Metastasis
About Metastasis
Metastasis is a Ren'Py visual novel by SplattermindStudio, using 2D CG and AI CG art with animated presentation. You play as Alex Kane, a default-named middle-aged man who learns he has two inoperable brain tumors. Rather than ending quickly, the tumors gradually influence his consciousness, distorting reality and stirring dark, controlling impulses. Through hallucinations where the tumors speak as separate entities, he struggles to keep his humanity while his illness spreads through his family, turning loved ones into victims, accomplices, and mirrors of his collapse. The story explores horror, corruption, and male domination.
The current build is v0.2.2, released on September 18, 2026. The changelog describes it as the initial release, so this is not a finished version. It runs on Windows and Linux, offers English and Russian text, and is uncensored. Installation is simple: extract the files and run the game.
Developer's description
Short description of the game: Alex Kane (a default name) — an ordinary middle-aged man — discovers he has two inoperable brain tumors. Instead of a quick death, they begin to slowly but inexorably take over his consciousness, distorting his perception of reality and awakening his darkest impulses: a craving for absolute control, sadism, sexual violence, and a desire to destroy everything he once loved. Spoiler Through hallucinations in which the tumors speak to him as distinct entities, Alex wages a desperate battle for the remnants of his humanity, all while watching his illness metastasize through his own family, turning his loved ones into victims, accomplices, and reflections of his own disintegration. Ultimately, this is a story not so much about brain cancer as it is about the razor-thin line between the "self" and the monster that has always quietly lived within, waiting only for a reason to break free.
