About Amakawa
Amakawa is an adult RPG by Kotobawdy, made in the Others engine, that teaches Japanese while you play. You begin as a new employee at a company that owns an island across the bay from Japan, starting without any knowledge of the language. The game uses words you learn to understand people, navigate the setting, operate old island machines through spoken commands, follow conversations, and uncover adult scenes. On day one, a coworker teaches you 見る, meaning look, through a cat video, and you can later use that word to peek at private situations. The visuals are 3D AI CG, with animated and voiced moments, and the story presents adventure, multiple protagonists, and voyeuristic themes.
The current build is version 0.1 - Day 1, released November 1, 2026, and it presents day-one content as an ongoing early release. It is available for Windows and Linux in English, with no censorship. Day one takes about twenty minutes; in Adult mode, the segment contains seven discoverable scenes, two explicit.
Developer's description
An adult RPG that happens to teach you Japanese. You start a new job at a company that owns a whole island across the bay from Japan, and you don't speak a word of Japanese. The game teaches you the words you need to understand the people around you and get around, and you use them to progress, some as commands the island's old machines only obey when you say them, others to follow what people are saying or to find the spicy content. On your first day a coworker teaches you 見る (look) over a cat video before lunch, and after work you can use it to peek at things you probably shouldn't.
