VERSION: v0.2.9 Ch.1 SUMMARY: Decent start, , potential and intrigue. Little weird too... RATINGS: (out of 5): Models: 4 Animations: 3 General Visuals: 4 Characters: 4 Story: 4 Writing: 3 Pacing: 3 Content (amount): 4 UI & Sounds: 4 Lewd & Kinks: NA Average: 32 of 45 possible points giving a 71% rating i.e. 3-4 stars. PROS: Visually looks pretty nice Models are good looking and MC doesn't look bad at all either. Writing and structure are good and read easily. Dialogue is not overly inflated or long and completely pointless, there seems to be a decent balance. Characters and story are simplistic (so far), there obviously will be some complexity but as of yet its mostly unknown, which does add an air of intrigue. Decent amount of content, for an initial release Music and sounds are decent, scenes that require it have some more emotional music from what I noticed, nice touch. CONS: Some reference issues with MC name reverting to "Guy" in some dialogue. Even though the MC is a former military man and obviously older than probably 24, he still does not have scruff or the manly features I prefer from most of the male MCs. Story gets a little weird for me with random people and encounters, not necessarily bad, but a bit jarring and sometimes I feel its too much, detracts from the MC. The point system is not fleshed out enough, the player does not have access to the points and does not really know what they even do. FINAL THOUGHTS: Story has a wholesomeness to it which I have enjoyed from most of the Lockheart games. Some weird characters and personalities never really do it for me. They come across and fake, unreal, overbearing extremely annoying and they detract from the more natural parts and characters of the game. The female MC (if she even is an MC), her personality seems to change very quickly from a homeless person to someone with not a care in the world e.g., taking picture randomly of her housemate naked in the shower. Not sure what world this would be OK and yet this scared little girl decides to randomly just do that?! She clearly has not regard for personal space and also the flip in personality is very unsettling IMO. This VN goes off the rails very quickly IMO, typical from this developer thats sometimes a tad annoying. It starts all wholesome and sweet but quickly spirals into some sci-fi (but not sci-fi) genre that really doesn't fit IMO. I often find with this devs games they try very hard to do something different, often its so radical that it puts me off the characters that I initially had a positive feeling over, even the story in general. There is also an unhealthy obsessiveness with the female "MC" with the male "MC" even as far as putting herself last in terms of being a love interest to him, she also has a habit of involving herself and overstepping. Not sure if this is part of her character due the player choices, either way, this change in character while mentioned even in the game by other NPCs doesn't change the fact that the female "MC" seems psychologically unwell. While this in some way makes the game potentially interesting it also is a little unnerving, unsettling or flat or disturbing (to me ofc). There may be and probably is more to this game and "Bee" who is referred to as Quean, which could be what the dev is driving, how though is anyone's guess. I will probably still play it, but I am not loving it sadly.

Now that's what I call a good start. A relatively short but meaningful introduction and presentation of the two main characters so far. Bee is drawn as cute, whether dirty or clean, and her thoughts on the situation also seem to be the right ones and underline the events. Unfortunately, it is not yet clear in which direction the game will develop. The tags so far do not reveal much about future plans. So it could be a love story, but it could also be a complete game of corruption. I would be happy if Bee could now ride a wave of happiness for a while before the dark sides of the city come to light again. I am inclined to give some advance praise and a full 5 stars.
