Moon Shard is a Ren'Py adult visual novel by KimchiDev, using animated 2D CG art. It follows two parallel stories about strangers who wake up unhappy with their lives and choose to act. The player follows a male protagonist rejecting a wrong career and seeking work that suits him, and Eva, a 23-year-old trying to build a normal life after past mistakes. Choices decide who characters love, who they leave, and whether risks are worth happiness. Themes include fantasy and cheating.
The current build is version 0.7.3, released on March 7, 2025, for Windows, Linux, and Mac in English with no censorship. Development is ongoing. The latest update adds important events and makes the first relationship possible, changing scenes with the chosen character. New content includes Abigail with variations, Lina, Akasha, Liam, and an Eva and Eileen scene, plus bug fixes. Earlier updates expanded storylines and added gallery, interface, and hidden mechanics.

One morning, two strangers in two different beds woke up so dissatisfied with their lives that not even laziness could keep them from doing something about it. The two stories run in parallel, constantly touching each other. You will have to decide the fate of the characters:

Stranger Number One - MC.
The boy has decided not to accept the wrong career and is ready to take matters into his own hands. Now he is "free from the shackles of the system" (as he said himself), but his mother is not going to pat him on the back and give him money. It seems that all is not so rosy, and now he has to find a job that he likes and that will bring him a profit.
Stranger number two - Eva
. Although she's a bit older, at 23 she's decided to start a normal life and put her rebellious mistakes behind her. She had loved ones in the past that she had to let go of, maybe she should look at some of them differently now.

It focuses on a complete overhaul of the game's story. All mystical details have been removed from the story. What remains are the fantasy characters. They don't have superpowers, but they do have special characteristics: tieflings are less susceptible to fire, elves live longer, etc.
Gameplay changes:

"Love scores" with characters can now be viewed in the character menu, and in the future a gallery of scenes will be placed there as well.
