About Lungs of the Earth
Lungs of the Earth is an adult visual novel made by Asphyxia Dynamics in Ren'Py. You play Akuma, an oni and optional-name leader of a three-person crew, alongside Sayuri, a bipolar elf mage, and Yuka, a human psychopath with obsessive tendencies. The crew accepts missions to track beasts, monsters, miners, and similar targets for payment. The setting is a post-apocalyptic fantasy world where industrial and technological progress stalled for 100,000 years because a rapidly growing forest overwhelms infrastructure unless it is maintained daily. You choose combat approaches and rewards during episodic adventures, with 2D AI-generated CG art.
The current build is Episode 1, released August 23, 2023, and development remains ongoing. It runs on Windows and Linux in English and is uncensored. The game blends a dystopian setting with horror and humiliation themes.

You play the oni Akuma (name can be changed) the leader of a trio crew. Akuma specializes with katanas and brute strength, the other members are Sayuri the bipolar elf mage and Yuka the yandere human psychopath. The "Heroes" in this Visual Novel go out on quests to hunt beasts, monsters, miners, and everything in between to get paid. The game is set in a post apocalyptic world where a Fantasy world has gone through the industrial and technological era previously but has come to a stop in progress for 100,000 years due to the Forest growing at such an incredible rate it brings all infrastructure to a halt without daily maintenance. You choose how you fight and what rewards you take as you go out in episodic adventures.
