About SAO
SAO is a Windows adventure RPG made by ProjectSAO in RPG Maker, presented as a 2D game with 2D and 3D CG. You play a male protagonist in a near-future setting, one of a limited number of people able to enter a newly launched full-dive online game. The story treats the game as a mysterious competition backed by a large sponsor, with winners receiving a large cash prize and almost no public information before release. Combat and progression use strategy and turn-based battles, while the tone leans on parody and adult themes such as female domination.
The current build is v0.2.2, released on December 23, 2023, and development is ongoing. It is English and uncensored. The latest update adds a skip option for the early grind section of Chapter 2 by talking to a sign, and gives stuck players an escape from the Fiona Loop event via a fairy outside Fiona’s room. It also adds three scenes or choices that lead to Chapter 1 content, overhauls existing material, and retcons parts of the story.

The story takes place in a near future. Our protagonist is one of the lucky few, who were able to log in into a brand new online game that launched this day. It's one of many other games using the recently developt full-dive technology. The full-dive technology allows the player to fully emerge into a virtual world. There are nearly no boundaries regarding this technology - even the flow of time can be altered and because of this, it quickly became popular in society as a whole... The hype around this particular game was gigantic in certain communitys, since no one knew what it is about. The rather unknown developers published no trailers or any kind of ingame footage at all. The only information that has been leaked is that this is a competitive game in which the winner(s) will receive a huge sum of money and the number of participants is limited. This information could be considered true, because the developers were sponsored by a large company. So thousands and thousands of people tried to log in at release day, but only a few, including you, were lucky enough...
