Well, my worst fears came to fruition: it feels like the dev started something moderately interesting, then just kind of gave up the ghost partway through to focus on other projects ( that will probably never see the light of day, as is the norm lately ). Spoiler: Points in the game's favor [+] It does live up to its name somewhat, giving the player a solid rush of speed at the best of times with dash panels and boost rings. [+] It boasts a variety of cosmetics for your character with the collectibles you find, so it's unlikely you'll find two people with the same outfit combination. [+] The game has no problems instructing the player on what to do, so you never feel like something is out of reach . [+] Excellent maneuverability , both on the ground and arguably even better in the air with double-jumps, dashes, glides and little height boosts while attacking—the heights and distance you'll reach are insane. Spoiler: Points that detract from the game [–] Barring any exploration, the shortest level is around four minutes long with no deaths, and the longest being close to ten, so even the best levels in the game are a long drawn-out slog ... [–] ...and just as boring to look at—scenery pieces are placed about once every thirty seconds of playtime; once you get to "Celestial Canyon" (Stage 6) and beyond, prepare for tunnels and bare tracks that feel like they go on for miles with absolutely nothing to do . [–] The level design is not conducive to the added exploration aspect whatsoever, and while some magazine covers are more obvious than others, some levels are so barren that there's nowhere to hide bonus collectibles... [–] ...and speaking of collectibles, the 'gems' (currency for the outfit shop) are scattered everywhere with no rhyme or reason . In 0.1, the gems were in neat lines that you could run through and collect; in 1.0, it's like a bomb went off, throwing everything in all directions, so if you want to buy outfits, prepare to spend several minutes just running in circles. The game is sorely in need of some kind of substantial collectible magnet of some kind; you can easily run through narrow lines of gems and barely collect anything. [–] Speaking of 'running in circles', if you aren't holding up and looking straight forward, your momentum will die instantly . And yet, when you want to stop for something, you will skid for several hundred meters, potentially off a cliff ( there's a back-hop ability that's an instant brake, but the game doesn't tell you how to do it—hold the opposite direction you're moving and tap Jump ). I don't think I've ever been so disappointed in a game that I was truly looking forward to playing. If this is the complete and final version with no updates on the horizon, then your time will be better wasted elsewhere.
Honestly, it's a very strange game. Just run and collect crystals. The animation of the bunny's butt is good. The rest is not clear what for and why. Posters are hard to find. Jumping on columns is still fun.
