About Conqueror: Sparta

Conqueror: Sparta is a short adult adventure visual novel made with Ren'Py by CaptainBl00d. It presents a historical fantasy setting with computer-generated artwork. In 235 BC, Sparta is no longer the strongest state in Greece, but the rise of King Cleomenes III changes the situation. You play as a male protagonist in a small project inspired by ancient Greek history and older adult games. The gameplay centers on quiz mini-games with no failure states, so you can keep trying answers until the correct one is selected.

The 1.2 build is complete, released on August 29, 2024. It runs on Windows, Linux, Mac, and Android, in English, and is uncensored. This update adds Xenia, queen of Sparta, along with new quiz content and scenes involving her. It also introduces new animations for every character and makes minor adjustments to earlier scenes.

Developer's description

235 BC. Sparta, once the mightiest state in all of Greece, now is just a shadow of its former self. However, as king Cleomenes III ascends to the throne, things are about to change once and for all... Spoiler: So... This is a small project that was heavily inspired by history of Ancient Greece and... old MnF games (if you know, you know). The game contains quiz mini-games (but no "lose" scenarios, so you can just spam answers until you get the right one). I hope you enjoy this one! Who knows, I might return to this concept of "historical mini-games" in the future.

A fairly simple image-led, linear game, but with nice voiceovers and sufficient basic animation. There is basically no story, and questions as challenges are fairly simple. Overall the game is pleasant enough to play.
