This could be so damn good- if it wasn't for the actual h-scenes and their audiovisual presentation. Story and world building are excellent (for a porn game) and actually interesting, the side-characters/LIs are hot (yet most a bit too similar in their traits and behavior)- but how the game handles sex scenes is simply outdated and lazy trash. Repetitive, ugly and oversimplified animations connected with pseudo decision within them (u can basically switch between a few different choices of textline / how MC acts and reacts within a h-scene, but the "animation" stays the same until you choose to "continue"). Furthermore, game uses one boring background-theme for all sex scenes without according sex sfx, moaning or voicing at all. Its still worth playing since world building is so good, pacing of development has slowed tremedously within the last two years though and this project has become yet another "lets milk my patreon cows"-thingy with only minor tiny updates every half-a-year or so. Still worth checking out (if you're into the represented kinks), just a bit sad how much potential there would be if writing, presentation, visualization and audio of the actual sex scenes would be up to "modern" porn game standards and the dev gave a shit about actually progressing/finishing this game in a reasonable pace.

I've been a fan of Darktoz since the Dark Elf days. As time passes on the games improve and entertain me more and more. This is their latest and in my opinion one of my favorite. You don't know me, but this game is DEFINITELY worth a look.

DISCLAIMER this is a review made for version 0.4.8 . Taking this into account and not be done like if it were a complete game and will be done again in the future when its done or similarly alot of content is released. The game has some strong points which should be applauded like the nascent world building and story,the immersion,the characters,although the game is not even close to being finished (there are only 4 episodes now) and almost nothing beyond the main story,no sidequests,just some optional encounters at night inbetween nights. The game does a good job for this beta stage of explaining and manifesting how such a demonic world would look like,if purgatory was ruled by invaders,usually femdom world type games are done horribly for the worldbuilding part,they dont explain those parts well but this game does it and shows it and how relationships with those kinds of females/demons/creatures would look like. It gets many points for the variety of fetishes and kinks,of characters,of locations,of the techno-magical mix present,the latex and rubber clothes that I love,weird and crazy parts of the story,etc. Right now its too early to say what the big drawbacks of this game are but there are things that have to be mentioned like linear story,limited if any choices,small impact of the "choices",dialogue is mostly flavor and doesnt change anything nor reveal anything major,items are yet useless,too much focus on parts of the story or fetishes that are controversial or not important,chaotic development of the story,story and choices not mattering after the fact like that psycho who wanted to trap you in painting for eternity,you let her with a slap on the wrist,not even that. Normally I'm not a big fan of very dark, kinky novels. This one is different. There is very early in the novel the possibility to select, what kind of kink you are interested in and what not. This is kept during the current version of the novel. And yes, there are some really dark ones and the ladies are not nice at all to the male "MC". Still it was fun to follow and I do hope that we see more of it. I compared it with older novels of the creator, much better technic used, really superior to the old style topic she/he has done in the past. All minutes spent to watch have been worth while

Better than the other games but still not that good. The story and setting are decent enough, though it all could be introduced slower. The character have nice designs but their personalities blend together too much especially in the sex scenes where every girl speaks like the same type of domina, like every girl says you get no breaks when you ask for one shouldn´t at least some give it why even have the option to ask that in the sex scenes when it´s always the same response. The sex scenes are boring, because as previously said every girl acts the same, the animations aren´t good and they just feel boring. The music is okay. The gameplay is bad, it a linear game with a lot of "choices" exp, items and level ups and spells and a map, but nothing of that matters at all. The UI isn´t good either I appreciate the effort of it not looking like every renpy game, but it has no purpose and is rather just distracting.

They follow us into our depths and beyond. Whether we will ever emerge from them again remains unknown. The renders are well done, and the images pull you straight into the dark setting. The background music and sound effects are well chosen and support the atmosphere effectively. In its current version, the VN offers a wide range of creative bad endings. The story is interesting, and the mistresses are visually appealing and varied. During interactions, we often have to choose a reaction for the MC. This gives the impression that these choices should influence the course of the story, but I did not notice anything like that. At the moment, the only meaningful choices seem to be those that lead to a bad ending. We’ll see whether this changes in the future. Another point of criticism is the highly repetitive H-scenes. There is a lot of boot licking, ass worship, and similar acts that repeat across most LIs. Given the large number of female characters, this becomes rather monotonous over time. Shadow over Blackmore did not fully convince me, but it is good enough to be worth a look for anyone who enjoys femdom and BDSM. For now, I’m giving it 4 stars .

The reason I gave this score is to offset some very pragmatic issues that I feel could make this game awesome if worked on (but who knows, maybe I'm the only one tripping over them). The animation delay. in 30% of the cases, when a character would say something, she smiles, turns her head, raises her arm. And that's all good. What's annoying is that in the current game, there is always half a second of delay used to 'animate' this change. the result is: "Hello you male slut" [nothing] character slowly smiles "Take of your shirt" other games apply the change in expression with the new dialogue, and won't add a 0,5 second delay​ my 2nd issue are the sex scenes. You always have the following choices: Do what the person asks you praise the person for asking you this refuse to do what the person asks you insult the person (continue on) the thing is, I don't know exactly what to do with these options. Do I lose relationship point if I insult her? or is that simply for people who have a "brat"-kink? also, do what the person asks you, and continue often are more or less the exact same thing. What I' saying is, this sex-menu really confuses me, and I don't really know what to do with it, or what the influence of this is on the game​ insights struck me as an awesome way to add an RPG element to a simple concept as an AVN. The more insights you gather, the more options you get to advance the game. So, I thought that information gathering was a large part of it. However, in certain situations, when you click on things and get info, it nearly never leads to insights. So I'm left wondering; why can my character ask the snot out of people's noses all the time? closely related to the previous: I love world-building. I love lore. I definitely love what the author has done with this game. What I'm iffy about is how it is brought. it's heavy, it is really, reaaally heavy. I lot of the information is repeated over and over again a lot of the rules are implied by nearly every person you meet everyone needs to say something about everyone and everything which can become really dense in short, what I'm trying to say is that the way the world, plot and reality is brought to the player could use an update. what is definitely grating is when there are 4 people in a room, and you can click on them all, and have a menu which shows numerous questions and I'm the kind of guy who wants to know it all​ which perfectly follows my next point: insights and information gathering. So, one thing I remarked is that sometimes, you can ask one question, and one question alone. you have 4 topics you can ask, you ask your question, and then the dialogue moves along. Initially what I thought was that you had to be strategic about what to ask. But after some saving and loading, I never saw "insight gained" regardless of which question I asked. I'm left wondering then, what's the point then? in short, I don't really understand how the game works, and - maybe it's just me - But I wonder if it can be presented in a more clear way?

This game is so damn cool. I am not really into hell and demons and all that, but it really does the theme well. Interesting world and lore to the point I actually am reading the story. The models are fantastic, and this game actually has animations. A flaw is a lot of the fetishes are repeated with some characters. Like its a lot of kind of the same flavor of dominance, especially with side characters. So like a lot of licking feet/boots. Spoiler Another thing is the contract mechanic might be a little confusing in the future. I am not sure if I signed a contract with Sybill, and whether I basically hard committed to her super early on. We will find out eventually I guess. (Review of v0.4.7) Animations and SFX are quite vanilla but I reckon the story itself and the setting are remarkably good. Most sex scenes are of the extreme kind but every character is interesting in some or other way. I'd say in this case it is fitting to have many possible LIs, and it is up to you to have your "fun" with them or reject them while you try and survive another day without losing yourself and keep figuring what's going on in this nightmarish place. The models are also varied in age and looks, not to mention, shall I say "species"... Being bitten by Bellatrix is very erotic and the outfits are very stylish.
