Survivor Strain is an adult adventure visual novel by Mr Baker, made with Ren'Py and presented with animated 3DCG artwork. It puts you in the role of a tourist who was trapped in South America when the first wave of infected spread. Two years later, the story takes place in the last remaining country on the continent, where you must decide what kind of leader to become while trying to survive and get home. The game mixes harem, horror, and dystopian themes, and almost all romances can be avoided, letting characters remain friends instead.
The current build is Season 1 v0.9.9.9, released on February 22, 2026, for Windows, Linux, and Mac in English, with no censorship. Development is ongoing, and this update is described as a full polish of the season. It revises dialogue throughout, fixes an old pacing issue caused by excessive pauses between renders, and adds many new images for smoother transitions. Adult scenes still use slower pauses, while the rest feels more cinematic. The changelog also notes professional proofreading and an in-game walkthrough.

It's been two years since the so-called first wave, where hordes of infected got everything in their path. During this time, countries fought with all they had in order to stop it. Many succeeded, and many were completely lost. You were just a tourist caught during those events.
The story begins two years after the first wave in the last remaining country of South America, but for how long will this last? Will you be ready? What kind of leader will you become? How will you handle your enemies? Will you just eliminate them? Will you intimidate them to the point of fearing you? Or will you try to find a peaceful way?

Season 1 -
v0.9.9.9
As many of you know, this update is a full polish of the entire season. I went through every single dialogue line, and everything should now feel much smoother and more natural. The original beta release still needed a lot of refinement, so this update focuses heavily on that.
I also fixed the old “pause” issue. I used to add pauses to almost every render so players could enjoy the visuals, but in the long run, it hurt the pacing. Now the scenes should feel more cinematic and fluid. Adult scenes still include pauses since they benefit from a slower rhythm.
Throughout the game, I added many new renders to make transitions smoother and enhance the overall experience.
All dialogues were improved and proofread by professional proofreaders.
In-game Walkthrough: I added a simple in-game walkthrough that you can turn on or off in the settings. It’s still basic for now, but I’ll expand it as I work on the next season.
One thing that still needs work is the codex. I’ll continue improving it while developing Season 2.
I’m sorry this update took longer than expected. Since I’ve been working part-time lately, progress slowed a bit, but I’ve still been giving it my 1000% to make sure we create something truly special.
The season will continue receiving small improvements as we move into translations, but nothing major — the big clean-up has already been done.
I really hope you enjoy this much more polished experience now. From the beginning, it should feel much better. I even added a nice song to the intro. I hope you enjoy it. This story is one I gave my heart to making. I really hope you can enjoy it as much as I enjoyed creating it.

- I added many more renders to the whole game so the transitions look much better.
- I further improved the "pauses" issues. I used to add a lot of intentional pauses, which seemed to be annoying. Now the pauses will be only when you select choices like "watch" or "look carefully." No more random pauses whatsoever.
- I added more animated angles and animations to several adult scenes, also improving several adult scenes significantly.
- Cyan has more adult and romantic scenes.
- Rosa gets an animation, and her dialogues were also much improved.
- There are a couple of secret endings.
- Audio was also polished further by purchasing more professional sound packs and effects.
