Let me make something clear, I'm too much of a degenerate for something like NTR to keep me from enjoying an H-Game. Especially when it has good animation/visual presentation, which is something that HoruBrain is capable of knocking out of the park if their Anomalous Coffee Machine saga is anything to go by. But as their first crack at making a story-driven visual novel? The writing is laughably bad. Bad enough that I don't think anybody here would mind spoilers. You play as Lennox, a dude happily living with his wife Horu (who I'm pretty sure is supposed to be the same Horu from Anomalous Coffee Machine ) and his little sister Alora until a mysterious viral infection plunges the world into an apocalypse. During the first days of the outbreak, his family encounters a cynical scientist named Axton, who agrees to help them all survive as thanks for saving his ass from getting mauled by a horde of fleshy abominations. Axton is a complete and utter jackass who is constantly on edge while pushing the player to commit coldblooded actions for the sake of their mutual survival. Actions that the player is effectively railroaded into as showing any ounce of mercy or empathy is basically the quickest way to hit a Game Over screen. You also meet a nurse named Seira who joins your party, but she basically has no personality outside of having a one-sided crush on Lennox. Eventually your party finds out that Alora is infected. Axton predictably demands that you ice the poor girl right then and there while Horu is practically on her knees begging that you show Alora mercy. Lennox either abandons or mercy kills his sister, to Horu's complete horror and frustration. To escape another horde, the party starts squatting in a abandoned mansion as their latest sanctuary. Now I want you to keep this in mind: Horu just saw Axton effectively push her husband into snuffing out her beloved sister-in-law . She even screams how much she hates Axton out of a mix of anger and pure anguish over the situation, no matter how justified and logical their actions might be. But literally on the same night this tragedy goes down, Lennox walks in on Axton plapping Horu's cheeks . There is virtually no lead up to this. There is no hints at there being a mutual attraction between these two. No acts of seduction or coercion on Axton's part. No explanation given as to what could drive this woman to cheat on her spouse. And Lennox effectively decides to just roll with it . He even ends up genuinely befriending Axton after this while Horu gives the protag an apology blowjob in a desperate scramble to get back into her husband's good graces...only to then continue fucking Axton on the down low. After a bunch of random encounters while scavaging supplies and avoiding the infected, the story ends with Axton developing a miracle vaccine for the flesh virus and Horu finally deciding to leave Lennox for Axton. The only choice the player gets is deciding whether or not the break up is amicable (if its not, Horu and Axton simply abandon Lennox while he's sleeping). Regardless of the outcome, Lennox hooks up with Seira afterwards as a glorified consolation prize, but since she has no H-scenes, this basically means jackshit. When it comes to porn plots, I always keep my expectations low. After all, you gotta suspend some of your disbelief when it comes to this sort of smut. But HoruBrain makes such a hard swerve with this weird NTR narrative that it turns what should've been a slamdunk erotic horror story into a Tommy Wiseau level disasterpiece. And since the offical Steam release only has 4 H-Scenes (2 for Lennox, 2 for Axton, all animated involving Horu) the porn is basically just as much of an afterthought as the writing. Unless you're that starved for seeing more NSFW content of Horu or morbidly curious over how bad the story is, I'd say skip this entry and stick with the Anomalous Coffee Machine duology. I sincerly hope HoruBrain isn't discouraged by the backlash (the game is sitting at a "Mostly Negative" rating on Steam at the time of this review) and continues creating H-Games while taking the criticisms to heart. I love their art style and would hate to see them throw in the towel over one creative fumble.

points for the art and i even kinda like the new take on the zombie plague but the demo alone just forces a series of horrible events on you and quickly punish you for non sociopathic decisions the writing is pretty stiff in english and everyone has very basic personalities if i want hopelessness beat into my skull i have twitter but i dropped that like a hot rock too
