v0.13.3
Research
Research is now a critical aspect of growing your empire. There are two parallel research trees:
Technology research is done by slaves on your station, in collaboration with researchers across your empire. This unlocks new technologies like ships, drugs, and high-tech decor.
Social change is driven by the Ministry of Thought. Growing acceptance for your social direction unlocks edicts, entertainments, and more efficient lifestyles for your people.
New Structures
There are now over a hundred main structures, not including artifacts or decorations. The vast majority are entirely new or heavily modified from the ones that existed before.
New assignments for sex training, porn production, racing, lethal and nonlethal combat, research, and public humiliation.
I won't list them all, but the screenshots show a few.
Story
Several new events and chains, some in the main quest, some attached to research, and some just because.
Events that imply a vast empire have been tweaked to only appear later in the game.
Events appear more often in general.
Added option for "Stop asking me about nicknames."

Added "rename" action (There are a few options for naming conventions, with varying degrees of cruelty).
The rules assistant can now set hairstyles (either a specific one, or random among the ones you choose).
You can now import rules from other saves in the load game menu (This won't work on old saves, but if you have an old rule set you want to keep, you can load the game and re-save it to make it work).
New feature: Custom Tags
You can now add freeform tags to anyone (either in the inspection screen or the rules assistant), and use them in rule conditions. This allows you to, for example:
Create a rule that releases those marked "indenture" after a year on the station, then tag minor criminals with it on the inspection screen.
Automatically tag people who came to your station as innocents and treat them differently, regardless of how they've changed since.
Track history, so you can see at a glance where someone has been, and automatically act on it.

Added columns for all stats, and "days owned" so you can sort by recent.
All assignment drop-downs now show how many are currently assigned, and how many posts are available.
Added a button to flag selected as "processed."

v0.11.4
New public build with some fixes to implants
v0.11.3
Growth Vats:
Growth vats rapidly age people born on your station to adulthood. You can turn them on and off in the Policies window, as well as set the training focus of the simulated life.
Chaotic allows the vat to do strange experiments (like simulating a life in a fantasy universe where magic works), but is unlikely to produce instant devotion.
Orderly produces regimented devotion when the mind is suited to it, but just as often veers off into mindbreak or insanity.
You can now access a family tree on the inspection screen.
Concubines:
Concubines can now be moved to the general population, and treated like anyone else (when their training is complete). This includes everything from regular assignments to pregnancy. You can also move most of them back to their old posts through the inspection screen, if you change your mind.
Rules Assistant:
Added new actions to free, kill, or favorite.

You can now apply contraceptives without the surgery center.
Removed strange camera motion when using the panels on the inspection screen.

Pregnancy:
Characters can now get pregnant, if they have sex without a sterilization implant (or have a factory implant).
Infants born can do one of two things, configurable in the policies menu:
You can instantly sell them for a tidy profit.
Or make them citizens, which costs a small amount of money, but does nothing else for now.
This can be set separately for your offspring.
Added new implants to adjust the parameters, ranging from sterilization to the broodmother implant.
You can abort pregnancies in the surgery center or rules assistant (and you can disable this whole feature with a rule that aborts all pregnancies all the time).
The rules assistant can now filter by pregnancy.
There's a fun little "ding" sound when you impregnate someone in a dialog or event.
Colonies List:
You can now manage your holdings properly. I was putting this off because it was annoying to wire, but it's done now.
The new colonies list allows you to manage colonies in bulk, with the same filtering/selection setup as the slave list.
You can apply civilian and military upgrades easily in bulk through there.
It will also show you how many tributes each colony will send you.
Tribute Rework:
Your colonies (and more modest holdings, like Sleepy Pines) will automatically send tributes to your station.
You can combine that with the rules assistant to create vast fully-automated training setups.
The Holdings list has a field to set the maximum population.
If you have more than that many slaves already, you won't miss out. It will just sell them automatically.
Balance Changes:
Most playstyles have gotten significant adjustments, almost all of them buffs. That includes:
The Dairy now makes serious money when fully stocked.
Same for the arcade.
The bar, casino, and nightclub also make useful money now.
Stat training now happens faster, and has more of an impact on value (both in the market and in the brothel).
Buffed taxes, and made them scale more reasonably with population and prosperity.
Most buildings are more expensive, but pay for themselves.

You can now see a full breakdown of value on the inspection screen.
Made drop-downs taller so you don't have to scroll them.
A new round of optimizations, particularly when there are a lot of people around.
Slightly brightened everything.
Body parts now have friendly names in the surgery center.
Added a new cutscene when you conquer your first system.
The starting system no longer has planets, taxes, or tributes. Just your station (new games only).
Palace breeding assignment is now separate from the palace decoration assignment.
Bug fixes:
Events no longer have bad framerates when there is a lot going on in your station.
Rules in the rules assistant that modify outfits now save/load correctly.
Rules assistant summary now shows when a rule removes clothing items.
Several bug fixes around solar system stats (they now update correctly with upgrades, and have an appropriate impact on tax revenue)
Removed request to transfer to nonexistent porn studio.
Conquering the galaxy before triggering the "Ascension" event now shows the priest images correctly.
Surgery center no longer shows body types that are incompatible with the character's stats.
Added direction indicator to cage and sybian horse.

Alpha v0.6
Galaxy Map:
The Galaxy map is now fully operational, with a tutorial and everything. You can conquer the galaxy by building and dragging ships from star to star. I'm not going to list all of the changes that needed to happen for that here (there was a lot of rewriting and saying not-nice things about my past self).

A few other minor bug fixes across the game.

Alpha 0.1
First Release
review as of (stationmaster 2 v0.13.3 public) its getting interesting, still too buggy, but if it keeps evolving i might consider buying the full game. that said this tech demo isa good improvement, the research menu makes it a bit more interesting, and the planetary map feels fun, would be more interesting though if the other factions attached when at war. as said the research menu makes the game feel a bit more interesting, since there is a reason to go through the lower tier buildings, but still needs some work. also its a bit buggi, i replayed the demo a few times to test out some different things, and sometimes the researched items dont apear in the build menu.. stopping the progress. the game also still needs heavy optimization, quickly becomming laggy with many buildings even with a 3090. i also doo feel like compared to the first game, the star map and research are improvements, but the female customization, station building and decorations have gotten a downgrade. the big open rooms just make the station become a warehouse for buildings, and not a designed spacestation with seperate zones and hallways but i enjoy the concept, and feel its evolving in an interesting direction
This is a mix of Stellaris and Football Manager. It is a shame that there are so few games like this: most of what you find are RenPy projects with only text and pictures, lacking real gameplay mechanics, management systems, strategy, and meaningful player choice.
Bottom line, Its pretty good! (As of v0.12.4) I put about 4 hours into the game before I hit the end of content wall, and am eagerly looking forward to the next update. Even in this unfinished state I love the world building, love the management mechanics, and am glad to see this game runs well even with 2000+ people moving around the station all at once. There really is not much of a story as of yet, but seeing as the framework to tell that story is all there its just a matter of adding the content to bulk up the game. The elephant in the room is the AI Artwork. During the "side quests" its definitely looking dated compared to some of the new AI image generation, but as a placeholder I would say its passable. As for the slave interactions and animations, I would say as an early build its totally viable. With some combinations of clothing and hair the character ends up looking a little uncanny. But I have to admit, the implementation is novel and surprisingly effective. Totally get how that may not be everybody cup of tea, but with the tech improving so quickly, I'm confident later versions of the game will have the art dialed in better. Overall a very promising start to what will eventually be an impressive sequel the the first Stationmaster.
Game is similar to the older stationmaster and free cities. The idea is great, you can take over planets and build an empire on pure debauchery. Unfortunately there are quirks: * As soon as you start expanding your base, the game becomes painfully slow and in the end unplayable * There is a lack of explanation and information on how at what to do to progress * Would be nice to be able to skip dialogue * Rules are quirky, doesn't always apply, and would be nice with more advanced rules * Something is broken with poor and rich * Missing disclaimer in the beginning that this public build has limitations and what they are Definitely potential to get much better.
Man what the heck is this crap? First of all, the game doesn't even have an options menu at all so you can reduce the resolution and put it in windowed mode. This is like the bare minimum and the game runs on Unity so how the hell did the author not have this feature? Second of all, the game is 3D but the actual sex is some of the worst AI CG slop i have ever seen. I dont play 3D games just to have the sex be AI CG. I thought the AI CG would just be the awful advertisements that fill the whole station. Nope! Clearly it's also the sex itself. The UI is also pretty unappealing. There really is nothing redeemable about this game other than the big scope of having lots of slaves and placing various structures in your own space station and all that. But if the whole experience is just a total mess, I don't want to play this.
This review was written during v0.12.4 I really enjoy this game. The developer is active on this site and genuinely welcomes feedback and discussion, which makes the experience even better. Breakdown of My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Concept – I’m a big fan of management games, and this one hits the mark. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Mechanics – Some aspects can be tricky to navigate or build, and setting up rules that work as intended takes a bit of trial and error. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Story/Gameplay – Engaging and well-paced. I’ve played through multiple times making different choices just to see how things unfold. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Graphics/Cutscenes – Visually impressive with strong presentation. ⭐⭐⭐½ H-Content – Currently limited to one sexual position, though it’s well-executed with a wide range of facial expressions, body types, races, and ages. I assume more variety is planned in future updates. This is a public version, and as a supporter I can say it gives a solid taste of what the game has to offer. The demo lets you conquer up to 10 planets before kicking you back to the menu, but you can continue playing with up to 9 planets indefinitely. Supporters can conquer all planets, defeat and capture rival rulers, and add them to your list of concubines. As your empire grows, you unlock new technologies and buildings to expand further. There’s real replay value in making different decisions and seeing how they affect the outcome. I’m excited to see where this game goes—it has the potential to be something truly great.
The AI generated content isn't bad. The mechanics are decently engaging, and overall it's come a long way from where it started. Genuinely, I think it's worth giving a shot these days. I'm not the biggest fan of the AI stuff, granted, I kind would prefer they used models but for what it is it isn't bad!
Fun game that drives back towards games akin to Free Cities and Stationmaster but with a larger 3D and almost city-building aspect to it beyond a bit of text and cluttered facilities. Still in the early phases but looks promising as it develops.
The game is so split in it's direction it stops being erotic and is just 4 games wearing a trenchcoat. It's heavily inspired by 'free cities', then you have a tycoon game, and a 4x game tacked onto it. That alone is too much. Add on the jarring AI paperdolls... whitch are hard to cursomise and look in some places horrific you end up with a mess of a game. The dev just needs to focus on one or two of his ideas and make them work, before tacking on anything else.
The general concept is great. I think the focus of the dev should be the normal slave animations quantity instead of adding new characters and modifying already existing structures- the concept of the animations is also great- I imagine effective and time saving. I think the potential of the game is underrated and I hope it goes in the right direction.
UPDATED FOR 13.3 unplayable now due to resource consumption. just starting it up redlines my cpu and uses more RAM than all my open chrome windows combined. that's without starting the game, mind you. just opening the exe does this. I don't see anything in the 12.4 OR 13.3 changelog to address this, so not even trying again for now. UPDATED FOR 0.8.2 better. you can now defeat 3 of the (at least 7) faction leaders. of course, unlike SM1 you can't really do much with them after capture other than scripted encounters. the girls with the new AI gen are all the same look (tho you can alter skin colors and such), but the author did say he's not done with it. and you can now at least have missionary sex with your slaves. no pregnancy yet tho, and no indication the incubators will ever exist in SM2. if true, might be nice to state that in dev notes or something. the pics with the offending misshapen digits are still present. the lab is still mostly useless. also, the memory issue is still present once you control a decent amount of the galaxy map... which is far more difficult to read and navigate than in SM1, possibly because of how many more individual worlds exist on it. and I'm really missing the scrolled out you can see who controls what by color view, since clicking on each world to see which worlds to attack can be both painfully tedious and sometimes mistake-prone. interestingly, I noticed now it's not just memory getting nailed - CPU takes a big hit as well (not compared to how much CPU is available, mind you, but compared to how much anything else uses). more fun to play than the previous version - by a lot. still not as fun to play as SM1, and after conquering the 3 factions everything just becomes waiting for more content. wish I could rate Alpha 0.7.3 Public at a 3.5, but given what's still missing a 3 will have to do. the game is definitely coming along. but it's still very incomplete. there is now a working (once you figure out how) galaxy map. cool. you can even capture one of the faction leaders now. well... you can wipe their faction out. you can only capture her if you're a patron - otherwise she's paywalled. but... there is still only one sexual interaction (no positions - just yes sex or no sex), and it doesn't do anything in terms of stats yet. so you can interact in that way, but all you're doing is seeing the (same) animation to no other effect. not sure why, but the slaves assigned to the master suite and decoration don't seem to show up there for me - ever - like the ones in the dairy and brothel do. forgot to explicitly check the club, but don't remember ever seeing any in passing there either. there are a few extra options after installing some of the lab equipment, but not everything you install allows you to do anything with it (such as you can open a dairy, but I have yet to find any lactation hormones or DNA changing stuff no matter that I had every piece of equipment installed in the lab). and there's no incubators in this game at present... not sure if that's intentional. the AI now used for a majority of the event art... is AI art at its worst. meaning more than an appropriate number of malformed digits on hand and feet... and one of the pics shows misshapen legs as well. and while there's a fix implemented for the memory leak... it doesn't do much once you defeat the impertinent faction leader bitch. after that my game started doing the... oh, you wanted me to do something when you clicked on that button or space? tough. well... maybe if you wait a couple minutes. and no, that's not a system limitation on my side. it was fine until then, and looking at task manager I can see that it used about 5G RAM while my 18 open Chrome windows used around half of that. all in all a vast improvement over the previous version, but still not really a playable game yet. hopefully in the next release or two. I still enjoy playing SM1, and continue to hope that SM2 will one day be as or more enjoyable.
Considering this could be thought of as stationmaster 2.6, you'd think there's more to it. Did you know that pausing time stupidly stops many things like changes in funds, and locking the camera allowing only for rotation, making the very concept fairly pointless.... I have never encountered that in a game... never, pausing time shouldn't be that idiotically literal, that's what pause menus are for. A tutorial that's unskippable, buggy, and maddening. Just skip it for now, come back in a few years when it might get somewhere, that's my plan.
Alpha 0.6 Honestly for now, the game feels worse than the first one It has memory issues, Crashing at the start, Prolonged gameplay lead to memory leak The first one was great, i love the gameplay, i love the sex, tho a lot of things just bad, this one makes it worse Hopefully it get better
No volume control. Auto-full screen. Both of those are big negatives for me. We'll see about the rest. Not really clear what to do from the start. I'll pick my way through it and see how it goes. Could be a great game, could be terrible. Time will tell.
