About What We Left Behind

What We Left Behind is an adult dating sim made with Ren'Py by Dreamscape Games. It follows Kareem, who faces a setback with a promotion and the death of his closest friend, and Nami, who confronts her failing artistic work and an unwanted family legacy. Their chance meeting intertwines their lives as they consider what to leave behind and what to become. The game uses 3D CG visuals and animation, with romance, humor, and interracial relationships among its themes.

The current build is v0.0.2, released on May 26, 2026, and development continues after the first release. It runs on Windows, Linux, and Mac in English, with no censorship. Compared with v0.0.1, this update adds over 5,000 renders, over 50 animations, multiple paths and replay potential, plus the Loves of Love content. The original launch included over 1,700 renders and 12 animations.

Often in life, it's those flashpoint moments that cause us to reflect on the decisions we've made, the directions we're going, and the things that are truly important. For Kareem, a failed promotion attempt and the death of his closest friend; for Nami, the reality of her failing artistic endeavors and a family legacy she never wanted as her own. Two strangers reckoning with pivotal forks, whose chance meeting will intertwine the webs of their lives forever. What lessons in love will one teach? Will it hurt? Will it heal? Will it push them towards or away from the paths they were meant to take? Help them choose what must be left behind, that they may grow into whom they're suppose to be.
