Eternal Ward: Light's Return is a 2D fantasy RPG made by evelai in Unreal Engine. You play as a man after a costly first battle, taken by an angel to a remote village. You now talk to villagers, queens, priestesses, and other powerful figures, complete quests, and face dark creatures such as goblins, succubi, and skeleton warriors. The game blends exploration, fighting, and party recruitment, including gathering gold and hiring archers and knights to attack a demon's portal.
The current build is a demo, and development is not finished yet. The demo was released on March 22, 2026 for Windows in English and is uncensored. The latest changelog lists Demo Initial Release, so this update adds the first playable demo version.

The first battle is over, but victory came at a cost… Now, fate pulls you into a new struggle. Taken to a remote village by an angel, you must interact with different characters and complete their quests. Along the way, you’ll cross paths with queens, priestesses, and many other powerful figures, testing not just your courage, but your desires as well. But peace won’t last for long… Goblins, succubus, skeleton warriors, and other dark creatures await. Complete quests, gather gold, and recruit archers and knights to launch an assault on the demon’s portal. In the end, can you defeat him and bring true peace to the universe? Sharpen your blade, plan your strategy, and march into the darkness. Because the light will return once more!
