Aurelian Nostrum is a text-based adult game by Adrian A, built in HTML and set five thousand years after a catastrophic war ended the first empire. Humanity has lost its technology, its cities lie in ruin, and civilization is only beginning to rise again. The story follows multiple protagonists through a tale of love, death, and deception as the future of the species is shaped by what is found in the shadows of the past. The game emphasizes romance and fantasy, and includes multiple routes.

The current build is v2.2.0, dated April 20, 2023, and the project is still in development. It runs on Windows, Mac, and Linux in English, with uncensored content. The latest changelog lists bug fixes, including a looping problem close to the end of the current version and variable issues. Earlier notes mention an end loop fix, a nameable female protagonist, a codex with profiles and info pages, data storage across playthroughs, and the removal of the underground route.

It has been Five thousand years since the first empire fell. Five thousand years since the fate of Humanity was decided. Five thousand years since the last Emperor perished amidst the flames of a war that eclipsed all others. In its wake, mankind was decimated. All its technology lost, and its mighty cities turned to rubble and ash. That is how long it has taken for mankind to begin to scrape civilization from the ruins of the past. Now after all those years the world finally begins to turn. As civilization rises once again what future shall mankind choose and what answers shall they discover in the shadows of the past? Enter a tale of love, death, and deception. A tale of how the fate of the human race was decided and how that conclusion would echo across time and space.

V2.2.0 Bugs Fixed A loop error found near the end of the recent version Variable issues v2.1.0 Fixed a bug at the end that looped you back to a prior point. V2.0.0 The Female Protagonist is now nameable. Included Codex, Character Profiles, Info Pages, etc. These are unlocked as the story progresses and you are alerted when they are unlocked. Undefined has now been made clear that it is not a bug but a way to store data across playthroughs to allow you to skip past previously read content. Continuation of all routes save underground The underground route has been axed due to my decisions regarding story progression.
