If any game breaking bugs are discovered, it's always possible for me to downgrade and fix them, but it'll be a huge pain in the ass to do. But, still entirely possible.

this is one of the best dives into old games yet. combining the best from the old zelda, and the best from the modernity, while also adding gimmicks around it. though, sometimes no matter how you change the old, it is still... well, the old. and i agree with a lot of points that have been already said in other reviews about the combat, and being somewhat repetitive. but when i played it, i just really enjoyed the whole thing - the difficulty, animation, style, exploring. and even the gallery has interesting range of fetishes overall a game i would recommend just to enjoy the process
It's a good game, despite for me the contols and the game mechanic is little bit suck, but you will ge the hang of it the more you play. The secrets in the game is a bit tiring to find out but in my case i still have fun with it, i wish there's more stuff to the animation.
Alright game, but it just gets repetitive. The combat is not that fun with the funky sword animation having a weird hitbox, and getting behind enemies are unnecessarily complicated. The scenes are alright, although they could've benefited from a slightly higher resolution. The map is okay, and traversing is fast, but sometimes it's a bit overcomplicated. Overall, worth a shot if you're into the tags.
There are games you play for the porn and there are porn games you play for the gameplay and there are some you play for both This is definitely one of the both cases. This game is really creative, it is very unique, it has great gameplay a silly story that doesn't take itself too seriously and a very unique style to it overall I am not much for furry myself and I even am generally not a big fan of male protagonist games. I myself am female and mostly only play female protagonist games. But here and there male protagonist with yaoi (gay) content if it is cute enough I am all for that. If you wonder why just think how many men enjoy lesbian porn. Some women enjoy yaoi porn for the same reason but mostly if it has a level of cuteness to it As for the furry content while it is not my personal fetish I can enjoy furry adult games if they lean more towards the human side of things, probably a furry term for it but I can't recall what that is right now and since Tailbound does lean more towards furry characters that look very human I can enjoy it Tailbound is simply a high quality adult game and I strongly recommend it for all the reasons above
I'm not super familiar with what exactly everyone was talking about in the reviews. I did finish this game a while ago though, so I might be a bit vague. From what I remember, I had a GREAT time with Tailbound . Overall very nice art. I can agree for the most part, that it lacks sound, but the fact that it is a genuinely entertaining game is a nice treat. There was a vision here that was fulfilled, not without its flaws, but still a good time.
personally i think its great and a tailbound 2 should be released on steam or on here (maybe with an extended story and some straight stuff too) but off of that topic unless anybody wants to hear more i think that it has a great many places it could improve such as controls and dialog but the story and the nsfw is great and so is the combat and level lay out i hope this was a good review
The game is just, as a whole, okay. This developer is well known for never finishing projects they start, and this is the closest they've gotten. They used stock sounds for most of what's in the game, and that's still incredibly lacking. Lewd sounds are essentially non existent, movement sounds are terrible and annoying, and a lot of the sparse sounds present are ill fitting to the game itself. The art and animations are nice enough, and the gameplay loop is surprisingly nice for something like this. Being able to heal off fucking or getting fucked is something most porn games lack, and a feature that embodies what porn games are supposed to be. The biggest props towards the game comes from that alone. A big issue, though, comes from the overall simplicity of each sex scene. It's just a basic loop with a finishing sequence, and although that also puts it above many others that lack any kind of cum, you also have almost no control over the scene at all. There's a small meter that builds up, then you press a button to finish and the scene ends. Again, slightly better than a lot of games, but only slightly. The biggest issues comes from the fact that this is not a free game, nor was it ever. If you followed production of this game, the "full" version was released months prior to the "final" version, which released at half price. Months went with promises of the game getting unique sounds, but that was later scrapped because they were deemed "Too expensive". I'll have to leave out more details out of fear of infringing on this platform's rules about mentioning the developers, so I'll leave it at this: The game promised one thing, then delivered another when it would have been an inconvenience to meet said promise. It sat in a state of limbo for quite some time, then updated to the bare minimum to not technically break any promises made. The game is just alright, but following the development cycle of it leads to several contentious points of what should have been, could have been, and now is. Overall, the game has decent, albeit an often annoying gameplay loop, enjoyable animations with a nicely diverse range of fetishes, and not awful levels marred by very lazy decision making and a lack of commitment to any project.
4/5 (v 0.1.9) Art -> Great Pixel art and animation. Writing -> Mostly plot centric with some nice flavor on scenes. Gameplay -> Competent Hack n' Slash Content -> A substantial experience, though fetishes are niche. Held back due its abandonment so close to completion and the lack of music.
(Talking about 0.18) A decent follow-up to Thirstchasm. Being a top-down Zelda-like furry porn game is a novelty, however some mechanics are very janky, such as enemy detection, the final boss's ridiculous difficulty curve and the fact that in area 1, you essentially have to block out an entire path because of key shortage, which was intentional seing as there's one version of an important collectible on both routes. Bonus (Or rather Mali-) points for being developped by Carpetwurm, who has a track record of abandoning multiple of his projects, the two predecessors (Tailbound Classic and Thirstchasm included). It is good for what it is now. Don't expect any improvements.
Game is pretty good but has some annoying parts The current version ( v0.1.7 ) is, according to the Dev, mostly finished with some exceptions like sounds and music. The overall gameplay is exploring rooms, killing things and solving puzzles. Combat is mostly good, although nothing exceptional. Many rooms swarmed with normal enemies are best left alone and can be a chore if you decide or have to clear out the room - Bosses on the other hand are pretty well made (Up until the hotel area - i didn't finish anything beyond this) Dodging and swinging your sword takes a bit getting used to and is a bit clunky but a minor annoyance at worst. In order to topple enemies and get one of their two scenes, you have to attack them from behind - this is usually very frustrating as you have a tiny timeframe to do that - combined with the slightly clunky movement and bad stealth system, this is a chore to do. Puzzles are mostly alright. Pushing boxes does not work well with the character's movement speed which sometimes results in you pushing boxes against a wall, forcing you to reset the room or pushing multiple boxes at once due to your character's hitbox. They also get repetitive very quickly. Overall, this game is fun to play , if you like these kind of games, but gets repetitive after a while. The sex scenes look great but lack variety. (The game also lacks atmosphere due to not having music but this is a beta after all and will get implemented) I'd give it 3 1/2 stars if i could.
This game for me is nearly unplayable for two really bad reasons. 1: Attack is the interact button, so half the time I was playing this I'd end up reading something or the like, rather then hitting something. 2: The revenge/rape/whatever requires you to press the dodge/roll button, rather then the attack button. (I don't see why you'd ever want to attack a downed creator, but the game is far more will to lunch me across the map then actually fuck a dude, which is the main way of getting back health.) I have no clue who made this very obvious mistake, and it doesn't help that all the animations are as stiff as a board. If the Dev actually reads this, I like the art and story, just make Interact work via pressing dodge while not moving, and attacking downed foes cause the fuck event, wouldn't mind being able to move while acting as well, but that might make the game too easy.
Gameplay is similar to old zelda games, so i could play something like this even if sfw but it also have all this sex animations that are pleasant if you are into furries. it is just v0.1.7 so im eager to see more
This game suffers from a lack of polish (it is a closed beta after all) and some parts of the game are just painful to go through (anything that includes falling pits is a nightmare, last area and secret boss are just beyond stupid) and I'd recommend playing Thirstchasm (Carpetwurm's first game) over this for the time being. If you enjoyed the first one and want a fixed map version with lore and can stand slightly weaker gameplay ? This one's alright. What's already in the game though is much better than what you usually see in a beta though, everything works fine for the most part, and I haven't broken the game unlike how alot of paywalled betas tend to be. The art is about what you'd expect from a gay furry porn game, mostly the usual dick in ass situation but with a couple more options to keep the game interesting, the writing is atrocious though. Right now, outside of one enemy type and the secret boss, every fight is perfectly manageable.
So I've played three of this guy's games and this one seems to be ThirstChasm (his first game) and the original TailBound (essentially a puzzle game with basic "sneak past enemies" stealth) merged into one. It, sadly, does not work well. Now, let's get the main reason we're all here out of the way: The porn is average at best. Sure, it's animated, but getting some of it is hard and the stuff you get isn't that great. There's a few good bits but I'd prefer the original stuff to the new version. Now, if you're looking for actual game mechanics... Oh boy, this is rough. The combat is pretty broken as you can be stunlocked into death, enemies have a longer range than you and you can't do shit about it beyond rolling more than Limp Bizkit (and the hidden boss is bullet hell, seemingly a reference to Undertale, but this game isn't designed for bullet hell). Then there's platforming. Oh, the platforming... Bottomless pits with moving platforms you can only just get off, electric wires that WILL stunlock you and either kill you or knock you off a ledge and reset your progress in platforming, and timed run/roll situations that you need to go over again and again which annoy the crap out of you. I would strongly advise any player to just save edit your stats to 10 and max your cash at 999, cos it'll make the game enjoyable and the porn easier to get. Otherwise, there was an attempt at a porn game but it isn't as good as the two it was birthed from. If the previous efforts from Carpetwurm were parents, they'd be disappointed in the child that is this game. Substandard gameplay with mediocre porn doth not make it worth your while.
First off, the positives: The gameplay is fun and entertaining. The animations are well polished. It's overall really appealing to the eye. Sadly, Tailbound does suffer from a huge difficulty spike on the last level. The platforming in the last level isn't really fun. The timing of some of the jumps can be extremely complicated due to the overall game design. The last boss even after destroying all the cells has a really cheap difficulty. I could compare it with Mk2, where the cpu itself is tweaked to fuck you up. Overall, the game is okay, but the end simply kills it for me.
Overall this is a well polished game, don't understand some people hate behind it. Combat is hard at first, but can be easily skipped. It gets so much easier once you unlock stats from the shop. Puzzles aren't stupidly tough and the exploration is pretty good, there is no need for backtracking. Animations is simple and quick but there are plenty and I like the artstyle, so I am pretty ok with it. It's a big step up from his old version of the game. If you have played the old one, you will know this is a huge improvement in every factor.
This is a competent enough Zelda-like that suffers from some really ropey hitboxes and tedious backtracking when you die. The game is easy to stumble through. Sex scenes are unlocked by knocking down/being knocked down by each enemy which is easy to arrange but does tend bloat the game. The user interface, maps and sprites all look excellent and there are many sex scenes that are all fully animated; however the artwork is so highly stylised that I found it a turn off. The writing in the sex scenes is also laughable - I don't know, maybe 'pumping it into his chubby donut' is your idea of dirty talk? It's fine, if you find it a turn-on you'll probably love it. If you don't, it'll just be frustrating.
Im surprised it was even finished, but the game is really frustrating near the end. Especially the lightning area where you can get stunlock and insta kill. Plus those fucking bird enemy mist attack that can fill your bar to the max . frustrating platforming, really boring puzzles with no actual thinking needed and most combat you pretty much lure an enemy to a wall and spam your sword till they die. Not the worst game i played, and a furry porn game that is finished is a rare sight so i'll give it a 3. Would have been good to add straight scene since theres female sprites laying around doing nothing, would have given game variety
The enemies are too crowded for stealthy combat. Forceful sex to the MC in the main story. The combat is an imbalance, you need to knock down your enemy from behind if you want to dominate them but your enemy will grab you anytime to fuck your ass. The sex scene also imbalance, the enemy will shove their dick to your ass or mouth but you can't always do that, slutty innocence type MC. Lack of sex option. In the end, win or lose you are the one who must please the enemy. Be the best bitch in town.
Developer is a salty guy but I can respect his work and overall philosophy for game-making. And the game itself is very good by my standards, highly M-M content, overall neat artstyle, wish there were more erotic games like this!
