Divine Intervention

Me suspicious af after reading these reviews on a initial release without much tags......but then I loaded it up just cuz I love HS pieces.....this shit is banger. Story is basically an army guy who goes with platoon to retrieve artifact and chaos ensues. likely some supernatural stuff now getting involved possibly Gods and shit. Such a good way to open a story. This is how you draw a crowd in and give a hook. - You show and don't just have walls for text. LIKE WHEN THEY ARE WATCHING TV, You see the colors of room change and the whole scene feels so immersive. Really good use of rendering. - MC feels genuine, and not a hormonally deranged teenage coomer. - LIs are hot. - Renders are clean af. UI is clean af. Music is banger. Action sequences are even cool. Currently v0.1.2 is at 10min gameplay tops with no h-scenes, you do see some hot elf titties, so I'm not complaining. Plus story is banger. I'm all in. Good luck dev.

If everything goes well and the developer continues updating the game, it has huge potential. The story is intriguing and already reaches high stakes even in Episode 1. The character models look great. The music is decent. There are no animations yet, but considering the quality of the renders, I expect some solid animations in Episode 2. Note: If you’re here for H-scenes, there aren’t any in Episode 1, though there are a few spicy scenes

Exceptional start. Surely short, but it looks as though it will shape up to possibly rival the top echelon of VN's. World building, render quality, and writing look to be and read as extremely high quality. I am excited to see where is goes after playing this short version that has been released.

render: animation: soundtrack: story: playtime: 8 / 10 5 / 10 7 / 10 6 / 10 ~1h that is a very promising piece of dev brain juice here, chainz had me curious for months now with his teasers. render are upper top tier stuff, the short animation is fine but cant be really rated yet - lets see what he is cooking in that regard. dialogues and scene/screen play are great and the playthrough felt just smooth. soundtrack and SFX supporting the atmosphere he's creating. about the story: elves > check, cat girls > check - nothing else matters! xD i mean, from what i see, there are power hungry elves in a ongoing war against every other race. and we mostly lost our whole char lineup at the end of that version (i hate you for that chainz :<). not hard to conclude that our MC will be safed by a divine entity, but after that no clue. i'm pretty excited for the rest of this story. fazit: excellent game state for his first release. and i just know how much effort he put into it. i'm pretty sure he will be at some time in my SSS-Ranking for story (a)VN's.

Pretty much just my comment copied over. Review as of v0.1.2 (minor spoilers) This is a nice little prologue, on the shorter side but enough to introduce you to the game. Roughly 600+ renders & 2000+ lines of code. Dev states ~1 hour of playtime but if you read fast like me expect closer to 30m. With so little out it is hard to say much but I would still recommend this game especially for fans of any of the following: HS2/urban fantasy/elves/beast girls. Graphics: Very nice for a first release (Good lighting, camera angles, etc.). Perhaps not at the very top but still in the upper tiers compared to other games. UI: Nice custom UI with good design. Currently no bio/replay functionality like other games usually have. Although this is most likely going to be added in the very near future. Only minor nitpicks (such as hard to read text/customization) that don't majorly affect the reading experience are present. Characters: 4 out of the 6 main LIs introduced so far. Not too many and not too little. Design wise pretty nicely varied and attractive. Plus points for the animal ear/hybrid girls (beastlings) and elf girls. Plus points for the spicy goth girl. MC design, while yes it's not the default HS2 male design like so many games have, it's dangerously close to that territory. I've seen similar looking MCs before and there are definitely more unique designs out there. Not really that big of an issue though. Personality wise it's of course too early to say. Although there's some nice foreshadowing going on. For example Hel gives you the vibes of someone who might mediate the whole harem situation between girls in the future. Aveline your classic shy introvert. Will she be able to come out of her shell, asserting her self worth and confidence and blossom forth as a beautiful butterfly? Only time will tell. And of course most notably the raging elf racist Serene. Very interested to see the backstory for that one and how it unfolds in the future (surely it couldn't be the elves killed my family trope?!?). Story: A low fantasy/urban fantasy setting. So far we've seen the presence of elves, beastlings, magic (healing/elemental), artifacts, and anti-magic cults. Judging by the ending and the title of the game perhaps some divine aspects as well. Interested to see how the lore develops and more worldbuilding. And as per the dev this is definitely shaping up to be a "dark, brutal world". Play it and you'll find out just exactly what I mean. Music/Sound : Personally would prefer a greater selection of soundtracks and SFX usage in the future. Some scenes feel kinda empty/repetitive. Just nitpicking/personal preference here. Already better than a lot of games. Animations: Would like to see some more. So far only one was used for a short/minor scene of a helicopter flying overhead. Although I do realize this is a big ask/commitment for devs and we haven't seen much yet. Lewds: Obviously no sex scenes yet. It's the prologue. You do get to see one character (Hel) constantly naked though. I think it's apparent that she's probably gonna be the one to have the first sex scenes. Withholding all judgement until some actual content drops. Tuck in for the long haul boys. TLDR ; Has potential. Props/support to the dev. Very polished for a first game/new dev. As stated before enjoyers of HS2/urban fantasy/elves/beast girls will surely find something to like here.
