About Xissai: the Snake Temple
Xissai: the Snake Temple is a Ren'Py game by Aedian Glair, presented with 2D CG artwork. It follows two young orphan brothers, Seles and Sekhavel, who learn they are Xissai, half-snake magical beings favored by Xisseth and expected to join his temple as initiates. They leave their old lives behind, aware that they are entering unknown territory, yet unprepared for what awaits them. You play as a male protagonist, with themes of monster, transformation, and religion.
The game is a released build rather than a demo, and development is ongoing after the initial release. The current build is v1.02, released October 12, 2024. It improves the chances of reaching all three endings, making the previously harder bad ending easier to obtain. It runs on Windows, Linux, and Mac, is available in English, and contains censorship. Earlier fixes adjusted interface colors, added interface elements and a background, enabled fast graphics patching, corrected text alignment, and included other small fixes.
Developer's description
Two young orphans, Seles and Sekhavel, discover that they are Xissai, magical half-snake entities blessed by Xisseth himself and soon to become initiates in his temple. Abandoning their old lives, they know that they are throwing themselves into uncharted waters - but nothing could have prepared the two brothers for the reality that awaits them.
