About Stepping Up
Stepping Up is a visual novel by sinister527, built in Ren'Py with 3D rendered art. You play a male protagonist returning to the only home he has known, carrying painful memories from a hard-fought war. The story follows his effort to reunite with familiar people, rebuild relationships, and see how changed they have become. He can choose a romantic path or a darker one, with humor and voyeurism among the adult themes.
The current build is v0.02, released on July 20, 2025. Development appears ongoing rather than finished. The game is available for Windows, Linux, and Mac, is in English, and is uncensored. The v0.01 update introduced an initial zone, while v0.02 is associated with corrected file names and a version-number issue.

Reunite with people from your past and try to pick up the pieces while having some fun along the way. Those around you have all grown up and changed in the time you have been gone. You will need to reconnect with them and rebuild your relationships. Will you follow the path of love, or something a little more sinister. The choice is yours, it's your time to step up!
