support agent. Lives like a college freshman, complete slob. Doesn't have a fashionable bone in his body--he wears this awful blazer to a funeral that honestly looks more like a smoking jacket, it's ridiculous. Kind of an asshole, but seems entirely unaware of it, like he's just built... different . He's entirely unlikeable--and, somehow, he seems like he's getting worse as the story continues. While I really don't like him, the characters in the story seem to tolerate him, and I do not understand it. Remains to be seen how long that lasts... Spoiler: Update, thoughts on MC Now he has to be actively aware he's an asshole. Just got to a point where he outright lies to his girlfriend; said he had been out to meet an old friend. She asked if it was someone she knew, replies that it's no one she's met before, hasn't seen him in a long time. I get it, guys can't have friends who are girls unless 1) they are homosexual and the significant other (SO) is acutely aware of it (jealousy is unbecoming, but it's also a bitch) or 2) she's part of the friend group with both MC and the SO, though that gets dicey because you aren't allowed ex parte interactions as the SO might think you're going around her back doing the affair... unless you can convince her there was a surprise to her benefit--some kind of surprise party, gift, etc. The alternative to outright lying is ambiguity. Call her a buddy from high school. Girls can be buddies, but girls don't suspect buddies; girls wrongfully assume buddies are guys. It might be sneaky, but it isn't dishonest. Just know you're playing with fire when you use that tact. Edit: Played a few more minutes still... oh my, I'm dying to know how the developer justifies the MC's survival beyond the initial meeting... by all rights, no one could survive this. He actively encourages Diana's belief that the friend is another man right up until the minute Christina rings the doorbell... then proceeds to turn the gaslighting up to 11. It's nuclear fusion of a star levels of gaslighting that she misheard, don't be silly. This man is completely off the reservation, it's total Darwin-brain, in full kamikaze mode. This developer is out of his damned mind. I want this MC dead more than Diana does right now. His friend-cum-work supervisor, George, is a decent sort. You meet him in the opening scene to drag the MC out of bed and to the aforementioned funeral. Alright sort of dude... kind of homely, visually reminds me of Patrick Fitzgibbons from The Departed (played by David O'Hara). Christina is a girl from the MC's past. They went to school together, were in classes together. It's been a few years, MC doesn't immediately put it together until he suddenly relives a moment (for our benefit, to place her). She seems sweet, caring, a little aloof. She's a private swimming teacher for rich kids. She's cute, but she has a few odd facial expressions that I pretty much blame the developer for; for instance, whenever she's happy, she has this Cheshire grin as though something wicked this way comes. Also there's one scene where, while on a phone call she winks... like, who are you winking at? There's no one with you, you're in your apartment. Again, developer being dumb. Diana is the MC's girlfriend. Respectable girl who wants better for herself and the MC. Unfortunately for the MC, that clashes with his lazy, carefree, asshole attitude. Understandably upset when she gets home from a work trip to find the apartment is a mess. Clearly having a rethink about "whatever this is", she decides to stay in a hotel in the interim. Again, she wants better for herself and the MC, but she can only do so much to make him better, it won't take unless he wants it, and it looks like she might be seeing that writing on the wall. That's where I'm at thus far... I'll add more above as I see it comes down... Now, my thoughts on the range of where this story could still go... this is less review and more speculation. It means nothing, don't read into the following if you're just trying to determine what this game is currently . Also, it's kind of long. I drone on a bit, but I'm okay with it... Spoiler: Future Possibility, writeup in progress That said, if you're the developer and you're looking for ideas, well... I won't be offended. On the contrary, that's sort of the point... As the above story winds and progresses, possibilities are cut off... that's the way life is, it's a series of choices that opens more and more towards the beginning, but narrows as you reach the end of the story. At some point, your last choice will be your last choice. Of course what I'm talking about aren't necessarily player choices... no, there's very little of that here, though when they appear they seem to be kind of definitive. For instance, the first player choice in the game is to hug Christina or shake her hand... seems insignificant, but it sets the tone in your relationship... and unless the developer is hard-up to make it happen at some point, that should legitimately cut off a potential path in the MC's life with either choice: either you pursue and that's the goal, or you don't... and now self-improvement is the goal. You aren't making the insignificant choices here, that's for sure. The only thing that feels obvious is that, more than likely, the MC is going to eventually leave Diana at some point. No hatred or anger, they just don't seem like two people who really fit together. Their lives are heading in very different directions when we come across them and while the MC's direction might change as the story continues--he'd be a shitty protagonist if he doesn't change in some way--the SO likely will not change. It's not her place to change and suddenly become the person that fits what an unchanging MC is--that would be very Ferris Bueller to have the universe bend to his will... it would be a sad tale of hedonism (but without the hedonistic pursuits, this game doesn't seem to have very much sex for an adult game). No, I'm afraid it's the MC's place to adapt to the circumstances of his life. Of course, our MC could convince Diana... but that's going to take a looooot of change. I'm sure they met at very different times in their lives when she saw potential . To say our MC is behind the 8-ball here would be an understatement, and to make the life changes necessary to satisfy Diana feels counterproductive to good storytelling. It feels like we'd be cutting off the corners of a square block trying to shove it into a round hole, and that's almost worse than a static protagonist. More likely possibilities are that either 1) he convinces Christina to show an interest, that he might never be the man Diana needed, but with some degree of growth on his part--at least don't be that lay-about frosh from the beginning of the game; a very low bar to pass--he could be the man Christina could look to... or 2) that he's finally ready to move on with his life. The latter would be a hollow ending (we love our happy endings, don't we?) but at least it would be a fine ending to a tale of progress... from childish pursuits to manhood.

I genuinely hate writing bad reviews about devs I once loved but sadly these peaked with their first game and it's been a decline ever since. Their first game was fantastic. It had a couple of major misses but overall it was a really good game. Their second game was less so. I know some people enjoyed it but personally I couldn't get behind it. The girls were bland and I didn't like the MC at all. Then we come to this game. First I saw the girls. I really like both character models and for a couple of updates I thought it was going in the right direction. Oh, how wrong I was. Since the game started over a year ago it's been treading water since. It just doesn't seem to be going anywhere. It's an incredibly slow burn game which is okay if the story hooks, this doesn't. Everything is a slog. The "story" barely goes anywhere, character progression barely goes anywhere and my excitement barely goes anywhere. There is a saying for adult VN's, came for the sex but stayed for the story. Well, here there is barely any sex and barely any story. I really don't know what the devs are aiming for with this but whatever it is, it isn't working. I just don't understand how developers that got things so right with their first game have completely switched direction and got everything so wrong with this one. It's got 2 great looking female characters that are absolutely wasted in arguably the most boring game i've seen on this site and that pains me to type.

It's not terrible, but its nothing worth pulling people back either. You are never going to sleep with you friend. Its never happening. Do you know how I know? Because in 3 years while the dev is still dragging this out for a "slow burn" there still will be no sex with Chris. Maybe in that time you'll have some more sex with your GF, but not Chris. Though at this point I don't know why you'd want to with either past looks. They are both full of unnecessary drama and find any reason they can to rag on you. Now he's got your GF and her being BFFs and the only thing I can see happening is them ending up together just for the dev to spite you with this incredibly sexless game. Edit: Seems the dev has been reading the complaints and finally gave in......except now it reads like his GF is letting him fuck around with her annnnd shes happy about it. If it turns out this was some sort of scheme between the two and theres no option to dump both, then this is some shit.
Mii88 2025-08-04
The writing quality is fine but the biggest problem is that it doesn't take very long to make up your mind that both the girlfriend and the old friend are not worth bothering with. All you want to do is leave both of them and go find someone else. After that is really hard to commit to the slow burn to find out what happens. So what's the point? The story really needs more LI's to at least give you hope that something better might happen if you continue. Maybe that will come in later updates but you lose the will to find out. I know the dev likes to keep to a three character, love triangle with a redemption story and has done it successfully before (In TTOTB it was the alcoholic artist, the gallery owner and the student) but none of the characters are that likeable here. Where's the fun gone of previous efforts? A bit of a miss for a dev that has done this better before.
Anteron 2025-07-05
Mostly boring. Only 1 rather bland sex scene, and not with the one obviously meant as the main LI. Very little in the way of choices - might as well be a kinetic novel at this point. MC starts with a girlfriend who is a total bitch and the real LI kind of takes her side. Also, the dialogue is pretty bad. So far it's another one of those damn blueballing ultra slow burn snoozefests. There's a handjob (BORING!) scene with the girl from the past.
wpeale71341 2025-06-26
Tried very hard to find something at all likeable in this one. Unfortunately I could not do it. I hated all the characters. The side girl is a turn off after the 4th time she rejects him. The girlfriend cockblocks him and rejects him constantly. The Dev let them have sex once just so he could get the vaginal sex claim apparently because that was the only sex I saw in over an hour of skipping through the pointless drivel that is supposed to be a story. Sorry but dope fiends have a more interesting story than this dude has. And teh last dope head game I played they get laid way more too. The characters are not that good looking to be honest. The male is the best looking of the three and I am definitely not into guys. You need depression? This one will give it to you? Trouble sleeping? This one will put you right to sleep. Replayability? HAH! Not a chance.

+ literally nothing - conversations between characters.. they look like generated by some random sentence generator. They not make any fucking sense.. terrible - lewd scenes.. I don't even remember the last one. Total disaster - no real story, what is purpose of this game? - MC's girlfriend, what is that? It's even a human, robot? Humans have feelings, that "thing" definitely not One of the worst avns I played. 1 star

this game is for true patricians of the avn genre, ignore the haters. this is a story of flawed people and its a slow burn romance so be warned. this game showcases a great dichotomy of one relationship slowing dying, whilst another relationship begins to rise from its ashes, but its not handled like an avn , feels much more like real life. i have been in seemingly loveless relationships like the MC in this game, and i have struggled with desires outside of my relationships before. im not as much of an idiot as the MC is tho lmao, the biggest complaint i have about the game is that the MC is an idiot. but like i said, this game is about flawed people and i have definitely met people like the MC in my life before
IamUnderman 2025-04-09
For a guy who has been making adult games for over 7 years now this is extremly disappointing. It shows a shocking lack of growth and refinement. Actually feels like a step back. Plot and characters are so dull they make me sleepy. And the renders are just outdated. Would look OK for a game from 2017. In 2025 and with this much experience this is really awful.
InstaPrincess 2025-04-03
I can see what the Dev's trying to do and I liked it when he did it in Haley. It can be cute to see a developing romance like that, slow burn interactions and all that. Why does it crash and burn here then? Because for that you need chemistry and relatable, interesting characters. Haley carried her game. Christina is ok(ish), but the story set up is much poorer. It's a mystery what she sees in the MC, who is a bit of a bland asshole. Diana as his "girlfriend" is a total loss. With her being even worse than the MC, it's equally mystifing why he stays with her. There isn't any real, believable chemistry between any of them. All this comes down to the characters being so poorly written that they are on the verge of caricature. This tanks any relatability and investment in the story. It's just overall poorly done and the writing is to blame for that.

Unfortunately this is a rather poor game,. 'Taming' wasn't my cup of tea, but 'Haley's' was nice to a certain extent .This one has too many flaws. The renders are fine, but Diana's hair is totally buggered. The angles of some shots are just off and the scaling isn't always right. If the rest of the game was alright this would only cost 1 star. The story is basic and unoriginal, but there is a tiny bit of development of relationships so there's that. What really kills this game for me is the insufferable MC. He's just a total disrespectful dickhead. The only time he is a little decent is when he is talking to Christina. The rest of the time he is bitching and whining about everything and he treats Diana very poorly (and for what reason?) No idea why she doesn't kick his ass out. Part of me hopes the MC being pathetic human being is leading to something later on in the story, but looking back on the previous games, I don't think this dev has the skills (or will) to pull it together.

This AVN started out pretty good. I liked the concept of the MC running into someone from their past and finding out there is some kind of connection between them. I liked the MC's wife being a bit jealous/concerned even tho there seemed to already be some distance between the husband and wife. I think this is one of those cases where the dev had a good idea to start but now the story and characters are starting to flounder a bit. The dialogue is not great and the wife's behavior has become a bit odd so not sure what is going on. The developer seems talented enough to make it work, so I wish them well and hope they can get this AVN back on track.

Edit: version 0.55.1 - 2025-09-17 What started as a story about flawed people is remaining a story about people remaining flawed. Sadly, not only are the characters flawed, but the game contains numerous bugs as well. Renders don't change when they should, characters speak the wrong lines, and renders are often reused. I'm lowering my score from 4 to 2 stars. Version 0.15 - 2024-12-01 "Reconnections" is a story about flawed people. We have Dan, our renamable MC, who's a dumbass and a bit of an asshole. He's a man-child who doesn't take his responsibilities seriously. Diana, Dan's girlfriend, is a girl-boss type who has a tungsten rod up her ass. She's cold and distant toward Dan, and constantly berates him. Lastly, there's Christina, an old friend Dan reconnects with at a funeral. She's single and good-natured, and too good and kind to be true. While it's too early to tell where the game's story is going, it seems like its title works on several levels. Not only is Dan reconnecting with Christina, but Christina is also helping Dan reconnect with himself, and helps Diana and Dan reconnect with each other. The game's graphics are good, the models/LI look great and have a natural-looking body shape. There are no lewd scenes or animations yet, so nothing I can say about that. As a character-driven AVN, Reconnections is right up my alley. So far, it's doing everything right in that regard. It provides enough nuance and cause and effect to make these interpersonal conflicts and frustrations believable.

[reviewing v0.15] Both LIs are beautiful, so there's that. Everyone is calling the existing GF a frigid bitch or whatever, but frankly the MC deserves worse and I can't really see why she is staying with him in the first place. I don't know if this is really a VN instead of a KN; I have yet to make a choice to try to make the MC less of a useless jerk. This is still pretty early in development so maybe the MC has a redemption arc in the works but I have seen no hint of it yet, instead each release has made me want the LIs to ditch him for their own well being. [v0.20] I think I'm gonna unwatch the thread now and maybe check out updates if I see them arrive. I don't know if the dev is doing it on purpose but the MC is fundamentally unlikable, doing & saying things so insensitive that he seems to have been taught social etiquette by Pakleds. On top of that the writing for Diana (the existing GF) is... lacking. As mentioned previously she is obviously extremely dissatisfied with the relationship when the game starts. After that, the MC is generally inconsiderate to her in everything he does and is a terrible roommate , purposely conceals the gender of the "old friend" he just reconnected with , and even grabs her and jumps into a pool with her against her will, after she states that she doesn't like the water . There are so many red flags that she just ignores that it borders on insanity. She doesn't even seem to like him very much so why is she sticking around? And that last thing I mentioned, that would have been the last straw for me, but in this latest release she gets over it quick and there's even the option for the first sex scene in the game that night between her and the MC. -smh- Spoiler: Rant about trauma reaction Any adult who still has issues with water (like me) is that way because of past trauma. After the initial panic and fear and feeling like you're gonna drown subsides, all that emotional energy should have been funneled into either fight or flight mode. I don't see Diana running away in tears, she should have lashed out at the MC in some way, not just whimper a little bit to be comforted by Christina and then able to start learning to swim 30 seconds later. This was done by someone who she is supposed to be able to trust. Seriously, if something like that ever happens to me there will be blood and broken bones and likely some jail time. But she's all, "oh you asshole. ok lets learn to swim." WTF???
LadySpider 2024-10-28
Honestly, the only positive thing is the visuals look good. The monologue writing to me just looks horrible in my opinion and the conversations feel so robotic and unnatural. The updates come out pretty frequently but there is very little progression and choices, like I have no clue what the story even is other than playing a brain dead idiot going on secret dates behind his girlfriends back, while not realizing how it's a bad idea. There seems to be no direction currently on where this game is heading, you don't have much control over anything with the lack of choices, and it's hard to really connect with the two women in your life with how badly the interactions are scripted, in my opinion.
troll822 2024-08-01
A very good game by a very conscientious developer. The art is improving as Viit goes from game to game. The story is still early, but I do like what I see so far. While it is not slow, don't expect too much steamy action in the first update, or for a couple of updates following. There is charm in the game.
m0us3r 2024-07-30
It's hard to tell by the first version [v0.01], as there's not too much content, but generally it looks pretty nice and cute. Like in other games by Viit, there's a little bit of weirdness, and for now there is just the right amount to make it endearing. Though I hope that eventually there's not gonna be too much weirdness and too little sexiness, as in "Taming" (the previous game that I liked more in the beginning, but not that much at the end). The redhead is cute. The friend looks grumpy (no idea why). The girlfriend (soon to be an ex I assume) is a rigid bitch as expected. All in all, it looks promising. Could be enjoyable.
