VERITAS EXPOSITA
follows aspiring journalist Ali Taylor on a three-episode journey (plus a prologue) deep into the world of sex work—one choice at a time.
Inspired by Our Red String (Eva Kiss), Female Agent (Crushstation), and the introspective vibes of Life is Strange,
VERITAS EXPOSITA
is a text-driven, multi-path narrative with hand-drawn visual elements and a sleek, journalism-themed UI. It blends the depth of interactive fiction with the structure of a visual novel, offering an immersive and emotional experience.
In this prologue episode,
Through the Lens
, you guide Ali through doubt, entitlement, and moral sacrifice—all for the sake of a weekend trip to her best friend’s rented beach house.
Serving as both a proof-of-concept, and the foundation of a larger narrative,
Through the Lens
is Ali's first step into a world she never expected to be a part of.

Cool avatar, love this genre, will realy like to see how it countinues. For now this is demo game. Not sure why we need left side of the screen and so many choices that just change few words and nothing else. Maybe also add more action - less explicit descriptions will be good to me. And finily please don't copy topless bar, there are so much of it in FA, focus on something unique.

An enjoyable game, in my humble opinion. I hope the developer keeps at it and expands what is there as I do see the potential. I plan on keeping an eye on it and look forward to seeing where it goes. If you are not into text based games it won't be your cup of tea but it is fairly well written.

The subject's fine, the art is fine and I like this type of game but it's just not interesting and it's mostly because of the amount of text. I'm not going to tell the author how to cut it down but without changing much this needs at least 2/3 of it cut to keep it interesting because as it stand it feels like rambling. The MC is mildly interesting and her friend is not interesting at all so while their discussions and insights might be a bit too Jersey shore for my taste, they doesn't feel unrealistic, it's just not interesting because of the length. Also, the subject of the overly long start isn't very interesting. As an attempt at realism, this is fine but with everything else being as is, this didn't help.

v.0.8.5 The definition of graphomania. "introspective vibes of Life is Strange". Yes, exactly it. I've played through LiS and BtS with my friend, and she's a huge fan. But even she agreed to skip the journal reading. Because it's walls of text upon walls of text of some fanfic-like nothingness, half consisting of describing events that just happened, the other half being Max's long-ass reflection of these events, which no one gives a shit about. Now, imagine a whole game about this journal only. This is Veritas Exposita. The whole experience seems to be endless reflection and unimportant details, that add nothing to the narrative (and actually harm it). Like, even the dialogs are short compared to the above-mentioned things. You get one sentence of dialog, then two sentences of reflection, then four sentences of "i scratched my boob, looked through the window, paced around the room, whistled and prayed to the Macaroni God" and then you get the next line of dialog. For example, the first (second, this game seems to also have a fucked-up timeline. "Great") scene is basically "MC doesn't have money for a trip, her friend suggests doing a topless photoshoot". Yes, that is it. But it takes 15-20 minutes to read. Also, this game (at least the beginning of it) gives you ~10 choices that don't do anything. Some are just dead-ends, like "look at three places then move on anyway", others are just confusing, because game throws choices at you that you don't know anything about, like you need to evaluate a character's behavior BEFORE even introducing the character. On top of that, you only get to see the sprite shown in the pictures and that's it. Dear author, I suggest you to not learn writing from a game and rather read an actual book about writing. Here's a tip: fiction is about ACTION, and not description of unimportant events, or things, or a discourse. A story is about EVENTS, and if your story doesn't have events, it is tedious to read. I tried for an hour, but just dropped it in the end. And I like reading stuff in here, just FYI.

Inspired by some of the best NSFW games, ORS and Female Agent, Veritas Exposita (beta) is living up to its inspirations. Well-written character with a believable first step into sex work and hopefully, exhibitionism. The beta is already better than many games on this site, but time will tell if it will continue to impress. Edit: It's a slice of life game that focuses on exploring the actions and psyche of the MC. The introspection and little actions the MC takes is the point of the game. The constant friction the MC experiences with deciding whether to go through with taking a step or two outside her comfort zone is the action in the game. It's subtle and realistic. The little actions the MC does that Sakanaburu claims doesn't contribute to the game does contribute to making the character feel more real. It's the little things that often contribute to a character feeling less like a device and more like a person. It's the scenic route inside the corruption of the MC, rather than a direct drive into sexual deviancy. I hope the author doesn't listen to those saying it needs to be faster or focus on jumping from action-packed event to action-packed event, we have plenty of those over-the-top types of games already. Sakanaburu is right about the choices in this game not really doing anything. But it's just the first release of the demo so hopefully the game will give more agency to the player in the future.
