v1.00 Release
Its fine for what it is. Good presentation, 3d cutscenes and solid character design. Unofrtunatelly the "H" part of this "h-game" is its weakest aspect so i cant justify a higher rating. If you want a sci-fi VN with focus on writing then you might get more out of it.
Overall a solid VN. Tactical combat was occasionally too long for me during some of the climactic moments of the story, but there being a skip combat button meant it really wasn't a problem at all so it's definitely not worth giving this less than the five stars it deserves, especially since the combat itself was honestly very fun, I just didn't want to spend 10 minutes on a combat sequence when I was instead waiting for a story moment to pay off. I have minor quibbles with how some characters were handled, but a lot of it boils down to "I wanted to see more of this or that character" which is usually a sign that a game is doing something very right. Overall a solid VN that you shouldn't skip out on.
game is great story wise ,character wise and even soundtrack rocks hard i achieved true end and it was awesome ,unfortunately i skipped all combat so cant comment ,great game and good job dev hope for more from you
The game’s great—definitely worth a single playthrough. It also deserves praise since, you know, the dev actually completed the game, which is rare in a sea of abandoned tags and games that have been in development for 10+ years. Anyway, about the game: It is an extremely linear visual novel with some glimpses of gameplay. The artwork is pretty, but the animations are simple. Choices don’t really matter, and the battles—which are the only gameplay element—can be skipped if you just want the story/h-scenes. Honestly, I wish there were more gameplay loops, such as upgrading your base or customizing your ships instead of just acquiring more of them, and so on. At the end of the day, it is a visual novel, as I said, and that was a turn-off for me since I enjoy more game mechanics. Even so, the content is polished and doesn’t feel rushed. Could use more porn scenes, though. Also, it has the secret top-tier tag: dark-skinned, tomboy, childhood friend. EASY FIVE STARS.
Ashes of War [1.6 Complete] Among the many AVN titles, this one stands out as a VN with additional tactical gameplay interludes. The game was made with Unity but feels like reading a Ren’Py VN, including a working "skip already seen text" function. I find it difficult to rate this title. On the one hand, I don’t consider it a 5-star ("excellent") work. On the other hand, giving it 4 stars ("good") feels somewhat unfair because it delivers much more than a VN that only has a good story. In the following, I’ll give my criticism of the core elements. Tactical Gameplay — 3/5 First of all: if you don’t want to play this part, you can skip it. Well done. Second: although I really liked the complexity and mechanics of this part (it’s definitely more than just mindless clicking on hidden RNG damage values), it unfortunately still feels unfinished. The victory conditions are sometimes unclear, and some missions end before all enemy units are defeated, which robs you of the feeling of "mission accomplished". At the start of many missions you can place your units directly next to the enemy units, and with the guaranteed first strike you often win far too easily. It’s also annoying that at the beginning of the enemy turn the camera jumps away from the events instead of centering on them. Story — 5/5 The story is really the big strength of this title. You truly feel like part of the flagship Dawn of Defiance and like being the "Cap" (MC). The MC feels like part of the story, not the story itself. Side characters have their own goals and problems and interact with each other. Not all women are LIs, which prevents the MC from feeling like some unrealistic super-personality. Four LIs on the flagship and three more elsewhere are already more than enough to fill the player’s harem. The personalities are written in a humorous way, although they become a bit too similar in character toward the end. In my opinion the story could have been even longer. The ending lacks a real climax and doesn’t feel properly concluded. For example, what happens with Nemus’ brother? Also the characters Neia and Morgan, who are introduced late, could have been used for another interesting plot. A hangar mechanic introduced early in the game never appears again, even though he has a "face" unlike Miller (the infantry commander). Definitely a missed opportunity for a plot twist. Overall the narrative is good and easy to follow. Unfortunately there are some typos, grammatical mistakes, and a few places where the narrative flow feels a bit rough. Visuals and H-Scenes — 3/5 Here we get a mix of (animated) 2D CG drawings and 3D CG cinematic animations. Regular scenes basically consist of a background image with character portraits layered in the foreground. It works reasonably well, especially because SFX, and screen animations help support the depicted dynamics. Still, it obviously can’t compete with VNs that present each scene fully with rendered images. I liked the lizard and cow-people characters. They are tastefully drawn, and although I’m usually not a big fan of altered human bodies like that, they work well in context here. The H-scenes, however, were somewhat disappointing. In my opinion they’re not particularly good fap material either. They are too short, unspectacular, and don’t offer enough visual material to really stand out. I have no problem if H-scenes aren’t abundant, but if that’s the direction, the few that exist should at least be good. I also found that the smut text used in those scenes isn’t tailored to the specific LI. This becomes especially obvious in the scene with Ethan and Alice, where the text basically reads the same as in the scenes between the MC and his own LIs. Music / SFX / Overall Package — 5/5 We get many good but already familiar music tracks. SFX are used where they are needed. There’s also a gallery for those who want it. This title offers about 30± hours of good story and gameplay . Still, I have the feeling that its potential hasn’t been fully exhausted yet. It would be a real shame to stop here instead of turning it into something truly great.
Update for version 1.6 I'm a little bit torn about this game. I genuinely liked the premises and it started off with a strong bang; mature characters, actually competent MC that isn't some frivolous dipshit pussyslayer, big battles in space, big decisions to make? Oh, and a beautiful tomboy chocolate mechanic? Hell yeah, sign me the fuck up! However, there's quite a few flaws that become apparent the longer i played. I'll start with what i liked; i genuinely like the setting and there's clearly lots of efforts that was put into building a genuinely believable and solid background and lore for the game. Clearly has big inspirations from your usual big sci-fi universes; space pirates, smugglers, corpos, federations and kingdoms with big technology, ships, yadada, you get it. Then there's the characters. They're genuinely good for the most part and i like their various backgrounds and types overall. The lite turn strategy aspects are pretty cool too, if somewhat poorly balanced at some points. Then there's the massive, absolute feat that this game is actually a completed game that didn't take 8 years to get there. Kudos. The main issues i have with this game is that it's clearly much more focused on the story rather than the sex scenes, so if you're here for that, that's the wrong game for it. Nothing wrong with that of course, and the game is fairly clear about that. The problem is that quite a few of the decisions you can make in-game are ultimately pointless and don't change much of anything. There's also the fact that there is clearly no space or thoughts put into using choices more towards the mid and endgame of the story. Basically, it reels you in with the illusion of having impactful choices at the beginning, only to completely forget about it past the midpoint except for a few very unconsequentials things. Then, there are also sections where the dialogue feels overbloated . The dialogue is great, mind you. But there's just so much of it in a quite a few parts of the game that is completely kills the inertia of the story and makes it more of a chore to go through. I like the banter stuff and all, but we've been going at it for like 15 minutes, can we move on please? Then, there's sex scenes. The sex scenes themselves are good, but they are spaced so far apart that they lose their impact. Long stretches of story and dialogue pass before another one appears, to the point where the game almost stops feeling like a lewd game at all. And the sex scenes are fairly basic in buildup and overall composition, so you get: Bit of foreplay, penetration, start fucking, fuck harder, cum = okay thanks, bye. The art is also inconsistent between many of the characters and the sex scenes as well. There's different artstyles for many of the characters which makes them poorer fits between each other and kinds of bring the visual experience down a bit. Then there's a cruel lack of variety in poses and expressions for many of the characters. They don't all have that issue... Rachel (The best tomboy ever) is actually quite expressful, but she's kind of the exception. Everyone gets the exact same pose, maybe a few different facial expressions and that's about it. My boy Aidan just can't get a rest with his arm on his chest, damnit! Despite all of those flaws i'm still giving it a four stars rating because it's actually game trying something different for once, and there's clearly some excellent qualities with it that perhaps we not just a good fit for me personally, and that's fair. I can see that there's clearly some good amount of efforts that went into it. So yeah, looking forward to whatever next project they have in line, and i'm hoping that they'll make something better with the experience of this one.
Writing is good if you enjoy sci-fi narrative games. There is a combat portion that is skippable for those that enjoy, but if those that don't can easily skip. If this portion was fleshed out more, there could be a pretty cool game out this. There a few sex scenes that are animated which is a big plus, but the game feels extremely linear. It feels like your choices don't contribute to anything
I don't usually do this kinds of things but I gotta say, this has got to be the best writing for a story I have ever witnessed especially from something like a porn game. Hell I don't even think its a porn game considering the stuff is for sideshow. The writing for the story is fantastic in my eyes. The pacing as well as the content of the story is great and I love that characters other than the MC are not afraid to take their scene when its their time, but the thing that I really love about it is that the story doesn't feel rushed. You let readers take in what they are experiencing and and are not afraid to make the side characters say their piece of the situation. I have alot of good points to make but to avoid jumbling my words I'd rather make it short. This is a great read and I am looking forward to your other games if you are still making.
⭐ Fun to Play An actual space epic with real battles! ⭐ Cool Story Sexy times with open minded crew ⭐ Looks Awesome The art is interesting, at least doesn't feel like AI slop ⭐ Finished Game Absolutely, well done ⭐ Bonus Wow Gallery unlock, so you can revisit fave scenes
Honestly, my review will not be a fair one. I fuckin love this game and lowkey might have even played it without the porn aspects bc of how much i enjoyed both the writing and the gameplay. Without going into spoilers, I think the story is well written and although I would have preferred certain characters to get a bit more screen time to be fleshed out, i think it played out extremely well. The only slight gripe I have with the game is that the art can be a bit inconsistent at times but even then, that is hardly worth mentioning as none of the art ever took me out of the moment.
The Best: The story is the best mix of several franchises combined into one I've seen in a visual novel. Take the interpersonal relationships of Mass Effect and The Expanse. Fights that are cinematographic similar to Battlestar Galactica. Add the atmosphere of Mass Effect. Throw in some japanese influence, such as the famous space opera "Legend of the Galactic Heroes" in it as well for good measure and you get a very mixed bag of things that kinda not worth too well together, but on the other hand it makes up for some really well written and compelling stuff. One of the best short-form Science fiction Novels I've read for sure. The best 3d CG animation on f95 I like the choices and the result of that choices, even if inconsequential, the writing makes this sort of Visual Novel dialogue option very worthwhile experiencing as it comes off as natural, at least early on in the story. Or in other terms, in this game, choices are written to at least mean something that is memoriable for the sake of moving along the plot, apart from the general lack of consequence, which some may see as bad enough to put this into "The Good". The Good: Art is, on average, passable and sometimes even good, even including how botched it all seems. This includes character art and backgrounds. Realistic and believeable interaction with any of the main heroines Soundeffects fit and the music ranges from alright to slop or songs you've heard in many other games, but for the most part range from passable to even good. It has gameplay Dialogue is great, props to the writer. High potential to put this into "The best". For me at least, the story sometimes felt a bit too disjointed and the characters a bit too unlikeable for me to keep being fully immersed and interested. The Bad: The game itself doesn't really have failure states apart from the combat. The dialogue, which theres a lot of, seem inconsequential in comparision Hope that doesn't read like an insult, but the side characters are all better written and have a better style and quality to their art than any other graphics of the game. Who the fuck decided that this is a good idea? Guy should be fired honestly. At any case, characters start out of being mostly unlikeable, and keep being that for quite a long time. Forgetting about any of them after playing through this game is probably really common. Its just a weird aftertaste for me. The game suddenly seems to stop once it turns better. While it has gameplay, its...not as great as I felt it should be honestly. Theres balancing issues with the combat, especially early on Story stretches on way longer of what it should be, so do some of the later combat missions Some of the character designs are appealing, some seem...alright to abysmal depending on where you look at The sexy scenes seem like an afterthought A very common theme in overambigous Visual Novels, the side characters have way more to them than the dialogue implies, yet the developers choose to not do anything about that. They should be fleshed out way more, which this game intentionally ignores. The Ugly: Art drawn by multiple artists who don't care about art consistency. Main characters look cartoony and then you have very well refined anime-style characters as sidematerial. That may be just a bad thing, I put it on "ugly" because it sticks out. At least they could've tried to make it somewhat consistent. Even low budget japanese visual novels usually take greater care of that sort of problem. While the 3d scenes are excellent, the 2d Animations are laughably horrible, actually made me flaccid again. The backgrounds ranges from very pretty to look at to OH MY GOD WHAT IS THIS TORTURE Maybe the worst thing of it all, inconsistent art drawn by the same artist. Characters that seem to have bolt on tits seem to have natural tits in another scene. Average chested chracters suddenly have voloumous tits in sex scenes, etc. Dialogue often resolves a little bit too much into Hentai and Haremslop. All the characters "normalize" their behavior and stop being "best girl" The game utilizes so many ideas from many different stories and games and doesn't go through anywhere with them I think AI is awesome, the game does utilize it for the backgrounds without disclosure. And its honestly so cheaply directed it becomes obvious when that happens. Its weird because it doesn't seem like the type of direction that would utilize so many things so weirdly. So if theres a real primary flaw, then its the direction in general. With the writing being the best and the animations being the worst parts about it the game does trend to feel all over the place all the time, and that lack in direction does lead to a lowering of my score and overall enjoyment of it. Honestly, I didn't want to play this game, but I do enjoy some science fiction stories every now and then. Its common sense that F95 ratings, especially the verbose ones and the ones that rate games highly, rarely tell the reader what is bad or good about a game. Someone gives a 10/10 "It has good art" while others give the game a 4-star rating, all while listing a page of flaws that wouldn't even warrant a clear 2-star. So what the fuck is this game even about and why is it so highly scored? In short, its a fairly good space opera, with some of the very best person-to-person dialogue with huge inconsistency issues, but also one of the worst hentai CG thrown in that I've seen. The sounds are passable and I think the music is from some free music repository. The story itself also goes places. I don't want to spoil too much but it does play around with some popular ideas seen in movies like Star Wars or games like Mass Effect. I'd also wager that the plot itself draws heavily from The Expanse and Legend of the Galactic Heroes but those are just guessess. The gameplay is strategical and has some nuance to it, in later missions especially it does try to test your patience though. Its still one of the better examples of how to put in gameplay into your Hentai Visual Novel. If it now would have better Hentai in it then the game would be better as well. Speaking of the sexyness, The game offers you 4 love interests, which kinda range vastly in their characteristics while trying to somewhat don't fall into the usual tropes, at least at the beginning. In the end, it kinda devolves into them having all similarly "likeable" characteristics, and are written in a "harem" like way. So in the end, even the bestest of girls turn into your generic love interest, without any of the previously established personality. This game also suffers hard from the illness that pleague a lot of 2000s Visual Novels, inconsistent character art. The game also ends in a way as if its saying "oh well, the games over, hope you had fun LOL" and then just goes into the main menu again. If you don't like that sort of thing where the "good part" that should happen somewhat cuts off, then I really recommend you to stay the fuck away from this game. And honestly, the game itself it lacks tons of shit. The characters barely go places, albeit the story does. The side characters just exist for reasons I guess. The quality and quantity isn't up there nor is the writing really suited for this kinda thing. I'd recommend that the team focuses on narrative driven VNs, rather than adding sexy scenes to them. Or maybe taking the extra effort like making a 3d game similar to Mass Effect where you can choose the sex positions would be nice, with some actual romance thrown in, or harem depending on you're roleplay. The developers clearly know that in order to make a game, you have to put a lot of groundwork and effort into your product. And they clearly have a solid foundation here to worth with. On the other hand, the game doesn't really show that. I assume that the developers kinda stopped thinking that this game has any sort of potential and thats it. This causes the game to seem and feel incomplete in the process. If you're curious about playing this game, I'd say do it, but as I wrote really set your expectations of the porn low. Speaking of porn, theres like what, 10 or so Hentai CGs? And thats me highballing that number, and its all badly animated. Theres a lot more scenes about teasing, verbal or otherwise that are alright, but thats about it. Whats worse is that since the game is animated badly, the sex scenes do not seem to be made with jerking off in mind. They're not really hot, but the scene leading up to the sex scenes are. The art consistencies are the final nail in the coffin. One character, the engineer who wears the clothes of a scientists is also ripped like Mike Tyson on steroids in order to subvert expectations of the old trope that all scientists are chubby and can't take care of themselves. On the other hand, in one scene she seems to have huge fake tits while in another she seems very natural. Make up your goddamn mind on that. Theres a dozens similar art consistency issues with any of the characters but they show in different ways. Ranging from changing character proportions to the way they're drawn, sometimes the animation does to the characters a disservice as well. Its all not really fapable. Theres some positive aspects too. Later in the story the game does somewhat give you some resemblance of free choice, but it doesn't really take you anywhere. Its as railroaded as they come. At the end, I was feeling very frustrated rather than thinking that reading through this experience was worthwhile. At any case, keep your expectations low on this one and don't do the same mistakes as I did expecting something good out from this. I'd say skip it at all costs if you don't like modern science fiction. If you like most popular sci-fi franchises however, ignore the girls and treat the setting and story as a 2-3 star game and maybe you will be honestly suprised how well its written and designed. But I implore you to ignore most of the other baggage that the game offers though. Threating it this way ensures that this game at least becomes memoriable enough for you to consider it higher than even 3-Stars. So don't be like me and threat this game as something like a good Visual Novel that has the complete package, because it clearly isn't. So yeah, on average, this should be considered a 2-Star game. If you enjoy Science Fiction, I'd say rating this one a 3 or 4 Star seems to be a good choice. If you love Hentai but hate Science Fiction, give it a 1-Star rating and avoid it at all costs. Anyone else on the fence and indifferent about science fiction probably will experience a game that seems good on paper, but fails in almost every other regard.
Very solid all around. A well rounded game with believable narrative and good scenes. I enjoyed the combat mechanics as well. It's difficult to fit in a good story, good art, and actual game mechanics and you can see that with most of the games on this site. I also appreciate the developer's focus on actually getting out a final version of the game and not stretching too far. It is (for an AVN) a very tight experience.
Very pleaseant surprise - I've stumbled upon this game by blind chance, and it ended up as one of my favourites. Ashes of War is a good space opera with optional, decently fun turn based space battles - basically you lead a group of deserters that did not want to give up their lives in a hopeless and pointless war, so instead decided to try their luck in a remote region of space where the few military ships you get away with are a serious force. Story is mostly linear, with some small decisons here and there. As far as lewd content is concerned, this is a harem game with 4 main LI and some optional side characters. Erotic content is nice, although not always a main focus. This is a story heavy game, which to me was a plus. Characters go through they own character arcs and it's actually nice how their lives do not completely revolve around MC, who is also a decent protagonist - sometimes a little dorky, but overall competent and respected. My main critique is that it games feels like it could be much more that what it is - there are some partially unresolved story threads, and one can easily imagine much more gameplay around managing your fleet and base. Still it is a finished, complete game done by a solo dev, so I understand that there had to some limits to the scope of the game. The ending is also a little abrubt, and very open ended, which I have mixed feelings on. On one hand, I felt like I lacked closure to some degree, on the other hand characters are generally left in a good place and there are number of possible directions their lives could go - so you can imagine they picked the one that felt most appealing to you. Overall, a very fun and memorable adventure that while not perfect, fully deserves five stars in my opinion.
Not for those who aren't into a lot of reading, but the story is quite interesting and make you really believe into relationships between characters even though it's harem game. Seriously, it's the first game where I didn't had cringy feeling from characters dialog at all. Battle scenes are way too easy and not mandatory to particiate.
The story is interesting but lacks a balanced battle system. The battles ruin the story too your suppose to be better than everyone else ship wise but your ships are no better than the pirate ships. You don't move faster or more spaces Your defense is just as weak as the pirates Your weapon range is the same as the pirates Now to the art the art I would rate around a 3-4 Animation has no moans at all graphics 4/5 sound: 3/5 (mostly music and mine battles have sounds) Story: 4/5 (interesting but if you go by the battles story is shit as everyone else is just as powerful as you and the premise your a military ship so you can defend others is a joke) The battles need to fit the story properly your suppose to be BETTER than any civilian ship but outnumbered but your weapons should do way more damage than the pirates especially with them having civilian armor vs military armor but that is not the case. A battle ship like your piloting should be able to one shot a fighter but nope.. not the case. Military fighters should be able to move faster and take more shots than enemy fighter again not the case.
Update 1.5 Overall: 4/5 I came back to revisit this game after it had built up quite a large amount of content, and it truly surprised me... in a good way. I think the game is awesome and the way it tackles the little things makes the gameplay experience worth it. From the sound design to the battle system, it was done in a way to insert you into this massive world. One thing I really appreciated was the addition of new character art. Some characters didn’t have any visuals before, and finally seeing them brought to life was a highlight. I was especially curious about the marines, and they looked exactly how I imagined based on their dialogue—big win there. The writing’s also stepped up. The LI cast has gone through real growth, and the pacing makes their development feel earned. You can tell there’s emotional depth behind it. That said, my biggest criticism is the ending—it felt rushed. And that’s what kept this from being a full 5/5 for me. There was so much potential left unexplored, especially with the existing cast and the newly added visuals that hinted at deeper stories. It’s a shame, because the groundwork was there for something even more impactful.
One of the best games not just in this genre, but on whole site imo in general. Great dialogues, interesting characters (well almost all of them), very enjoyable battles (I wish there was more). Game is 10/10 There is very few things I did not like about this game, developer did amazing job!
Normally, I am not someone who enjoys VNs. They often feel too static, not interesting enough, or just a more expensive book. But this, THIS one really caught my eye. As sad as I am to say I haven't known of it since the early days, it still has been, and will be one of my favorite VN H-games out there, whether it is the battle minigames, H-scenes, or the story/writing as a whole. As a sci-fi enjoyer, this one caught my eye, though. It feels similar to games like Sunrider , while taking the setting from Mass Effect or Starsector . The art is varied in style but fantastic all around, and the (very well fleshed out) battle system is something to spice up the experience. Actual gameplay in a VN always makes you feel like you're dreaming. The actual writing itself has great intention behind it, though the English is a bit sub-par. The scenes are great, and develop naturally, rather than being a quick, unmemorable moment. AoW is a game mostly focused on the story and its' characters, including their relationship with you. Despite being mostly Kinetic, your choices have a surprising affect on scenes, allowing you to choose to have a harem, or focus on just one girl. The gallery doesn't let you access dialogue, but still lets you access non-H and H-scenes alike. You will get ~8 hours of content if you go through it at a faster pace, which is especially nice if you want to try two different routes. It needed just a little bit work to become a true gem, but unfortunately didn't have the budget nor the time to get there. It is truly and unforgettable story; must recommend.
Not that many space opera / erotic games on the site. In spite of this, this one is quite palatable and promises to get even better. As of 1.30 there are some systems that aren't working properly, some combat operations which aren't actually in game yet, resource management is spoken off but not actually in game either. Still, the story keeps you entertained, with solid characters and scarce but satisfying erotic content. Some tropey sci-fi here and there, but nothing egregious. EDIT AFTER VERSION 1.5.1 (19/01/2026) Well, now that the game is 'complete' I can give a somewhat final review. Ashes of War is a game that promises a lot but delivers just barely enough to be a complete 'experience'. Story wise, it starts strong, with a surprising amount of depth for its genre. Sadly, the game wraps up very quickly, so much so you are left wondering if this is just the first in the series. Features like the galaxy map promise exploration, the dev even bothered to add descriptions for planets and stars here, as you may see in games like Mass Effect, yet the entire system is mostly forgotten half way in and never sees much use. Resource management is talked about, yet there's virtually none. Decisions taken in this regard, like rationing water or not, dealing with a particular group or not, don't really lead to anything and are quickly forgotten. Hiring mercenary ships is completely undeveloped, which struck me as weird when you see the dev, once more, went through the effort of making a dedicated system for it. In the end, you hire whatever is available. The combat system is basic, workable, but also quite literally skippable. There's really no point in trying to do better in a fight (not taking damage or losing ships) since winning the battle in any condition will the same results. There's also a weird mechanical choice where larger ships have very limited range for their weapons when the game's lore seems to imply engagements should happen over larger distances. Graphics wise, it's a mixed bag. It's serviceable, but quality varies and quantity is in the low end. Some character sprites, specially on the latter half, look suspiciously AI made. It's not a dealbreaker for me, but it is a bit jarring. Overall, I think I stand on my 4/5 stars rating, but it's a shame the dev decided/had to cut so many corners. There's potential for a very decent game with an amazing story behind it here. I just hope the dev's next project expands on this base and delivers a more complete and rounded up experience.
If you love games like Mass Effect and Starsector, this game is perfect for you. The art is fantastic and a breath of fresh air in a sea of 3DCG EVNs. Both the male and female casts are fun and lovable and the banter is always top notch. I do have a few criticisms. First, the dialogue can come off as a bit awkward or too formal at times. Often times there's not enough contractions and the dialogue is overly verbose. Native english speakers will get what I'm saying. I'm not too worried about that since you can easily proofread and edit the dialogue. The essence of what is being said is fine. Second, the flow of the story can sometimes be confusing. There are times where the story jumps forward in time due to new updates. A casual scene can dramatically shift into an emotional one and while there is foreshadowing, it can still come off as a bit out of left field. All of these combined can lead to a somewhat disjointed and confusing reading experience. TLDR The framework and core of the story is fantastic but it can feel disorienting due to the timeskips and sub-par English. The motivations of the characters are believable and human but need more time to develop. A more gradual buildup to the emotional crashouts, more context in between time skips, and some proofreading and you've got a real gem of a game. I'd rate it a personal 4/5 but I'm giving it a 5/5 because it's criminally underrated and needs way more exposure. Also let me romance Ashley
