Collapse of a Certain Ranger is an adult adventure game by Marsa, built in HTML and presented with 3DCG visuals. You take the role of a female ranger belonging to the Counter Threat Unit, an organization created to defend the city after monsters suddenly began attacking people more than ten years ago. With military and police support, the CTU helped destroy the monsters and restore peace, but it has stayed on alert while budget cuts reduce its activity. The story leans into horror, corruption, and transformation themes.
The current release is v1.03, dated February 17, 2023, and development is ongoing rather than finished. It runs on Windows and is available in English and Japanese, with no censorship. The latest update corrected a few typos. Earlier fixes addressed missing or incorrect images, an HTML closing-tag error in an English conversation scene, an Aya event omission, profile image problems in endings, and version number issues.
Developer's description
A ranger that protects the peace of the earth. It sounds like something out of a children's TV show, but that's exactly what my organization, the Counter Threat Unit, or CTU, is. More than 10 years ago, monsters and monstrosities suddenly appeared and began to attack people. Thanks to the efforts of the hastily organized CTU and various military and police forces, the monsters and their organization were successfully exterminated. Peace returned to the city. Since then, the CTU has not been dismantled and remains on daily alert. However, due to the recent situation where almost nothing has happened, the budget has been cut and activities have been reduced. It might be pointed out that we take peace for granted.
