About Mad World

Mad World is a non-linear adult visual novel from Smoke Mob Games, built in Ren'Py with animated 3D CG art and a dating-sim style of choices. You play a man who, after a terrible mistake, gains power from someone claiming to be a god. That power leads into a harsh world of violence and injustice, yet also hope and goodwill, including the underworld of Magical Relics. As you meet new people, your choices shape your mental state and the relationships around you, blending fantasy, humor, and emotional connection.

The current build is Release 4.1.0 WIP, dated October 31, 2023, so development is ongoing. It runs on Windows and Linux, is in English, and is uncensored. The latest update added the first bonus chapter, with 696 renders and six new animations available in the extras menu if certain conditions are met. It also introduced new parallax code, a major interface refresh, early performance improvements for mobile play, a larger image cache, 45 new renders for ongoing reworks, and a bonus-chapter narrative perspective option.

Developer's description

Mad World is a non-linear tale of humanity, love, survival, and insanity - often indistinguishable from each other. Meet new people, get to know their hopes and dreams, and acquire new fears as you get entangled in their complicated lives and form deep emotional connections. After making a terrible mistake that will shape your life forever, what are you willing to do to survive? Spoiler: Synopsis. By chance, in a bar at night, you meet a strange man who claims to be a god. The power he gives you opens the door to a world riddled with violence and injustice but also hope and goodwill. With new enemies, new friends, and a new life, each choice will define your mental state and the relationships of those around you forever. The underworld of Magical Relics call.
