Talking Simulator 2000 is a game with some nice graphics and drain scenes. The best you can do is search for a full save and skip the rest of the game. In one dungeon you nearly get every area a 5 minute skipping cutscene (a really skip buttom dont exist so prepare to press a key reaaaaallllly long.) Then there are some froggerlike minigames which are total annoying and you cant save your progress. After defeating the duchess i gave up. This game is not worth anything. Every enemy has one drain scene. Which is also reaaaalllly long and not animated or variated. Generell you need to have much patience.
I want to preface everything and start by saying that this review comes from someone who's been following this game closely since 2021 (wow 5 years I'm a complete loser). If you're brand new or have never played before, your perspective on the game's current state will likely differ a lot from mine. This game is bad. Genuinely have no idea how people enjoy this or are rating it anything above 3 stars. Maybe it's just nostalgia as this game has been in development for ~7 years now, or new players who are just now finding it and have years of content to explore, but it simply doesn't stand the test of time and has aged absurdly poorly. For starters, as someone in these reviews previously mentioned, there is NO native skip button. I cannot understand how this is possible for a game that's 7 years old. Enjoy spamming your spacebar I guess. To add to this, every encounter is the exact same and not a single scene is animated in the big year of 2026 (except in the terrible "gallery room" if you can even call it that). While we're on that note, this game still after 7 years doesn't have a functioning gallery. I cannot emphasize how bizarre of a development hole this is. There are plenty of other issues, from the gameplay to the lore, but I am not going to get into all of them here. I do not want this review to turn into a book, and honestly this developer and this game are not worth the time I've already spent writing this. The biggest problem this game has is the developer. Zion, Olympus, or whatever this guy goes by, is quite literally siphoning money off of people in real time. No idea how this guy still has people supporting this game. My main qualm with this developer is exactly this: the fact that he somehow still keeps his Patreon subscriptions up and available in good faith as if he is contributing anything of worth there. I mean, just look at the development logs. It takes this guy upwards of HALF A YEAR to update the game, and the real kicker here is that these updates don't even contain that much content! If anyone here reading this review has actually tinkered with RPG Maker, you'd know that this is a genuinely impressive feat. An 11 year old could probably make a fully functioning RPG Maker game in 2 weeks, let alone release consistent updates. All in all, this game sucks. Terrible pacing, long and drawn out dialogue, no skip button, copy-paste encounters, negative iq combat, pointless spamming of common enemies on each route, negative iq gear system, and to top it off a terrible lead dev. The ONLY redeeming quality of this game is the art, but it's been 7 years now and I don't think that the developer can get this through his thick skull.
I have a lot of thoughts about this game. I haven't done one of these in a while, but it's me, super duper correct never wrong h-game connosieur here. Again. Okay, let's talk. Story What a strong premise, this game's prologue might be a little bland, but it does have a lot of good ideas and setup. It makes it clear that this isn't going to be one of those games like SHRIFT and MGQ and 90% of these enemies are going to be unapologetic murderers. Great. I love those games, but it's nice to see some blunt reality too. When you get past the prologue, the first chapter.. also does great. The game is continuing slow worldbuilding by showing each of the four new hunters on their grand quest across the world. Letting you get sneaks of what's going on while you continue your own fight, each Succubus continues to reinforce the nature of this simply cruel narrative. But after the first chapter, those cut-ins to your other teammates continue... for the entire game. And they add more things to cut to. Worldbuilding is fine, a story is fine, but this is a game, not a show or a movie, the purpose of a game is to be an active participant. For the half of the game, it feels like bigger things are happening everywhere but where you are. You see all of this political depth, and narrative mystery, but none of it is ever involving you. Not to mention that all of the other three heroes come to minimal narrative conclusions that arent even actual conclusions. There's no true payoff to most of these cut-ins, with the exception of Deimos I think that was fine. Then there's the other realm plot, which starts in Chapter Three I believe. This was fine at the start, but it just turned into a glorified excuse to throw in an extra sex scene every room transition... I get it, porn game, but still. Also in general, having to get taken away from your gameplay between every single room of each major area is just.. a slog. I understand the next game, if it ever comes out, is intended to be a direct sequel, so a lot of these storylines are going to intersect in that game, and that was the intention. But this IS a game, it is a single experience that should start and end to some self-contained degree, but not even your main plot ends. It hits you with a literal To Be Continued before booting you back to the main menu. Sorry, I'll rant more later. Gameplay You'll begin to see a theme of really good ideas that slowly fall apart, Covenant's Chapters are built on a simple gameplay loop, go through each area, defeat Succubus, go through next room, get fish and meat to boost stats, pick up runes to boost stats, defeat Succubus, rinse and repeat. This loop is fine, for the first chapter. But the fishing and hunting systems promise so much more, instead of traditional grinding, it sounds like the perfect way to reward exploration. Especially the rare meat and fish that give you +1 to Attacking Stats permanently! Then (almost) all of those rares are just right before the final Succubus of each chapter...? Of course, I can see why. Since this game made it's exploration stupidly tedious. By the time I reached Chapter 4 I just wanted to speedrun the rest of the game. I was tired of fighting the exact same basic enemy in each area of the entire game.(Demon Spiders getting a pass I guess). Enemies which would keep getting name changes only to have the exact same amount of health...? Okay, sure, why not. Lets talk about the Succubus fights, each one is technically a 'Boss' but only the final boss of each area gets a music track that is different from the GENERIC ENEMY THEME, which isn't even that bad, though its start is so weak it feels like im not fighting at all. There's so little tension that every fight feels like it was built to be an inconvenience, not to mention that instead of traditional levelling that at least allowed a little free-formness, this game uses meat and fish to simulate more rewarding stats which dont matter since each fight basically has a baseline of what's available to you. There are no additional areas to explore to get extra stats than what the game expects. And even then, the game expects too little. The game starts hard, but once you get into Chapter 3 or so, every single Succubus is kind of a joke. To make matters worse, they give you skills for beating them as you go, set progression that vastly overpowers the stats, because eventually you're given the tools to just stunlock and overbuff every fight! The ONLY exception to this entire thing really feels like Rafflesia herself, because she was the only fight it took genuinely more than one try to beat. This game's combat feels like a slog made to make the scenes feel earned, but I dont give a fuck about scenes so it just feels like a slog. Each normal encounter feels like a waste of time, each succubus encounter feels slightly less like a waste of time. And then the side dungeons, as if to make matters worse. These are meant to be the extra boosts you can get optionally to make fights easier in each chapter. But they feel so miniscule until randomly each one is giving you the ultimate rune for every stat? So if you decided to start ignoring them because the stats were small you'd be fucked, but even then those small stat boosts are good because the fights feel undertuned until they randomly decide not to be(whatever the gas girl final boss fromchapter 3 was called, Parafosni? Fosini? I dont rember and Rafflesia) Scenes..? Me, talking about porn? I'm not, this is really about art direction. I get the narrative reasoning behind why most of them are like this, but really, it feels like an excuse to makenearly every succubus have the exact same body type and appearance. As if the artist couldn't do differentstyles. BUT THATS NOT TRUE, because there are a few great cases of them doing something different, Spider, Disgusted to an Extent, that Imp Mmesgoria or something, Summer, all cool! All different! So why is the other batch just the exact same physique? I know the artist changed between chapters.. three and four? I think. Which by the way, while I'm not one to be biased to actualartstyle, Rafflesia looks better in the new artstyle dont hate me. Its one thing to have one artstyle, not every game is Monster Girl Quest, but even SHRIFT had constantly unique stuff going on. Of course, those are monmusu games, similar, but not succubus games. Fortunately, there are games like that too, Cycle of Corruption, Succubus Academia and its predecessor Quest, they all pull this off just fine while sticking to one artstyle. 62studio games do stick to one design for almost everything and one artstyle, similar to this game, but they arent trying to be incredible, they're just porn games with simple stories! Not that I playthem, ever, so if you think they're cracked give me one you guys think I'd like I guess.. and the non-succubus designs in the game are all great and varied, even genericnpc ones! what the fuck? okay, okay, let me get back on topic. Final Thoughts I want to like this game, it clearly had ambition, it was clearly trying to be more than just a h-game, it had thought and care put into it. I can also clearly tell the Developer was burned out, Olympus Zion, I believe? But by the end, the game really did feel like, it was just an h-game, especially the last two chapters. It lost the identity it had for itself in my eyes, but I really do think this developer has so much potential. They tried unique things in the rpgm sphere, they tried telling a story across a massive world, I really, really hope Zion continues making games. Because I genuinely believe they could create a game with a story that rivals ones I hold really high in my mind. I wanted to give this a three out of five, but against my better judgement, I gave it a four. Because I did enjoy myself, and I did like this world, and it's story, and I hope the next Covenant Game, delves deeper, involves us more. And if it's not a covenant game next, I hope Zion can still be ambitious, I have high hopes. Gallery Comment Okay I wasn't even going to use the gallery but like the Remnants thing was so fun and I was so depressed when I finished Chapter 3 and I couldnt talk to a Rhea Remnant(or anything from chapter three) and was even more depressed when beating the game didnt also add everybody else to the gallery, I get their scenes are apparently animated in there and that got difficult but again idgaf about scenes I just wanted to talk to the remnants for the cute stuff like Spider giving me a recipe for good food and Leafhair just being sad.. that was good shit. At least implementing it all without the animations temporarily would've been a better call, but I digress. Anyways random thing that I've never done before but my top five gals in the game amongst the actual Succubi(sorry love interests you all sucked(except Iole)) are 1. Spider 2. Rhea 3. Rafflesia 4. Disgusted 5. Black Rose Honorable mention to Argeia and the Captured Succubus okay maybe I'll finally review Mumasekai now, I did beat it a while ago im just lazy af
Really want to rate it higher, but a game that's been out for 6-7 years still doesn't have a proper gallery, cannot natively auto advance text (even during sex scenes)? Even ignoring basics like this that other games have, the game is quite grindy for the rewards you get. The art is nice, no doubt, but every scene has the same style girl, in 1-2 poses, still framed, and they all behave in the same way (fight or fuck & die--the second option they'll always promise not to drain you to death but *gasp* every single one of them is lying!?!?!). Even the RPG/item system feels lazy. Armor slots? Rune +1, +2, +3, +4, etc. The only thing you are rewarded for is the story, which, I will admit was good (the parts I saw while I could convince myself to keep playing) and is the only thing that bumped this from a 1 to a 2 star game. There's potential here, but considering the age, I don't see it getting properly polished. I'd pass on this one.
This game is unplayable i landed at the beach with some weird hut in it people inside provide like no help So i leave to the map to some stupid tribe tribe told me they will do nothing and to kill demon queen so i load myself into ruins where i just walk to shrines after i get both shrines i collect a thing and i go next i got 2 dungeons cleared, but now i face 1 that summon unkillable big ogree i have 0 active quests i experienced 0 lewds losing is game over kick to menu... Summary: fuck this game, one of the worst and most directionless i played
Amazing game, really sucks you into the story even if you don't care about it. Combat is also very enjoyable, and "losing" can be really tempting. Definitely worth a try, especially with the great art!
Excelent, history and gradual lust, variety of characters and a good rpg with elements of combat skills and a good difficult. Its a mix of rpg and lewd game, top female visuals and progression of history.
I find this game to be one of the good ones as an RPGM with an actual attempt to make a good game with an actual story. It made Succubuses an actual threat and a reminder that they are evil. I also like how the plot shows the supporting characters' other stories and their struggles. It's good to see that this game has actual lore and world-building that differs from other games. I just wish we could have conquered the Succubus once we one, like a mark of sort,s but hey, that's the "Dream-world" (Gallary) is for. Hope to see more of this game and that it updates soon with new chapters not just the side project.
A product of ambition and hubris, the author bit off too much and did little to nothing when it comes to integrating lore into gameplay (the main 'questline' is too detached from the other cutscenes and is barely impacted by them). The grind is incredibly annoying and too obviously just a mindless fluff that can be removed without any negative impact. the biggest proof of it probably are the SC Chronicles, where Zion just gave up on storytelling and level progression, putting all succubi in a secluded 'garden'. The art is mostly enjoyable, but the writing of the scenes went downhill, at start, there was nuance, differences to the succubi, but same as their names (going from the likes of 'Dritta' to 'Polite Succubus'), the scenes went downhill.
A bunch of hot guys slaying THOTTY seductive demon girls that target men for sustenance? I am so there and boy oh boy was it quite the journey. Of course some features in this game aren’t available since it's still a work in progress but I still enjoyed it overall. There was so much character development not only for the main character but also for the side characters too. It was so intriguing that I couldn’t stop reading. Most of the characters were very likable and the ending you get is based on the choices you make. This game is pretty long (mostly because of the long H-scenes that aren’t very important to the main story) but well worth it! Looking forward to the developers releasing a sequel to this game, if that’s possible…
Excelent, history and gradual lust, variety of characters and a good rpg with elements of combat skills and a good difficult. Its a mix of rpg and lewd game, top female visuals and progression of history.
The game takes a long time to release an update, but I love its art and themes. The design of the succubus is surprising, and not many games have breast expansion. Its story captivates me, and being connected to other games by its creator makes me curious about others games.
Gameplay is terrible and boring. Many useless animations boring lore that I don't really care about cause I feel like that it means nothing at the end of the game. So many useless things and the only thing carrying this game is the original art at the first 2 chapters. Also the god damn art is so inconsistent. It's terrible going from gorgeous looking character with detailed looks then to bland and cheap cartoon looking character.
In my honest opinion, Succubus Covenant is one of those games that I love coming back to year after year. It's a shame that Kain is out (first artist), but the addition of a lot of noteworthy artists is great. Story is good too, even tho I prefer the older story elements.
I was hyped at the beginning, but I can't support this game or the author anymore. The game is becoming a money grab with a lot of unjustified delays. The story is hollow, nothing changes much. The gameplay consists of fighting succubus A (using Iron Will + attack + attack...) -> Cutscene -> succubus B -> cutscene -> Succubus C... The only other monsters besides succubi are the devil plants (and they are just here to artificially extend the playing time and waste your time)
Pros: Worldbuilding and characterizations feels on point. Plot seems well planned and is interesting to follow. Art is appealing, succubus cast with various different designs. Cons: Its telling that if the combat were to be removed from the game this would instantly be a superior game, combat is tedious and random encounters with slow unskippable animations have no meaningful progression, its one thing when a game has ungodly grind, this takes it to a whole new level of introducing pure time wasters to pad out the gameplay into a infinite slogfest. Lack of a fully functional gallery. Large winding maps with very little intractable but key equipment scattered through the pathways, forcing more padding to slog through. Original artist that did the appealing art seem to have been replaced(?) in the later chapters. Constantly having saving being disabled further taking away your ability to play the game at your own pace.
This game... It was one of the best one's years ago, I played up until chapter 3 at the time, (I'm currently playing as I write this review, so it might change later)... First of all, this isn't your run of the mill porn game, no, for better or worse, it possesses a deep lore, trying it's best to be rich in story... Something that can put you off a lot, because the game takes it's plot first, and porn as a secondary thing... The game contains a bit of VA, not a lot, good soundtrack, and takes itself steady and at its own pace... It's grindy, it might frustrate you, and you will need to at times switch between going full story mode (fighting against succubi) and at others going to the general map and to the ruins (Elven ruins increase your Magical attack, Demonic ruins increase your attack damage, Sumer ruin gives you a bit of luck and a some good resistances against status effects, Angelic ruins 25 HP points and a few skills, and Dwarven ruins magical defense and a Magical nullificator to silence enemies) I recommend you to do as many ruins as you can before having to go to a different place, I started to make the ruins when I had a +9 sword of Avalon, which made it very grindy... Something that can really put you off, is how much the game takes itself seriously as I mentioned before, it takes itself as a plot heavy game first, and a porn game secondary, if you really just want a quick one from the start, skip the intro, skip the name selection, and go straight to the first enemy, there you can choose to submit (easy porn scene) or to fight... Against every enemy, there's 2 sides, submitting at the beginning, or once you win they "attempt to seduce you" up to you what you want... First Edit: At chapter 3, after having Elven ruins at tier 3, sumer ruins completed, 2 demonic ruins done, and so on (Basically getting very strong) I must say that there isn't much of a challenge, and the amount of cinematics and things happening around our MC but without a direct importance to us, make the game really tedious, like, really, I throw a rock to pass the river, but I have 2 minutes of cinematics each time I enter a new place... The succubi enemies don't really last if you've done your homework (visited the ruins), something to change this would be to spice up the battles since they get repetitive and tedious fairly early once Chapter 2 is finished. Something else to notice, at the choices of chapter 3 (you'll know what I'm talking about) go for the God of Gifts, if you do the fighting, against the succubus, you permanently lose 25 HP... Second edit: At chapter 4 the game art seems to have... Changed, became more cartoon and more friendly, again, one of the main issues between chapter 3 and 4 is... The lack of sexual scenes, the game seems to have turned into a Shonen rather than in the sexual aspects of it, and once you're on chapter 4, you... Already have enough gear to just completely smash any enemy that comes your way... I'm not saying the game should reduce the grind, but perhaps a bit more of eye candy and reduce the attempts at being a "MLP: The power of Friendship" something to note is that, at least up until chapter 4, there are still no scenes with any of the heroines... Third edit: At chapter 4, there's a girl that's bugged, after the celebration her attacks are either "Succubs temptation" or Paralysis (You can only win using a Darvel)... Fourth edit: At chapter 5 it's just... Atrocious, you have to grind to fight against 4 girls that are the 4 seasons, so far, okay, not too bad except... You remember when I wrote that you need to have Darvel to avoid paralyisis...? Well, Autum will permanently stunlock you, meaning you never have a turn, and Spring if I'm not wrong will do the same, so before you enter chap 5, get at least 10 - 20 Darvel...
I've been following this game since its very beginning. Succubus Covenant, with its once passionate dev and its talented artist, had all the tools necessary to surpass the biggest games of the genre. Yet here we are, years later with another disappointment of a game because passion retired and pa$$ion took over. Story is good, probably one of the strongest point of this game but the writing has worsened over the years for some reason, even more so in Chapter 5 which is filled with typos and bland scenes. Gameplay is extremely repetitive and players are forced to go through way too many trash monsters to get to the best part of this game: the succubi. These fights serve zero purpose as our character doesn't grow from them, all they do is frustrate players and delay their fun. The CGs drawn by Kainkout were so much better than what we have now. We're stuck with a worse artist ever since Chapter 4, with the quality and quantity of CGs per patch drastically dropping. No disrespect to the new artist, but Kainkout's CGs are simply much better. The last string of hope I had for this game was severed by how little the dev cares nowadays. Chapters 1 and 2 were masterpieces, 3rd was fine but 4th and 5th are stinkers and I can't see Zion ever coming close to his past success.
I first came across this game years ago, shortly after the first chapter was completed. I thought it was awesome. Since then, it has aged exceptionally poorly, and Zion has done nothing to modernise it. The game engine and style creates a tedious and unrewarding gameplay experience and the most important aspect, the succubi, have gone backwards. The art is now far worse than before, the succubi have fewer scenes and the animations were removed. There are reasons as to why each of these things has happened, but seemingly no tangible effort to fix or provide new alternatives to amp up the quality of the game. Had this series been handled properly it probably could have been making double or triple its Patreon donations every month. Overall this journey, since the end of Chapter 2 has been a massive disappointment. Zion comes across as a nice guy but this series would be best off being sold to someone else, or at least managed by someone else.
- This game started off good, but the dev has such a massive ego about his "epic story" He forgets he's making a porn game. He tries really hard to push his story with annoying cutscenes every time you transition to a new area. - The Art is good if you can plod through the endless dialog but takes a jarring turn ch4 onward. - There's still no update to the gallery Ch4 and 5 succubus's each need a dedicated save if you want to view their scenes. - Chapter 5 is an absolute mess with the final area looking like it was made in a day. - The dev takes absolutely forever to release updates and never makes his self placed deadlines. Final verdict: Just pull up a video of the scenes. some have even been animated by a 3rd party.
