Bread and Embers is a medieval fantasy tactical RPG made by Shadow with the Others engine. It uses 2D animated AI CG artwork and puts you in the role of a male commander trying to defend loved people and cherished lands. The game mixes turn-based combat, character growth, personal quests, and mature romance across nine possible routes. Its story centers on war, political schemes, and choices that matter. It asks why a world deserves to be saved.
The current playable build is a v0.78 demo released on November 1, 2026, so it is not a finished version. It runs on Windows, is written in English, and is uncensored. The project presents fantasy, harem, and dating sim themes through its story and romance options.
