A Crown of Thorns is an adult visual novel by Crested Crate Crew, built in Ren'Py with animated 3D CG art. It is a cyberpunk, post-apocalyptic story based on the IP of the award-nominated script Blade n Blood, described as a blend of Sin City and Blade Runner. It is the first of a trilogy set about twenty-five years before the film. You play Sebastian Luscious, whose ancestry traces to the founder of the Jerusalem Knights order and the victors in the War of Thorns, as the story follows his fall. The writing is by the best-selling Amazon author of the Nocturne litrpg series, and it includes dystopian setting, male protagonist, and lesbian themes.
The current build is v1.30, released on August 12, 2024, and development is ongoing. It runs on Windows and Linux, is in English, and is uncensored.
