Hard Choice is a visual novel about returning home after years away and trying to start over. Back in your hometown, you reconnect with people from your past and meet new ones, while your brother’s problems slowly begin to become your own. Every woman you meet has her own personality, past, and secrets waiting to be discovered. Each one has something to reveal. Your choices shape the relationships you build with the women around you, changing how they see you and how close they let you get.

a kinetic experience disguised with a whole lot of choices with below average looking love interests, stilted dialogue, and a serviceable story. I say this a lot in my reviews, but if you play how you're supposed to play, make the 'right' choices, it can be a ..decent experience. The big thing for me seeing this game is "Hard Choice". The gimmick of the game is to figure out what LI likes and answer your choices accordingly. (hint, if they lower their eyebrows, bad, raise them or smile? good!) And the game makes a big deal about choices in this game. As someone who LOVES choices, I thought "Damn, this will be great." The first update was rough but intriguing. The 2nd update however, Spoiler I made the mistake of seeing just what would happen if I tried to make all the 'wrong' or unfriendly choices. Imagine my surprise when almost nothing changed except for not having more intimate experiences with the LIs. That's it. The moment where I realized this was a kinetic story was a 'date' with Olga. You can basically be an asshole, and she still forces you to go to a club after the date and ends up sleeping in your bed. The latest update has similar scenes. The LIs who you can have been an asshole to the entire game, and have 0 love points suddenly start stripping down and ask you what you think of your new roommates (them). I answered "it could be worse". Well, the game doesn't like that 'hard choice' apparently, so one LI says to the other, "he's lying, he really likes us" and the game carries on as if I do indeed like them (I don't.) It's a bit frustrating because you end up thinking "why am I even allowed to make choices?" It's a quiz game with right and wrong answers. LIs: personalities range from stuck up at first to the classic flirty time, to military friend type. You've seen them before. They're all...not completely ugly, but definitely nothing special Story: nothing special here. Slice of life turns into a crime drama. Some might enjoy this, I did at first, but it quickly went downhill when I made the mistake of seeing behind the curtain. That ruined it for me. I'll consider myself lucky to get off at this station. Poor experience overall.
