Summer's Gone

Great game, I really like it. High level narrative Top level models The only reason it's 4 stars and not 5 is because the DARK path option was removed (at least if there was an option to choose whether you wanted light or dark) and because the option to hearm has also been removed. And of course because I already have Smurfs' balls. The amount of action needs to increase by at least 300 percent.

What happened? I loved the game, even if the relationships, the choices, and the MC’s edginess were sometimes a bit… strange. That’s what made Summer’s Gone really unique and interesting. With this Season 2, I feel lost. Most characters have lost their personality, and some have even lost their appearance… I replayed Season 1 after my first Season 2 run, and the feeling is even stronger. We are now following a bunch of horny, naked bimbos instead of “normal” girls. The lack of sex was never a problem for me, but the lack of coherence that appears in this season definitely is. (I also think the graphics have downgraded compared to Season 1, the lighting seems worse.)

I want to start by saying that this AVN is not bad. Overall, the story is interesting, the visuals are very good, and the LIs are engaging. However, there is one thing that bothers me: the lack of choices. It made me lose the desire to continue. When I start a VN, I enjoy "playing" and being able to choose how to respond, etc. Unfortunately, that’s not the case here. There are choices from time to time, but they are not enough. I still recommend trying it yourself to see if it suits you.

Man this game is really well made, usually is this types of games it focuses more into the physical aspect , but this did not. The charaters are well build and likable , expecially bella and chetto, def my fav. What made me disspainted is that there are too many char that we keep pushing into the story while forgetting some of the more in deapth that i would i actually want to hear about and to progress the story. A little disspointed how the story changed in season 2 i liked the first way more, but it was still greate and its one of the few games where i would read every dialogue and not get bored and skip. 4.9/5 can t wait for the next chapter.

Summer's Gone [S2 Ch.1-3] Summer's Gone feels kind of all over the place right now. None of the plots are really moving forward, and the main storyline just keeps getting worse with each update, mostly because Ocean keeps doing retcons and partial remakes due to censorship. The game is a very slow burn with really bad pacing, and it honestly feels like the story hasn't progressed much since the first chapter. There are a bunch of long, boring scenes that don't really add anything interesting, and removing the MC's sibling relationship with Nami really hurts the narrative. As for the characters, the MC is not the kind of protagonist you usually see in most AVNs. Nika has a depressed emo vibe with a bunch of red flags, which actually fits the darker tone of the story. The real standout here is the relationship dynamic between Nika and Bella, it's very well-written and easily the strongest part of the game. Unfortunately, the other LIs aren't nearly as developed, which makes their routes feel less rewarding unless you're specifically interested in one of them. At least Zara has had some interesting development in Season 2 so far. The girls in general look great, with some of the best designs you'll find in AVNs, but their personalities feel inconsistent. There's a clear disconnect between how they acted in Season 1 and their behavior in Season 2. Suddenly they're constantly half-naked around the MC and acting horny 24/7, which feels like a poorly handled change. To make it worse, the whole Nika's "Boner's Gone" issue still being around is just annoying as hell. I get that this AVN focuses more on story than sex, but we're talking about a game that's been around since 2019. On the technical side, the game looks amazing, and the visuals are where it really shines. Ocean is clearly very talented, the renders are some of the best you'll find in AVNs, and the character models look great. The lighting, the backgrounds, everything just looks top-notch. Also, the OST is surprisingly good. This is one of the few AVNs that I actually keep the in-game music on instead of switching to Spotify. Overall, Summer's Gone is still a good game at its core, but it's held back by slow pacing, lack of real story progression, and constant retcons that make everything feel messy and inconsistent. On top of that, Ocean trying to handle two big games at once leads to a terrible update cycle, which makes the experience even more frustrating. I honestly doubt Summer's Gone and Where It All Began will ever be finished if things continue like this...

Ehh.. kinda disappointing that SG turned into WIAB-lite. Season 1 was cool. Yeah, it was pretty experimental, rough around the edges, waaay to edgy at first, but it had soul, it had tension and it could invoke emotions, especially considering that it was dealing with "heavier" topics. S2 is just a bunch of scenes with boobs, a lot of blabbering about nothing in particular, and some "higher plot" with those B-tier Dubai influences/mafia or whatever those people from WIAB are.

It's fine. But this is probably one of the strangest and almost most frustrating AVN's I've played, there's a lot that it does right, but the parts that irk me stick out. The absolute best thing about this game is probably the character models, they are all gorgeous, the girls look fantastic and even the background characters look good. The character personalities also are intriguing, pretty much all of them are unique and interact with the MC in different ways. That does lead into the first criticism I have with this game however. The vibe is a lot like a Wes Anderson movie, where the characters are interacting and it reads fine, but it's really not how human beings communicate. Just the way these people in this game talk and connect is strange, it feels like lines are crossed at breakneck speed but then everything is treated as completely normal. It makes the vibe of this entire experience very hard to settle into, like it wants to be this casually sexy world without real boundaries but then with nothing hardcore. It makes it hard to get immersed into the story when the setting is this out there. It also makes progression with the love interests all over the place, like it feels like once mutual interest is established the MC is just immediately an intimate partner with the girl, which is almost a little disorienting. Not to say any of this is particularly a knock against the game, but it certainly is something to get used to. Like when the character of Vanessa is introduced, she is meant to be this boundary pushing maybe LI that says weird stuff to get reactions, but her dialogue is barely more strange than any of the other dialogue that all the other characters are saying. But this all really does pale in comparison to my main gripe about this game, and that is with the rate of story progression and with how fast the game is updated, the development seems like it is completely unsustainable. I have no idea how deep into the story we are meant to be, how much longer it will be before paths start getting locked, when the final step into a full sexual relationship with a LI is established, none of that is clear. And the game is very close to really suffering from character bloat, with new ones still being added which means more dev time because the dev is dedicated to everyone getting unique models and personalities. Personally, I have a hard time believing this game will ever be completed, and thus that makes it hard for me to become invested in a meaningful way. As it is currently, it still is an 8/10, and I appreciate it's existence, but it's not gonna break into my favorites list any time soon.

To me the best adult VN out there storywise. It's written insanely well and the characters have insane depth to them, The visuals,characters,story,drama and twists are amazing. Definitely recommend checking out this masterpiece

This game is incredible. I have no complaints about the long time between updates because I know it's worth waiting every second. The characters are all extremely likeable, the Quality of every frame is by far the best on this entire site, the MC's story is something that I bet a lot of people will relate to, all on different levels. Some just know the struggle of trying to become a better man. I do think this is so far, the best game on this site, and I don't see how anything will top it.

Review S2 Ch.1-3 This hurts my heart, but to tell you the truth I expected this on some level with how WIAB has turned out with it's rework. Even though most of everything has been said here in the reviews I will still gloss over some points and what actually bothered me the most. Summary The Good * More content for some girls - (Bella took way waaay to much screen time in season 1. It was nice to actually feel like there were other options with content to back it) * Some story progression * Funny moments here and there I actually laughed at The Bad * The story has progressed too slowly over a 2 year gap * The music didn't really hit for me so far this season * Nika's trauma is taking a shift from 95% Summer to 70% Summer and 30% past events. (......why?) * Some outcomes seemed forced regardless of the path you take The Ugly * Changing personalities and qualities of characters * Removing features from the game and still not delivering on others * Lack of timeframe for anything (inside and out) is a huge glaring flaw and the reason I decided to write this review Rant First off with everything in life from complete off the wall fiction to total realism. Everything, follows a certain logic that is bound to our understanding as humans and shifting personalities of characters breaks that emersion. The development and rework over the years doesn't change the day to day plot this game follows. To be frank without the context and years of following this game I would be hard pressed to believe most of the characters were not alter egos of themselves in a different world in S2. I understand some characters we simply didn't know enough about. Quite frankly a couple complaints I have read make no sense to me. Just because you created some head canon of what you think a person is like doesn't mean they didn't have qualities you were unaware of. Which raises a very big concern for the future of this game. Most if not everyone on this site knows about Ocean and his reworks. With all the negativity that is coming and will come from this current release. I'm honestly scared to what his reaction might be to it at this point. Simply put I don't see many corrective options for him besides a rework that add more scenes and filler to bridge the gaps and add some normalcy to the characters. Which results in one big flaw and that is we don't continue the story. Which leads me to a problem I've had since season 1. To me this is probably the biggest complaint I have personally despite everything else. There is literally (and I mean literally) no mother fucking way to understand the timeline of "current" events in this game. Sooo many plans and promises are made to do this and that with different characters or upcoming activities. But, besides Nika agreeing, we as the player have ZERO fucking clue when it is actually taking place. Please for the love of god add some type of calendar system to the game. There was a phone added and then magically removed from the game. Bring it back! Add events to it and list the current day ffs... soory I'll stop now. However, please for my sanity make it more clear when things are happening. Conclusion At this point the game is up in the air for me as far as interest goes. As one of my top AVN's to where it lands now I honestly don't know. I still will play future updates if they come but honestly no longer look forward to it. With that being said it is still a decent play even with it's flaws and ranking it even lower than 3 stars IMO just seems like a slight from me or others for it not being the way we want it to go.

So first the good. The visuals are stellar, although nowadays it's not as impressive as when this game FIRST came out. Still, it's still very well choreographed and animated. I also like the fact that there are no immediate spelling errors or syntax issues. Furthermore, props for the dev for clearly WRITING his own story and not relying on AI. I hate Ai writing with a passion. As others have mentioned, I found Nojiko's characterization in S2 somewhat confusing. Not because I was put off by the idea of her having an open relationship, but because, frankly, given how her character acted in S1, it felt a bit unexpected. Nojiko in S1 seemed like a standard mother character. Frankly, in a sea of AVN that makes mother characters overtly sexual, it was like a breath of fresh air. And yet, in S2, she was overtly sexualized like many other AVN. Again, not offended by it, just confused. It felt unnecessary. I would like to make a few things clear before discussing what I hated about this update and why I rated it so low. I don't care if a game has an OF variant in it. I enjoy plenty of AVN that have their own version of it. That's not an issue to me. In fact, one of my favorite games on this site heavily involves prostitution and public sex. I also don't mind NTR in certain contexts. However, I find it frustrating when an MC and LI are forced to engage in an OF variant. In S1, it makes you think you can "opt out" by not making Mila dress provocatively or flash a random guy in S2. The worst part is that in S1, although Mila was intrigued by the money Venus could make, she was firm in her belief that doing it was wrong. You learn this is due to the fact that her mother was a prostitute and alcoholic, which put a sour taste in her mouth when it comes to sex work. But then nope! Mila changes her mind in S2 because... female empowerment and money? Funny how that works. In real life, a conviction as strong as Mila's would need something big to break it. A normal girl would ask multiple people and ask the protagonist what they think. Again, NOT if they don't care one way or the other (like Nia) but if they DO care, like Mila did. One of her core tenets was broken, and for what? Again, if that scene was avoidable, I would not harp on it at all, but since it ISN'T avoidable, I treat it as the "natural flow" of the story, and it makes no sense to me. Then it turns out nearly all the girls are doing Venus in one way or another. At first, I considered that I didn't import my game properly. But after confirming I did, I felt a level of annoyance I haven't felt in a while. Many people have observed that it seems as though all the girls' libidos have been significantly heightened. And yeah, I can see that. Even a girl who is supposed to be Muslim is wearing a see-through shirt with her hijab in public. It also explains Nojiko's sudden turn, and it leaves me wondering what happened behind the scenes. Was the author pressured? Or did they plan this from the start?

S1 rate is 3-4 for me S2 is one big disappointment.. Bella is 24/7 horny and want to fuck MC, ofc his dick still not working. The most ridiculous part is scene with her and when she asked MC why he didn't go down on her yet. He said because of his panic attacks, they could trigger.. rly? Nadia is insatiable nympho now? wtf? It doesn't help we barely get any progress with the story. I was waiting for mc and first team content and Amber psychologist session and we get literally northing.. Whole season is walking, gossiping and talking simulator like in some turkish telenovelas/soap operas.. it's just meh.. 2 stars

After a 2 year pause, a very disappointing update. Confusing and scattered story, too many intrigues and a lack of anything that would lock in the interest to play this game. At this rate, it will take the MC another 10 years to get intimate with any of the LI's. Too bad for excellent models and renders. This dev needs a writer who knows how to engage players.

Most overrated avn game I've ever played. comes with high expectations a lot people recommend and put good words, then decided give it try with this new update. It's really damn boring can hook up to story with cringe dialogue the only good was a lot pretty girls there. Mc is trash also with long development time like 7 years now with this content, it's not worth a single penny. I don't understand to people who support dev monthly I think it wise buy this one time at steam. Imagine u intend support summer gone the dev didn't put 100% time to develop the game cz he had another game, when he said quality> quantity he should drop one and focus on one game because I see the potential because the girls are hot

I still wanna play the upcoming seasons 'cause I really want to see where the story goes and uncover all the mysteries, but man, this one felt like there was barely any meaningful content. Some romance options got completely sidelined, none of the storylines actually progressed, and the whole thing just felt like one big filler episode. That scene where they were looking for a house to rent dragged on forever and was super tedious. I don’t mind the +18 scenes at all, but the characters changed way too much — both in looks and personality. Since Season 2 picks up right where Season 1 left off, it makes zero sense to have such a drastic redesign. I loved the Season 1, but the Season 2 makes me worried about the future of the game.

Man, this was so bad. So much time for this non advance update? Change all the girls behavior, one guy that are scared of half naked girls. Girls that also change personality between updates...all of them. He said his games are realistic, no, they are ridiculous. Situations are even more ridiculous than fantasy games. Im not sure how many renders was lost on the house scene and also on non important nor relevant cinematics... 2 stars for the great renders, if not I'll give 1.

Absolutely loved S1 to death easy 5 stars, but my bias for it can't bring me to move past S2's glaring issues. There is no explanation as to why everyone is suddenly naked all the time and sexual towards the MC. Season 1 set-up these characters really well with who they are and how they act, and season 2 sort of throws it all out the window to bring us the promised sexual content. There is no build-up or story progression. The LI's are all just suddenly sex crazed nymphos. I think for Bella specifically it works alright, because she has had the most screen time by far and S1 already sort of started the sexual content, but everyone else it really feels like you're missing a few episodes of context as to why they act like they do to MC. Suspension of disbelief only works for a few characters at first, and falls apart when every character does a personality flip. The promise of sexual content being a much bigger role, and a overall lack of focus seems to really hurt S2 so far. It's not like I hated it, I enjoyed a lot of what we got, but some of the writing is REALLY rough (Zara's sexual content literally made me say "wtf is happening") and its hard to not let the bad moments overshadow the good. I do think it's recoverable with future updates, I don't think this sours future content, but its gonna take some work. Considering its Ocean we're talking about, I also hope he just moves on rather than doing more reworks as well. I'd like to see more content before 2030.

Alright, I was seriously into SG Season 1, and this AVN was one of the few I was actually hyped about. I've always loved the vibe of the game – the visuals, the music, how the story unfolded. There was always a bit of intrigue, that feeling of overcoming stuff, all spiced up with some good eroticism. So yeah, my expectations for Season 2 were pretty damn high. I wanted more complex plots, character development, and to see the MC actually matter in the world the author built. Two years of waiting…and what? Disappointment? Frustration? A sense of something just being…missing? That’s about right. What immediately jumps out is: changes to how the characters look, changes to their personalities, the over-sexualization of absolutely everything, and this constant teasing where they dangle something big in front of you then yank it away at the last second. Not only has MC been struggling with getting a hard-on since Season 01, but now he’s also having panic attacks whenever he tries to satisfy his LI any other way. I don't know if this was always a thing, but it doesn't seem to bother him during his hour-long make-out sessions, huh? I don’t have an issue with the game being slow burn without constant sex scenes. In fact, I don’t really care, because most AVN stuff presents it in a ridiculous and lopsided way (Zeno's Anthology is probably the exception). I just end up suffering along with LI and MC that they can't find a fucking way out of this situation. But my biggest gripe with this game is that it’s lost its original sense of mystery, that carefully measured eroticism. In S02, everything is dialed to eleven – women are constantly half-naked, and no one seems to give a shit about being naked around the MC or in groups. People who used to care about their privacy now act like celebrities at a fashion show. The MC’s problems have taken a backseat; now everyone on campus is worried about whether he can get his dick up and if he's already slept with Bella… There are weird scenes with Nojiko, like the author couldn’t decide if the taboo stuff with Nami wasn’t enough. Nobody seems to mind that Nami, Zara, and others are openly flirting with the MC, which was supposed to be a big secret in Season 1. We don't see the MC actually struggling with his issues. Instead of building character and scenes, the author conveys his anger through off-screen internal narration instead of dramatizing it. Drama needs comic relief. Comedy needs moments of gravity. AVNs need genuine seriousness to balance things out. That’s what I was missing this season. 5-6/10

I rarely write reviews because I'm one lazy motherfucker. I do need big motivation to do so, and my motivation is at its peak when the game is really good, because I don't want to waste my time writing reviews on bad games. But then I discovered the third case: This game. Adult games most of the time are pretty childish and feel like someone who created them was too horny to actually put logic in them. And that thing ruins immersion big time. And immersion is the thing I constantly look for in adult games. When I first played this game, I was straight up amazed. - Atmosphere created by music, high-quality renders, and scenery. - Story which was pretty original and had some depth and heavy tones. - Characters, most of whom were really fine, in terms of mind characteristics and visual appeal. - Diversity of situations and chapter length. - MC which I can somewhat relate to. Those ingredients made this game "the best" in my book. But then, after many months later (or years?)... Season two has happened. And I actually can't believe what I was playing. It felt like April's first joke, or some cheap parody made by some horny fan. I guess many folks will not agree with me because of this syndrome called 'blue balls', but if it would be my honor to give a name to the 2 season of SG, then I would go with something like this: Chapter Two: The Sluttify! The very first minutes of the game attack us with topless women. Characters who previously weren't that comfortable with being naked, now are naked constantly. Mila: Spoiler This girl had soft slut tendencies, but now it seems that she went full slut mode. She bares her breasts constantly. Nika gropes her boobs on every occasion, yet he is impotent. It doesn't make any sense. She wanted to not be judged based on her whorish mother, but yet, she does the same now. And now we know she is a nympho. Well done, task failed successfully. And another one with a nip piercing? Ocean, are you working at the German BDSM club or something? Nojiko: Spoiler Like, WTF is even happening here? I got the feeling that she is a mature, static, and wise female character in the first season. Breathe of fresh air in comparison to those horny young college naive girls. But the curse of sluttify managed to find its way into her mind. It's another one which is totally fine with being naked around our MC. Because it didn't match the previous season, Ocean came out with a great idea and gave us a single explanation line which was like: "I saw you naked before." And with that short sentence he resolved this issue (sarcasm much). Fucking genius! (another sarcasm) And she looks like a total slut with those cheap ass tattoos. Was she a prostitute in Bangkok? By the way, she should buy another swimsuit because this one doesn't do its job. Or Ocean is too horny and no swimsuit is safe from him! I remember the scene (S1) with Nojiko on the porch. It was a nice, genuine, and heartwarming scene; you could feel mutual respect and care. When one of the straps of her nightie fell off after Nika left, she fixed her clothing and looked embarrassed a bit. Now compare this to the sauna scene of second season where Nojiko basically put her bare tits and ass into Nika's face. Seriously? Whole charm is gone. Like Summer. Zara: Spoiler Another one, who now feels really comfortable being totally naked around Nika. I know there was a scene in the sauna in Season 1 where Zara was naked as well, but she at least tried to cover herself among the bubbles. Now she shows it all... as well as a new black girl, who is walking around naked and stretching herself like she's getting ready for being plunged from behind. Seriously, what is happening here? Is it playboy mansion where everyone is horny and exhibitionist? Bella: Spoiler From Season 1 spoiled brat with issues, now she is still the same, except being horny like a rabbit. From an interesting character, she became a dumbed-down horny mindless creature, and the dynamic between Nika and her trivialized just to sexual tension. "Fuck me, finger me here, finger mi there, please master, I have the best tits!" Bella in Season 2 in a nutshell. Maja: Spoiler My favorite girl along with Amber and Zara. Not much content, I remember her for her cautious behavior and being a bit on the harsh side, but now she is another one who doesn't have any problem undressing near MC. Besides that, not much else to say. Very disappointing. Marla: Spoiler Teacher or principal? I forgot. Doesn't matter. Another sluttified woman in this game. She bashes this girl for flashing tits in the classroom, but look how she is dressed. Short skirt, visible panties, sexy pantyhose... yeah, that's a common look for a teacher. Maybe it is a porno college? Look how other girls are dressed in this college. Huge cleavages, sheer tops, half of their asses on the display, and yet Miss Marla has some kind of problem with a girl flashing her tits. Yeah, porn logic I know. But this game was better than that. It didn't have this nonsense before. At least I don't recall. Nadia: Spoiler She didn't flash anything yet (what a surprise!), but it's not like she is dressed normally. But what we learn now is that she became another nympho. Wow, what a great and original character development. You would have never guessed! (moderate sarcasm) Auya: Spoiler Another slut. She was pretty cool in the first season but now it is another horny zombie with all dialogues and doings circling around sex. Sonya: Spoiler Another sluttified victim. You can't make her naked right away, right Ocean? So... give her see-through clothes! And make her show off to Nika without any shame! Another genius move from genius creator. (heavy sarcasm) Fuck me. At this point I cannot say anything more about other characters because I started to skip all the dialogues by holding CTRL, because I didn't want to waste more time on this cheap shitshow. So... We got like two days' progress? Nothing important has happened, just stupid dialogs about sex. More tits and asses. In the Nick house and school. Two fucking main locations. Variety at its best. To sum it up: Everything is dumbed-down in this season; everything is trivialized and over-sexualized. Nudity is overdone, everyone is a horny exhibitionist, characters became flat like Cheeto's chest. Women in this game? No, just mindless beings with tits and ass attached. Dressed like they belong to some cheap whore house. There is no longer drama or trauma, everything comes to dick, tits and pussy apparently. "Okay I will finger her, maybe I will not get a panic attack!" What a crap! Season 2 is like it was bought from TEMU. It is damaged beyond repair. It fell off my list. What a shame. 2 out of 5 just because of the First Season. Second one is 0/5.
