It's kind of hard to express how messy I feel this last ending is. I don't think it was worth all the trouble for it. Certainly not the money it cost to do it. But I had said there would be four endings. I had also written it in its entirety. So I thought I might as well do it. But yeah. As the "last ending" of Aya Edition, this is… ugh…
I did the same thing with The Edge Of at the time, where I had an idea of something fun to do, so I wrote an additional ending simply for the heck of it. For The Edge Of, it worked surprisingly well… but not for this…
Anyway, I can go on and on, but that still wouldn't make a difference. I need to release it at some point. I did say it was a "bonus" ending, so I guess it's not that bad if we look at it that way.
Don't get excited by the numbers. Lots of CGs are very simple.
+ 31600 word (total: 517k words)
+ 16 CG sets (total: 150 CGs)
+ 5 lewd scenes (total: 73 lewd scenes)
You can reach this ending by:
- Not entering the infirmary
- Going to the subway station
You can also do the smarter thing and just use the ending selection menu which will bring you directly to the 24th of December (the abandoned factory).
So that's it. There might be a few small bugs, so if you find anything do tell me. But that's the last content drop for Aya Edition, and A Promise Best Left Unkept as a whole.

Unbelievable piece of trash. For one the corruption isn't even believable. Luca really isn't all that much of a stud except for the writing simply "declares" him as such. He's not that much bigger than the MC, and is a completely obvious and irredeemable asshole. Nothing he says or does should sway anyone, at all. The only logical conclusion is every girl in the game is a complete whore. Which would be fine except they aren't portrayed as such. It's all neatly hidden away until Luca comes along to "unlock" the bullshit. This game relies on porn logic to the point of being ridiculous. Also it's BARELY more than a VN, with long stretches of no choice non-stop dialog to slog through. Not worth the time it takes to drag yourself through for the repetitive scenes.
7 / 10 Deeply flawed masterpiece: the sequel. Spoiler - Technically, one of the best writing on this site. So I can't give it less than a '7'. - On the other hand - exactly because the writing is so well done - by the end the main girl becomes so repulsive and un-sexy that I can't give this SEX game more than a '7'. Generally, it's the same as the original - only Aya is the main girl, instead of Laura. So if you liked the first game, you'll probably like DLC too. And if you had problems with the first one - you'll probably have the exact same problems here too. But there're a couple of noticeable changes, that worth mentioning: Good: - Writing: Spoiler I saw a lot of people say that writing in the DLC got worse. I, actually, strongly disagree. Even though I like DLC less than the first game. The writing in the DLC is better. There's "stronger" and more detailed character arc for the main girl. Better foreshadowing - better constructed promises. //That is not a pun on the name of the game. It's a writing technique. To not sound groundless, one of many examples: Spoiler The whole "including Maya" cameo. To show - in detail - how exactly Luca ruin lives. On her example. - Luca lied and manipulated her. Made her doubt herself, people around her, and her whole world view. Destroyed her self-esteem and her view of her life. - Then, when he was done, he 'took' her with him, hooked on some drugs and sell her as a whore. While keeping her in debt to his gang - threatening her life if she'll try to leave. - All of it while she was still a kid - before she even left the high-school (if I'm not mistaken, I played this part a long time ago). - This kid had dreams: of becoming a volunteer, going abroad and helping people in need. Now she'll be a drag-addicted prostitute in debt to a gang probably for the rest of her life. All of it to foreshadow how Aya 'could' change. And even that with a twist. Luca wants to make Aya exactly as himself - so she'll be his 'Quinn'. He stated this objective multiple times. And this interaction with Maya is a 'promise' of what Aya may become after interacting with Luca: - She may 'win' - and stay true to herself as she is now. That's what she does in the first game. - Luca may 'win' - and then Aya becomes like him. And dialogues with Maya show what exactly does it mean to "become like him" - in no abstract terms. - They could both 'fail' - and then Aya will become just another Maya. In the end, DLC is about how Luca wins - and Aya becomes just as vile and repulsive as Luca was described by Maya. As was 'promised'. It is subtle writing. It is effective writing. You are given all the pieces just at the start of an actual 'battle' between Aya and Luca. But the author does not shove it down your throat. Does not chew it for you. It is genuinely better than what Laura was ever given - on a technical standpoint. And that is just one example of many. Bad: - The problem with all of the above, of course: Spoiler The promise itself is about Aya becoming 'repulsive' human being, that ruins people's lives; where everyone and everything she touches will turn to shit and gore - and she'll revel in it. The promise - technically - is incredibly well executed. It's just the end result is not really... sexy. Or beautiful. Or something to want 'more' of. I definitely don't want see more of Aya after that. The worst of it is that you have to go through the rest of the DLC with that promise in mind. Through the rest of the sex scenes. Which sours the mood. But. That's just my personal taste. What my brain treats as 'repulsive' may be not the same for you. Author is clearly love the girls that become villains. A lot of people on this thread love it too - it IS sexy for them. If you are one of them - this whole point I'm making here is a positive, not a negative. Just keep that in mind. I'm just speaking for my experiences. - There's also a more 'technical' problem with the DLC - of Aya's sex scenes being constructed exactly like Laura's: Spoiler - Luca comes up with something. - Everything goes according to his plan. No deviation, no change of plans, no resistance. - Aya just grumbles under her nose from time to time, but overall does nothing. Nothing's changes. - Repeat. That worked with Laura - because her whole character was about being 'strong' on the outside, but weak and pliable on the inside. Her character suppose to "just grumble, but ultimately do nothing". Aya's character is 'supposed' to be different. And she WAS different in the original. She was forcing Luca to change his plans DURING sex scenes. It was genuinely a sex battle between them. It should've been a sex battle here too. If not for the character's sake - then at least for variety reasons. Overall: As I said in one of my comments to the author: "You can make me care about the drug addict with good writing - but not when that drug addict is beating up his kids in every scene."
The real rating is closer to a 3.5, but I rounded it up to 4 because it’s clear the dev is genuinely trying his best. I also think people are being overly critical of him, and it feels like he takes that criticism too personally, which is honestly sad to see. As for the game itself: it’s pretty good. Above average, I’d say. I still kind of suck at rating NTR, because it often feels like I’m more of a voyeur than an active participant. I can’t really immerse myself in any of the characters, and in NSFW games or stories, that immersion is crucial. Because of that, most of the sex scenes didn’t do much for me. Some concepts are cool and fairly novel-the VR segment, for example—but beyond that, there isn’t a whole lot that stood out. Overall, it’s solid. The main issue is that the game takes a very generic and boring approach. It’s a classic NTR story-still written better than most-but all the usual elements are there: spineless loser MC, Mary Sue NTR guy, and a dumb FMC. Harry is the textbook spineless loser. The dev sometimes tries to give him more depth, but if you think about it, it’s mostly an illusion. There’s no real growth or meaningful change, and after a while, you just lose interest in him completely. The whole clans-and-yakuza premise never really landed for me. Aya’s split personality also goes nowhere interesting. It basically boils down to "I’m a slut, but with my alter ego... I’m a hyper-slut! ” - wow, how cool. Just meh. She's also clearly written as a complete dumbass, and there isn't much else to say about her. Luca has way too much of an upper hand. Magic dick, plot armor, future prediction, mind reading- the classic "Mr. NTR guy set". It’s generic and removes any tension from the story because you can predict almost everything in advance. That said, I honestly loved the “stupid” endings in the OG. The clumsy endings were really interesting and exciting, even if they were cut short. It sucks that there’s nothing like that in the DLC. The whole "hostage" ending had a ton of potential-imagine if it had actual choices, or even a simple minigame. Something as basic as answering certain questions could've led to endings with Laura, Aya, both, or the OG route - that'd be awesome. Like cut on some of the OG scenes and give me that, instead. So yeah: it's more generic and more kinetic than the original, but still better than most NTR stories out there. I think people are biased because the OG was much better, which is an unfair comparison. Taken on its own, it’s still a pretty good game.
If I didn't know better and wasn't coming here for the NTR, I would say the story is peak. on how Laura fooled Harry on her departing day, on how Aya keeps choosing and comforting Harry despite everything, and the bgm when harry was broken when he learned that he can no longer meet Laura for the last time started playing, it's the best. Goat moment. Thank you for the wonderful story. This is an incomplete review, since I haven't gone into Aya NTR route but fuk it! I'm a hardcore NTR fan! but It makes me want to root for Aya, I'm sorry Aya......
The original was an emotional journey, a great corruption story, and a hot H-game. This one is a hot H-game. If you treat it that way, you will enjoy it. The H-scenes are many leagues better than the original's. The art is mostly great and the kinks explored suit the formula better (namely the POV/out-of-view setups). The line-to-line writing style continues to be spectacular. Aya's personality makes her corruption less fun than Laura's, but her dialogue works far better post-corruption so the hotness there generally evens out. And credit where it's due, the story's intro is good. Ignoring Laura's forced nonsense that starts the route split in the first place, the short arc that establishes Aya as the main girl is very strong. Meaningful and worth reading. Otherwise, the plot and characterization are just... bleh. Aya had her IQ understandably nerfed and under that lens is still written well enough, but the ridiculous premise of the bet game and the asspull required to start the blackmail gave Luca too much power for the corruption to feel earned. The original held a constant battle of joy and despair, love and guilt - this one feels like an immediate death spiral into sadism and misery porn (hey, maybe you're into that). The admittedly good concepts around Harry's growth are ruined by the power imbalance and obvious inevitability of Aya's doom. Aya also suffers as an NTR lead in general. Her ditzy quirks feel like weird meta commentary that turn serious moments too silly, especially when the corruption becomes "the voices won" and the schizophrenia becomes a copout to break her mind for free. The fewer endings means lower variety in character exploration, so you're stuck with just a couple brands of fancy character assassination. Having no remotely good ending is of course typical to NTR, but in this case the final nail when trying to care about basically anything; every development is a deus ex machina to make Harry and Aya lose really, really fast. At least this manifests some free use tropes that are pretty hot. So, read the intro, treat it as the prologue to an imaginary amalgamated Aya Happy End, then pretend the rest is a fanfic of a character you like being reduced to a sex toy to get you off. Hop around the event gallery. Enjoy the hot blonde being put in hot situations. There's enough quality in those for me to call this a great game, even without the corruption and misery porn necessarily landing.
Let's take what players liked the most about the original game and ruin it basically. It's sad how one of the best NTR games in recent memory became just another generic "heroine falls from grace" slop with multiple artwork styles. Also what's up with the gallery using the cpu at 100%? Did they put entire scenes to play as thumbnails instead of just using gifs?
The original version is better. The art is more consistent than in the original version, where you could notice different people were commissioned different scenes, but that doesn´t make it good. Crotches just don´t look like that, and Aya´s boobs keep getting bigger and bigger with each new scene even though she was supposed to be more petite than Laura. The bet system sounds like a change of pace and a new addition compared to the rules of the previous game, but the corruption feels a lot more pronounced and easy than in the original version, one thing that it should be harder, if we compare the strong personality of Aya in the first game, and her connections to the mafia. Maybe the author got burnt out of writing the same characters for two years straight, maybe there wasn´t anything new to invent on this story that wasn´t present in some way shape or form in the original game. On a personal note, I also don´t vibe with the whole DDLG that Aya has going on in this game, and it´s not because it´s taboo, it´s because past a certain point in the story that should be kept in spoiler territory, it´s cringe.
I love the original unkept version, but this, this was disappointing. The writing is good, but not on par with the OG. I completed the original game quickly because it was so engaging! But here, I didn't feel all that engaged as before. I feel like Aya got a lot dumb down, maybe because Luca knew her weakness and stuff, but still! The art style was watered down as well! I love the art style and animation in the original one (one of the best features). Another thing was the rules system, in my opinion, I ABSOLUTELY love it! The best part of the whole VN. Made it all more interesting, but they changed to betting one. The change was so disappointing! I was honestly looking forward to see which rules Aya would have come up and how Luca would have countered her. I feel like Luca changed the game because he knew he would lose? Or maybe the writer thought it would be more interesting to add a new game? I don't know, but the old rule game from the OG would have been way better. I hope Hangover see my comment and maybe I hope they add a new route with the old rule system, old art style, writing style, and animation. Thanks for making this awesome game! I always saw Luca as the main MC! Lmfao I'm giving this a 3 star. I may change it depending on how the game goes in the future.
As an Aya fan, I hated this version. The original version of the game shows a much more realistic, strong, and genuine side of Aya; this one always felt forced and completely out of touch with the character's reality. They nerfed her a lot, turning her into an idiot with minimal reasoning ability, worse than the corrupted version of Laura.
Hi, I am brazilian. So my review can have a poor english. GAME "DROPPED" !!! ( I had to press the skip button for a long time to see if it was really what I thought) Well, first of all, this shouldn't exist. The developer could have easily included Aya's story in the original game. In other words, instead of creating a route based on her choice, no, they decided to create a game focused on the girl. And on top of that, a Kinetic Novel. Another problem I have with the game is the art style of the CGS. It gives the impression that it was drawn by different people. Just compare one art style with another and you'll see I'm right. It's just like the original game. Another thing, there's a lot of dialogue. It's tiring to read so much that it could be summarized with fewer words. I'm not giving it 1 star because I think Aya is the best female character in the story, even better than Laura. But this game could be much better, on par with the original or even better.
Great game just like the original. It feels slightly rushed because of how many other projects the author does at any one time, but other than that it's Aya focused stealing, and the plentiful scenes look and feel great.
GOAT, legendary NTR game. Its a great spin-off of the original. HangoverCat's NTR rule system implementation will become a staple for NTR games. It will be remembered as a classic of its time, it will be known as one of the best of its genre for years to come. Is it without mistakes, flaws or weaknesses? No. But perfection will always be something to strive for, not to reach. This game strives for perfection and thats the best you will get. gg
A kinetic game that we all know how it ends. The developer has the same old style, each of his products never changes the plot, the comic book graphics are the only exception, but the rest, if you play, or rather, if you watch the kinetic game, of this developer, is like watching them all, boring like in all his comics, including the ridiculous final interviews, we're copy and paste. It's not a game, but a movie.
Ofc you have to let yourself go and embrace the narrative path that this fiction needs you to go through. Once youve done this exercise you will discover a masterpiece, a world where justice is a myth, pretty much like the one we live . Enragin. Heartbreaking. Painfull and brilliant. Harries of the world, lucas of the world. Decadent bastards
I dont know what people feel is the issue here, doesnt have a reception I would expect. The game is imo better than the base one, Aya is more interesting and fun. Laura was kind of a annoying and overly cruel. The game has great scenes, its really fun looking forward to what rules the antagonist comes up with. These rules are imo one of the greatest strengths of this game, making it more interesting. Gives it a really fun spin and makes it stand out from your regular corruption that just gets old with how it progresses. Overall, the scenes are hot, the story is pretty fun and the heroine is really endearing. Great game.
So far so good, even better art than the original story (consistency). I'm not sure but Luca seems too softhearted in this side story, dev might just want to stretch the story. Aya still irritated me nonetheless. I'm not sure if common route replay ate necessary since you either comes from main story or ignore it entirely. At least it might save some game space Either way, i recommend anyone to play the main story before playing this game. It's to familiarize yourself with the story, character, world building and story style. Though this side story might be feasible for people who annoyed or want Aya route (with Luca), i hope dev won't f-ck Luca up like in main story(There's no ending yet but so far so good for now)
The graphics are ordinary, nothing outstanding. History - all games of this genre suffer from a stupid story, this game is another slag. You play as an idiot, your girlfriend is a whore who solves problems not with her head but with her ass. Well, as usual, I did it for you, not because I'm a dumb whore. The main character was asked to bring a flash drive by his old enemy, (who had humiliated him before ) Our hero doesn't even ask himself why would I do this? Why not check what's on this flash drive? But no, the idiot does everything as he is told and this is throughout the game. The choice in the game has almost no effect on anything. The whole story is aimed at dumb fucking. Let's have sex like this?Come on.
This is the best ntr game I have ever played. I actually wasn't a fan of the original A Promise Best Left Unkept because of how cliche it was. The Aya Edition, however, is surprising and creative in a way that always leaves me wanting more. Almost every sexual scene has something I've never seen before. The art is a little inconsistent, but the first game was way worse in this regard. The game is also a slow burn and is far from finished. If that bothers you, which it seems to bother a lot of you, wait until the game is done. The creator of the game also deserves a ton of credit for being so consistent with updates for their game, compared to others that I've seen.
Story-5/5 Art & Animation-5/5 This Project is not for the faint of heart. All of their game are so good,I had to hop on their pateron. Whom ever does Lauras moans .....holds a special spot in my heart, top tier acting.
