Utter Waste of Time – Boring and Pointless! I gave Rubicon ISS a shot, expecting some engaging adult sci-fi, but it’s a total letdown. The story is a mess—completely illogical, with plot holes everywhere and no coherent narrative. It drags on forever with boring dialogue that goes nowhere, making the whole thing feel like a chore to get through. Characters are shallow stereotypes without any development or appeal. Even the adult scenes fall flat: they’re uninspired, repetitive, and awkwardly handled, adding zero excitement or value. Graphics are mediocre at best, with uninspiring visuals that don’t enhance the experience. Save your time for something actually worthwhile—this isn’t it. Rating: 1/5 stars – Barely even that.

VERSION: Ep.1 v0.1.7 SUMMARY: Interesting, but feels like it wants to be more than it is. RATINGS: (out of 5): ⭐⭐⭐ NOTE: The following categories and scoring method are my own criteria and may require more context. Additionally , scoring is based on the state, and what is in the current version and not what may or may not be introduced at a later point. Character (Model) Visuals......... : ⭐⭐⭐ General (World) Visuals........... : ⭐⭐⭐⭐ ⭐ Animation Quality................. : ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Character Personality(Persona).... : ⭐⭐⭐ Story & Dialogue .................. : ⭐⭐⭐ Writing & Grammar................. : ⭐⭐⭐⭐ UX/UI, Game Type & Mechanics.......: ⭐⭐ Playtime & Pacing ..................: ⭐⭐⭐ Music & Sounds .....................: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Adult Content & Fetishes.......... : ⭐⭐⭐ Average: 32 of 50 possible points giving a 68% rating i.e. 3 stars. PROS: - See my opinions section for details. Fairly decent looking models and respective renders are high quality. NOTE: This really only applies to bodies and some of the faces, see CONS and Comments. World/scene renders and visuals are pretty decent and good quality. Cinematics are good, but due to content they don't feels or seem that amazing. Writing and dialogue is fairly decent, structured and reads well. Technically impressive, including the dialogue showing a strong degree of research and realism which is great to see. CONS: - See my opinions section for details. Faces/heads leave much to be desired, this applies mostly to the MC who (apart from being old), often has badly aligned, depth, lighting and generally the face and head dont seem to fit well on the body or scene. See comments Lack of UI settings, like opacity for dialogue box but mostly for lack of mini menu to enable auto play etc. Established relationships, background and characters familiarity with the environment, "world" and each other make it feel very clinical and the MC is also seems stoic and unemotional. Per above comment, the dialogue while understandable has no chemistry or feel human. Interactions are often just lines thrown around in response but they read more like they have no passion or emotion, its retorts, jabs, quibs and a whole lot of back and forth bullshit. Some renders are messy and it shows, like Kara's hair not having structure and just seems to exist around her head, parts floating in front of her face clearly show. Per remark on renders, many of the scenes are very dark which obscures too much. Why the dev did this makes little sense as light should be on all the time everywhere save for night when the crew sleeps. Audio seems good, ambient sounds are done well. Though I do wonder why it sounds like car engine or washing machine all the time, space is quiet, there will only be some buzzing or sounds from electronics and other things...this sound is constant and eventually becomes pretty annoying. OPINIONS, SUGGESTIONS & FINAL REMARKS : NOTE: The following remarks are my personal opinions and thoughts, which may provide more context and could be useful to the developer. (Read them or don't) When it comes to the MCs face, the face and head looks like its simply stuck on the body. You easily see this when he is in the white uniform. The lines dont match nicely, the head texture is blurry and often the front of the face seem more in focus than the back but it looks fake. The hair also looks in one picture sleeked back and in another like its hanging forward. The head itself looks like a real persons face, taken, did some texture work to it and then superimposed it on a constructed body. Most of the other characters actually look better than the MC in this regard. The setting and tone this AVN goes for feels authentic for a realtively realistic sci-fi fantasy, yet I am immediately annoyed by the MC having a dick that can act as a baton, it doesn't fit the tone and setting of the AVN. While this is suppose to fit the plot/scene it feels too forced and deliberate right off the bat for the AVN to start. Same with other details like the fact that he comes out of cryo stasis and isn't even offered a gown, surely any space fairing civilization would have thought of putting the clothes or some artical of clothing in a locker next to each cryo bay? This is further compounded by the fact that the MC is walking around like a flagbearer with his constant erection that none are phased about but the player... these types of details I notice and its annoying. Same with the fact that Minevera is so much larger in height and width than the baton holding MC and that in scenes the lighting feels like the two characters were dropped on the canvas and do not feel part of the same frame. Not to nitpick, but the cinematics are kinda lack luster, they mostly short repeats of the same scene with text that changes, nothing really showing anything that matters in any sense of the word and would have made no difference leaving the cinematic out or not. Added to above comment, I feel this AVN wants to be more than what it is, like its suppose to be all epic and grand, awe inspiring, but sadly its not, its decent, but it feels like it overestimates itself on every level. The ideas are fine enough but the execution and eventual product are not to the caliber of the intention. I may be wrong and hopefully I am, but future development will tell. Clearly a very alien and weird "world" compared to what we know, the way the female crew "service" the MC (commander) like its more than their duty is a foreign concept and goes against many of our norms today. This in itself isn't bad, simply a bit jarring to understand the dynamic that is going on here. I think people will have a hard time to relate to this AVN, which means it needs to do well on every other level, which I don't think it does...yet I find myself interested enough in the weird plot to keep reading. TLDR: Not really that impressive, too many details that don't mesh up, this is and will be I believe an issue in future titles, that with the realism and tools available to developers to make more realistic AVNs that end up feeling fake and uncanny. Will check back and re-review in the future, its impressive in some ways, almost feels more like watching a show than playing an AVN, which in itself is praise worthy.

Review for Ep.1 v0.1.7 A very strange experience so far, kind of for the wrong reasons. Yes, visually this game is very stunning for an AVN. I read the dev uses blender for renders and it really shows in the quality. Few adult games look as good as this one. Cutscenes are pretty neat too, good sound design, girls look hot, etc etc the game LOOKS great. I'm not sure I've ever played a visual novel where the dialogue feels so... sterile is maybe the word for it. The game feels almost devoid of any emotion. It starts with the MC. Not a huge fan of the design but that's not my point. It's more his personality, or the lack of it. I'm not sure he ever says more than like seven words at a time. When he does, it is completely deadpan. You never hear his thoughts. Never learn anything about him. Don't really see what he gets up to when he's not focused on the mission. Nothing. He doesn't really do anything but command and occasionally do some out of place flirting such as "you look nice." Apply this to the rest of the crew. They clearly have some established history and have worked together for a long time. But like the MC, we don't really learn anything about them. We just watch all the characters carry out this important space mission. There's a small amount of "crew" scenes where they all hang out and it ends as quickly as it starts. The writing is kind of weird too. First it tries to set up a rather serious, almost militaristic, "the mission is of upmost importance" vibe. Everyone is more or less focused on that and only that, which sure makes some sense. But then we throw in some complete porn writing: the MC has some condition from cyrosleep that makes his cock painfully big and hard so all the women on the ship help him out with it. It doesn't mesh well with the rest of the plot, more so acts as a crutch for early sex scenes that just feel random. Ignoring the dream scenes because I never like them, there are two actual sex scenes. One was rendered so dark I just couldn't see half of it. The second was better, and rendered pretty well, but given how monotone all the dialogue has been it just feels weird. Lacks any real feeling of intimacy. Characters allude to things in the past as they have worked together, but it's never expanded upon to the player. A lot of the writing talks as if you know a lot of these events/terms when you never learn about any of it. There's a lot of off screen sex too which feels weird for a lewd game. Another gripe is that the game feels overly-cinematic. Every single scene shows all these cinematic shots from different angles with closeups and such and after a point it feels a little exhausting. It also betrays the tone of the game when we are watching the climax of the mission but the game has to jump to some boob shots as it progresses. Almost feels like the carrot on the stick where the game is like "hey look boobs now keep following along." Sometimes less is more. The game currently ends on an interesting twist for the story, but then I asked myself if I really cared about any of it. The answer is truthfully: not really. It's cool in concept, but I'm not invested in any of the characters and the plot is moving so quickly that it feels like everything is just happening without building up to it. I'm kinda ragging on this, but I do want to like it. I'm into sci-fi and the dev has a lot of talent on the visual side of things, but the writing is not there for me. Hoping it picks up as the game develops.

Excellent first release. Great looking renders. Fun trivia: This is rendered in Blender using models exported from daz. So it is going to look different than the usual daz/iray renders. I think, overall, that it's a good improvement. Audio is mood-setting ambience, which is a nice change. Not sold on magic-penis-syndrome but according to the story it's supposed to be temporary. Looking forward to seeing how this develops.
