The Way of the Wind

Review for v0.1,0 Xianxia is a genre I've long wished to see explored more in the lewd game world, and while this version only gives a taste of what could be, I think this has a ton of potential to be extremely good. But even judging only on what's present I think it still has a lot to praise. I encourage you to look up Xianxia as a genre if you're curious as it would explain it better than I would, but it's a genre heavily inspired by ancient china, mythology, and martial arts. While it can often be considered a sort of high fantasy setting with how crazy it can get, this game takes a more low fantasy style approach. Though I'm not cultured enough to immediately recognize all of it, this game specifically is taking influence from history of other cultures and such around the world as well. It's a game you can tell the dev is passionate about making. The writing is very intricate and realistic thus far. There's thought going into the world and characters. I also love having choices that actually feel meaningful, even if they are mostly dialogue related as of now. The art style, though I have nitpicks, gives the game a very fresh feel. Music and sound choice as well really add to the experience. It's a story game for sure, and that's something I already appreciate about it. The sex scenes are also animated in a very realistic way as well, in a way I'm not quite sure I've seen before. It almost feels like it's using real people and painting over them? I'd be curious to know how the art is being done. However my one real complaint about the game also has to do with the art. I feel like everything has a weird blur on it, and its especially noticeable in certain scenes. Kinda like the artist is using the blur tool to blend all the art. It really takes away from some of the detail at times. It's a very interesting first release. I deliberately left out a lot of details of the plot so far because I think it's just worth playing yourself, but if the game keeps going as strong as it is already I can see it becoming a favorite of mine. A bit too early to say anything for sure though.

Really enjoyed this playthrough. Characters are well-written and complex, which isn't always a given in the genre. A lot of care was put into the story and lore, which helps make this story feel immersive and the world feel real. As a longtime adult game player I've always been disappointed with the lack of character development and worldbuilding in the genre, so this was a breath of fresh air. Excited for new updates and looking forward to playing more.

I'm a big fan of xianxia and I was extremely excited to see an adult game combine my favorite story elements with steamy scenes! I'm usually not too invested or interested in political intrigue, but The Way of the Wind actually does have me paying attention and keeping track of all the clans, regions, and countries (and all of their relationships to one another). The story itself is also really compelling; I'm impressed with all the characters and their distinct personalities. The character designs are really pretty and diverse despite the ancient Chinese setting. The mature scenes are really well done and smooth. I really appreciate how things have been animated; I can only imagine how much time this all took and I look forward to seeing more with the other characters we haven't gotten much time with! There appears to be a character based off of the Philippines, maybe Southeast Asia in general, and I'm probably the most excited about her. I was pleasantly surprised by how good the soundtrack is; I don't usually expect much with these types of games but it deserves special praise. It perfectly matches the setting, enhancing the mood and making every scene feel immersive. It's rare to see an independent adult game with such a well-crafted score that really elevates the experience. Definitely looking forward to seeing more!

so far so good. the story is interesting, looking forward to more of this. very well done first release in my opinion. the lewd scenes are also very well done hopefully there is more to come and hopefully more frequently
