v0.1.5-bugfix
Fixes a few bugs that happen when enemies try to use certain moves.
As well as an issue when reaching max lust during a battle and an issue with an enemy on a bed in the Radenfell Barracks dungeon
v0.1.5
Not compatible with past saves
No new story or sex content this time around
Anyway here's the list of changes for this combat rework:
Added damage types to give a bit of flexibility in how you can choose to approach a battle (there are now 11 total damage types, broken up into 3 main categories to simplify player resistances)
Physical: Blunt, Slash, Pierce
Arcane: Chaos, Holy, Fire, Water, Air, Earth
Mental: Seduction, Psychic
Changed how damage calculation works (player damage resistance is now percent based that stacks multiplicatively instead of a flat damage reduction)
Enemies now have a preferred move that will hit more often than other moves they know (bosses also have a bonus action now that has a 50% chance to trigger)
Any sort of magical ability now takes mana to cast (added mana bars for both player and enemies)
Attacks/Abilities now have a range value (melee/ranged) which will be taken into account for some status conditions (probably need to update some UI stuff to show range, oops)
Added status conditions:
Blind: Cannot use ranged attacks while blind
Stunned: When affected by stun you cannot take your main action for that turn
Strengthened: Each stack gives a 10% bonus to attack
Weakened: Each stack gives a -10% bonus to attack
Hardened: Each stack gives a 10% bonus to defense
Softened: Each stack gives a -10% bonus to defense
Flying: Not affected by melee attacks
Burned: Stacking 5% Current HP damage at the start of turn
Wet: Air typed attacks will always crit against a wet target
Poisoned: 5% Max HP damage at the start of turn
In Heat: Cannot use Physical or Arcane type attacks
Silenced: Cannot use Arcane or Mental type attacks
Added a Charisma stat for player and a lust meter for both player and enemies (note you start with a low charisma stat so trying to seduce enemies at this point in the game might be a bad idea, I'm still messing with the values on this so keep that in mind.)
Added emitter moves (the only ones in the game right now are magic missile and a special skeleton summon for the necromancer boss, pretty basic for now, will expand upon in the future)
Added some new consumable items and swapped them in where health potions used to be (more item variety in dungeons)
Also I added a small black outline on most of the text in the game to improve readability.
A few things to keep in mind as well, right now winning a battle with lust doesn't do anything different (because the victory/defeat scenes aren't done yet) and some status conditions won't be seen yet as there's nothing that inflicts them yet.
v0.1.4.2
-Updated Tileset (Dungeons now have their own distinct feel based on their environment)
-Part 1 of Sigrun's Sidequest
-2 new dungeons as part of this sidequest (Note: These dungeons are missing some hidden content I had planned that I wasn't able to get to this time around)
-A couple new items in the dungeons
-Character Dialogue art for Lilith and Sigrun
-Optional spicy scene as part of Sigrun's quest (Text only for now)
v0.1.3.1
- 2 new dungeons (one is optional depending on your choices)
- Part 1 of Lilith's quest (both dungeons are part of this questline, if you missed meeting Lilith in the first floor of the Spider Queen's lair you'll have to load from an earlier point or start a new game)
- Added art for Fiolett's anal scene
- 1 new weapon
- You can now swap party members at the camp (this will become more useful when more party members get added)
v0.1.2.1
Technical:
- Saves inside of dungeons are no longer broken!
- Scene replay has been added in the menus
Content:
- Added art for Amber's anal scene
- Added art for Beastmaster boss
- Added art for Necromancer boss
- Added art for Cult Leader Boss
- Added a new dungeon to explore
- Small continuation of the main questline (Brings us up to the Highforge introduction)
- A few new items to be found (New boots, pants, tunic, and dagger)
v0.1.1.3
Content:
- Added art for Spider Queen interaction + Sex scene illustrations
- Added a couple written scenes for Amber and the Ward keeper (both anal)
- Added companions (Can be found in dungeons/Through Amber's quest)
- Amber's companion quest can now be completed and the next part of the main quest was added (It's pretty small and is just to get to the sex scene with Fiolett)
- The camp is now its own special type of dungeon where you can rest and interact with any companions you acquire throughout your journey (It's fully dynamic and will change as you gather more allies)
Technical Changes:
- Sounds! Sound effects and music have been added to the game.
- First part of UI refresh (Dungeon, Battle, Map, Inventory, and Journal UI's have all been updated)
- Slight battle system update (Added end turn button, companion abilities now have cooldowns, and you can bring 4 consumables into a fight.)
- Affection system partially implemented, your choices will now affect how characters feel about you (As of right now Amber's scenes are the only ones that are affected by this)
- Some bugfixes for bugs that were reported when I was close to finishing this version
v0.1.0.1-bugfix
- Removed references to an outdated tileset which was causing some issues with some of the dungeons
- Fixed some logic on one of the boss encounters causing unwanted loops after entering another dungeon
v0.1.0.1
Major Changes:
- Complete Dungeon overhaul (still working on some things but it's mostly complete and not as jank as it used to be)
- Puzzles are now a thing (sometimes required for completing a dungeon/quest)
- Fluid movement through dungeons (no need to spam the same button over and over anymore)
- Monsters now move around the dungeon and exhibit their own unique behavior
- Players now need to press an interaction button to grab items/open chests/ interact with puzzles
- Bosses now have their own cutscenes (I'm planning for this open up some more storytelling/sexy time options)
Minor Changes:
- The inventory/journal screens will now close when you open the other (prevents needing to close 2 screens when you want to exit out of them)
- The pages of the inventory screen now cycle back to the beginning/end instead of getting stuck at one side or the other
- You can now unequip items/abilities by clicking on the slot it's equipped in
v0.1-bugfix
- Fixed an issue where interacting with the necromancer on the second visit to the dark reach dungeon would break the game
- Fixed some game breaking interactions with the inventory tutorial
- Fixed a wall in dark reach dungeon that was able to be walked through
-Fixed an issue where stepping on a hidden switch too many times in a row would throw up an error
v0.1
Initial Release
What's in this version:
- Start of the main quest line "To Save a King"
- Start of two side quests "Farm Life" and "Magic Apprentice"
- Complete side quest "Meal Time"
- 4 Dungeons to explore (not including tutorial)
- 2 Illustrated Spicy Scenes
- 2 text only spicy scenes
- A handful of gear items and abilities to use (a few hidden items as well)
Pros: The art, is phenomenal The dialogue is interesting enough for it not to be stale The story is ambitious enough for me to play it without the smut The updates feel meaningful, and actually adds progress to the story Cons: The use of unrefined AI in the intro, background and certain enemies is very much off-putting(to me!), it's not a deal breaker but I wish the artist took a quick once over on each piece and remove some smudge. The combat is repetitive at best, you figure out which attack works the best for the current enemy of the dungeon and you spam it until it's over. The gameplay loop is: go to NPC, "find me the macguffin". go into one to three dungeons, find the macguffin. return to the NPC, "This is not the true Macguffin". Repeat, with some chance of getting some spicy scences. Still somewhat buggy, I encounter a new crash each patch which I have to side step.
I can't really recommend this game as it is. The art is pretty decent, and I supposed the writing is okay, but that's where the good points end. I'm generally against putting combat/dungeon crawling in games like this for the exact reason it fails so miserably here - it sucks. I'm guessing the dev has zero game design experience, and it really shows in the combat, as it always does in porn games with combat. It's the typical turn-based system that's always used, with all the problems that system always has. The only difference between any of your attacks is how much damage they do, and pretty much the sword attack always does the most, so there is literally zero incentive to ever do anything but that. So, it really just boils down to a clicker-game, where the only "game play" is clicking a couple of buttons (sword swing, end turn, repeat). This lackluster combat is further compounded by the fact that there's currently a bug that makes it so when you run out of HP, you just win the fight and are healed to full. I'll give the game a couple points for the slight novelty of there being actual dungeons where you control your little pixel guy, but beyond the novelty, the dungeons are really just a waste of time. There were a couple of H-scenes I got to see before the game bugged so much that I couldn't continue - the ancient city dungeon's puzzle seems to be broken - and, they were okay, I guess. But the dev doesn't seem interested in actually writing a story. It's just porn with a little but of set up, really. I honestly don't see how anyone can give this more than 3 stars. Maybe it will improve with time, but I wouldn't hold my breath.
Version: v0.1.3.1 Its still far too early in this games development to give it a proper review. But what is here is a great first taste of what it could be. So i will give it a 5 stars review for its potential and wish the devs good tidings.
Feb 13, 2026 - No updates since July of 2024. I do recommend downloading the art and looking up the artist, Sulcate! To Save a King is early in development but features top notch art and promising exploration and combat. So far it all seems to be futa on male MC which sets it apart. Check back in every so often on this one!
When I first looked at his game some months ago it didn't look very good but now that I have waited for more updates and played it it's a surprisingly good game. Seems like the game is buggy but it doesn't hinder the enjoyment. Some of the cock sizes are a bit too much for me but it seems some of the new art are great for me. Looking forward to new updates from this game.
This is a really nice start. Pros: - good art - good gameplay - hot scenes - so far good ideas with systems - interesting story and progression Cons: - limited art/no animations This is a good one, very promising start with a nice framework to fill with more content, lowered the score by 1 star because of lacking amount of art, while its quality is really nice the quantity leaves a lot to be desired even as just supporting medium to the text based scenes.
> AI art everywhere but on the characters and on missions > No music > Everything is extremely basic, except the character art (and there isn't a lot of them, either) > Pointless combat and dialogue There isn't really a lot else to say
Well, this got me hoping for an update. The art is amazing, and the gameplay itself is interesting(A futa on male dungeon crawler game) Hoping to get updates soon, the only bad thing I found is that the game sound is bugged, but it's an initial release so I don't mind, really.
A very promising start with huge potential! Excellent drawings, and a great atmosphere. The dungeon crawling part is well done and fun. It's quite well written, and the scenario opens up a multitude of possibilities to exploit. I hope there'll be some background music to give this fantasy world a real atmosphere. For a demo, the duration is very good, and I can't wait to see what happens next!
Art is really good, looks kinda like Sulcate, fetishes for now are futa on male(right my alley), dungeon crawling and fighting are there just to stretch the play time between sex scenes but are bearable, too much exposition on worldbuilding for my taste, but its skipable so its fine. Waiting patiently for more content.
