In this story-driven adventure, you play as the Protagonist, a high school student trapped in the surreal Dream World, where reality is distorted. Struggling with amnesia and distrust of even close friends, the Protagonist must save Rise Kujikawa, whose soul is being corrupted by an evil force. Alright, I’m a big Persona fan and was excited when I first saw this. It had me highly interested, and here are my thoughts. The opening scenes establishing the plot had me interested, and I was enjoying it. It had a cool mystery to it that I wanted to figure out, but as the game went on, the pacing kind of ruined it for me. There isn’t a lot of build-up. Things just happen shortly after each other, and there isn’t a lot of in-depth storytelling in between big plot points that push the story forward. You interact with random characters each day, and sex scenes just happen for you without any development or big choice. I’m not even sure what the relationship levels are even for. You’re legit banging chicks at level 1. I know it has to do with game endings and such, but it would be nice if it did something deeper gameplay and story-wise. The game has great music in it and UI. The sex scenes are hot, so it gives it some stars even if the pacing related to them is off. But if you’re a Persona fan and want to scratch the itch to fulfill some of your fantasies, then it’s worth trying out. It has cool concepts about it, but falls short with pacing issues, in my opinion.

Played this after playing the actual game. Very much scratched the itch of hanging out with the cast again. Faithful to the source material, a very good fan game. There is a wide variety of girls from popular anime with a scene or two. Which doesn't help that the actual main cast don't get much focus. There's even an extra LI which kinda just self inserts herself. The game itself however was pretty bland. Things just happen, and any 'building' relationships don't really matter since you can bang anyone almost immediately.

High effort fan-parody. High-effort recreation of theming atmosphere and visuals. KK models if you're into that or not. Relatively nice mix of intrigue. Mostly true to the characters, though I wish there was a Naoto route where the Kanji stuff was optional. Especially since I always assumed he was in the closet. 4.5/5 Could use some more indicators for when they are events for socoial links available once the day-to-day stuff starts taking over. EDIT: "It was all a dream" + no 'where are they now' epilogue + sequel hook true ending does drop it down to a 4/5. But overall a very worthwhile experience oozing with love for the original.

Overall great fairly lenghty parody with good writing, actual story (that will continue in next p5 project), good scenes, even wet sounds are neat and mechanics don't overstay their welcome. Overall there is very little i can fault about it and if you like Persona 4, absolutely go for it. Don't think it will have that much value for people unfamiliar with it, but for fans it's a treat. Three things however i didn't like and they are enough to not give it 5. First of all, the most important part, this is all a dream. So nothing you did mattered and in real world none of that happened. Maybe it won't bother some people, but i care about consequences within game worlds, and entire game pretty much not happening for everyone except Yu is... frankly shit. Really really really didn't like that part. Second is, there is no development or buildup with characters in a sense that everyone just already bang whenever they want. For example despite that you can have Yukiko, Chie and Naoto all at rank 1, you still gonna bang them regularly in the story itself. So it's less of a slow burn 18+ twist on the sory and more of a fuckfest. Probably won't be an issue for most people but i prefer to work up to the scenes and not just get them for no reason. Third is the stupid fanservice. There is a bunch of optional scenes with random characters from random games, manga and anime. Scenes aren't even that bad, there is geniune effort in all of them, but like... i'm not here for them? For me at least instead of adding they just subtracted. If any of the things above is an issue, you might enjoy it less, but it's still very high quality, very faithful and geniunely fun experience. Do try it out.

May be the best parody game I've played thus far. Great writing that stays faithful to the original game while adding adult elements and pretty funny lines. A lot of effort was put in to making this game also feel like the game it's parodying, the ui especially, as well as it's mechanics, while still playing similar to other visual novels we're used to with a somewhat linear storyline. I really like that it doesn't feel too limiting, you have free control of when you want to advance the day/story forwards so you can take your time and enjoy all the extra content and progress with characters you want to interact with and it's clear what you have to do to do it without any guides. My only complaint about it is the artstyle, I do see how the creator was trying to emulate the original style and models of the persona games, but some models especially early ones do look very choppy and plain, that overall distracted from the enjoyment of the sex scenes for me personally. But overall I say the quality is decent with a good amount of content.

The story is simple but interesting enough. * Decent dialogues. * The game has music, sound effects and voice acting. * Poor performance — the game lags all the time. ... regarding its erotic side: * Character design is good. The designs are obviously not original but the 3d models are nice and hot. * The scenes are great. A good variety of scenes with a lot of girls, some of them with kinks like clothed, public, sneaky etc. * Simple animations. * It has music, sound effects and moans. * It has Gallery mode. The game uses a lot of original content like lore, characters, music, menu styles as a good parody game. It has also good original content like the lewd scenes or the videogames. I recommend the game to any Persona fan but be cautious, the game performs poorly. It's sad because I would rate the game higher if this were solved.

Actually quite impressive. Dude ripped ingame assets for the presentation and then combined it with solid koikatsu models and a solid VN format with light progression elements. Animations are choppy at transitions but the final ones are solid and there is no traditional auto-play. Good project.

4.5/5 I'm blown away by the fact that this was made by ONE GUY! It's a fantastic game from the animations, to the setting to the UI design! The sex scenes are well-made with erotic sound effects, although some of it look like the female characters have a vagina in a different spot than normal. The writing can also be odd, shifting from dialogue that belongs in the real game to the MC becoming your average harem protagonist. The fact that he's so keen on having sex when he is confirmed to have a relationship with someone is also strange, but I'm willing to chalk that up to lack of inhibitions in a dream. He has also added both English and Japanese dubs to the characters, although it switches back to English on occasion. The ending could have used a sex scene or two with the title character, but it other than that, it ends just as you'd imagine a Persona game would and sets up the sequel nicely. Overall, it has some minor issues but I am astounded by how well it came out given it's by a single person. I look forward to the sequel and hope that, maybe, we'll also get a Persona 3 game by Golden Goose.

Rise Gaiden is what you get when a dev wholesale steals an IP to make a lewd game but has zero plan or vision as to what to actually do with it. The game looks good. It’s Persona, of course it does. It stole the music, the characters, the menus, the time management gameplay, and social links. This game is fundamentally Persona minus the battles. I get that parody is a thing and all, but isn’t this a bit much? I’m shocked this one didn’t get a cease and desist given the patreon. The main story is adequate. It took a handful of big swings and there were some decent scenes, but it wasn’t quite enough by itself to justify the time spent on the game. There needed to be other draws to the game, and it’s everywhere else that it really falters. The time management system is, ironically, a waste of time. In the Persona series, there’s too much to do. It’s deliberate. The only way you can max your stats and see all the social links in a single play through is with new game plus. On your first play through, you never feel like you have enough time to accomplish all you want. When you combine it with the dungeon delving aspect of the game, it creates a system where you’re constantly thinking about what you need to do next to get the most bang for your buck out of your limited action economy. It’s great. This game? Social links don’t require actions and are gated largely by game progress. Skill leveling is based almost entirely on dialogue choices. If you generate the most possible points from dialogue, read all the books (no action required), and play all the games (also no action required) you should have the vast majority of the skill points you need for all the scenes. There’s no struggle to see all the content, just waiting. The game pulled all the tension and optimizing out of the system and all that’s left is filler. The entire time management system in this game could have just been a kinetic VN. If your goal was to let us see all the content on one play through, don't give us the illusion that we might miss some. It’s just terrible design wrapped in Persona packaging. It doesn’t help that the social links are pretty awful too. They take all the amazing Persona characters and subject them to meaningless filler or lewdness. There’s no character growth or exploration, just tedium. The boys confront the same problems they had in the series (which they apparently didn’t solve the first time?) while the girls are lewded with little to no thought for their character or personality. We’re lewd gaming, so couldn’t we have forced them to confront or discover one of their kinks or something? Yukiko could be both dismayed and aroused by the way the onsen visitors look at her. Chie could be having tomboy issues, where no boys have the balls to approach her. The number of crazy problems Naoto could be having are just about endless depending on how you want to swing it. There were so many options, and they were all just left on the table. There’s also one too many layers of menus. Social links can only be completed after a certain day within the game, but you have to pull up two different menus in two different game layers in order to check dates vs start social links. Why the game didn’t just grey out inactive social links or only show the ones you can activate baffles me. Well, no it doesn’t. That would have been extra work. Make the player do it, duh. The art and animations are decent enough. If you like the sample images, you’ll like the ones you find in game. It would have really helped if the animations had an “animation in progress” message somewhere on the image so I wouldn’t click to continue and miss an auto-progressing animation. I had to roll back and/or wait through a lot of animations due to this issue. Also, basically all the dancing animations were cringe as hell and too damn common through one portion of the game. Also, what the hell was with all the cameos? Between VR waifu and the random students there has to be over a dozen different girls from as many different series traipsing through the game. It just felt odd to have so many lewd cameos throughout what is very distinctly a Persona game. It’s just more filler packed into a game already overflowing with it. Overall, this is Persona if you hack out its soul and leave just the shell. This game removed everything that made Persona the incredible series it is and then used the rotting corpse like a puppet for lewds. If you’re down for necrophilia, give this one a shot.

Played this for a few hours on Android and I have to say, this is a fantastic product. You can tell how much the developer understands Persona by just looking at the UI and how the game is laid out. Instead of being a yet another plain renpy AVN but with a Persona skin, this manages to be easily one of the best renpy titles up there with very little bloat and a focus on good scenes. The writing is also good, though understand that there is a lot of hentai/porn logic at play here. But you're playing a parody porn game, so that is par for the course. What is important is that the developer has a solid grasp on the individual cogs that make up a character, and they pull it off well. 5/5. I can't wait to see how this develops. I might even subscribe to the Patreon because it's that enjoyable.

This game is nothing short of impressive. You can tell the dev has put a lot of time in to making this look and feel like a Persona game. With the attribute system, the activities you choose from between each time of day change. The amount of content already in what's available here. And of course why we're all here, the bonk material is great. Animations are well done (I'll be it not perfect as you can see come collision issues) and have lots of variation to match your particular flavor. My Recommendations to the Dev: Some of the daily tasks before time of day changes can in a way take away from the story or flow. There were times when I had to hit next day multiple times in a row and it felt like it was over spacing the game out. Do with that as you will though. My other rec is the patch you have available. Some of the info is conflicting and it isn't easy to get to. Maybe consider attaching the patch here like other games have done. And you have images showing the game version showing patched for older updates. But current doesn't have (Patched) or P so hard to tell if I even did it right till the right scene came up. Good God is this fucking shit! Dream or real life? Bad writing. Poor story? Wierd as fuck characters. Come on dude. Half the male characters appear to be obvious queers and their scripts sure come across the same way. This every bit of content os blocked in some way or another is just absolutely assanine. Go to the free roam where everything you click has no function whatsoever. Ummm? WTF did you take me there for? We won't even mention the fact that the game makes it very obvious that paying players get perks. Hint.... cheat option in the initial menu. Nah I hate bloated pieces of trash writing like this. Huge pass for me. And yes I quit early because it doesn't take much exposure to shit to know I don't like the smell.

By far one of the best ren py games i ever play, u can cleary see the dev talent and passion of this project, the characters, the menus(simply perfect), the music, the animations, the backgrounds, the details,, etc.... Even the side storys(activities) got a lot of care. My only concern was the fact of the game becoming too ambitious. But so far the updates have been consistent, and the content amzing. For the story part, so far its been great and quite thruthfull to the scource material, really feels like ur playing persona. Cant give enough credit for this project, and by the looks of it..... Its reaching "masterpiece" status.

I'm about 40 minutes in now, but my GOD this is amazing. The presentation is top fucking notch. UI Animation and writing that rivals P4 itself, with pretty good character models and a lot of charm to it. If this keeps up, it might just become the greatest of its kind. I mean, FFS, the only real complaint I have so far is that the text uses regular dashes instead of em dashes (- vs —). I have to get that petty to find a fault.
