'Tis The Reason is an adult Ren'Py visual novel by Mourning Magician, presented with 3D CG and animated scenes. You play a male protagonist entering a winter holiday season while finalizing a divorce. The divorce papers are already processed. The story follows his attempts to get his soon-to-be ex-wife’s signature and move on, while a possessive ex and a shy bartender become part of his story. Episode 1 of 6 focuses on two of four romanceable characters this episode.
The current build is Episode 1 Part 1, version .1, released on July 12, 2026. Development remains ongoing because the game is planned as six episodes. It runs on Windows and Linux in English and is uncensored. The initial release includes 467 renders and 8 sex animations.

'Tis the Season to be (Un)Married! Divorce is never an easy road to walk, especially when there's a winter chill in the air and bells jingling all around... The world you once knew well is coming to an unceremonious end. It wasn't a surprise, not really. Things with your soon-to-be ex-wife had been spiraling for a while. You were a trooper for a while, soldiering through it, hoping and praying that something besides filthy make-up sex might be on the horizon. There wasn't. Spoiler You stayed anyway. Longer than you should, longer than you thought possible. Someone had to take out the trash and feed the dog. The divorce papers are finally processed. All you need is her signature to finalize it and move on with your life... If only it were that fucking easy. Christmas cheer and existential dread are a heady brew.
